DBRDBR – i’d Like to follow you in on that bet. Who was offering it? I can’t find it on oddschecker.

Would Cubomania’s rating not be too high for this assuming 145 is still the ceiling? When he won at Cheltenham he was 143, so assume the English handicapper would have him up at +7 to 150. Monbeg Legend who he beat by close to 3 lengths has been dropped 2 lb to 145, so even on that form Cubomania would be 147/148 and that’s before today’s performance.

I’m a Glen Forsa fan. Form is being franked left, right and centre. Will be interesting to see whether connections try and protect his mark for this or run him again.

I’ve backed both Diamond King (at 25s!) and Kings Odyssey for this. I wouldn’t be so sure that Kings Odyssey is purely a soft/heavy ground horse. Trainer is inconsistent – he says that he’s a proper winter ground horse but also been recorded as saying that he goes on good or good/soft. I’m no expert at all on horse action but I don’t think he necessarily has a soft/heavy ground action either. Hopefully we will find out Thursday.

I’ve backed her and the 2nd Western Ryder from Newbury. The below was taken from a recent guardian interview / article – as he says he rarely sends a runner, as I think he’s usually feels its a tough race for an immature/inexperienced horse, so for me that speaks volumes.

“We might even hit the Bumper this year, which is very strange for me,” Henderson said. “She is so tough and forward and mature, and she’s a four-year-old filly, which the history books say isn’t possible, but it looks open this year. She looked very good the other day [at Newbury] and she gets all the allowances. I think she’s got 10st 4lb.”

Based on a double I placed for Moon Racer to win the Supreme along with Ballyandy to win the Betfair Hurdle I really hope that he turns up and wins the Supreme. I’ve just thrown £20 at him NRNB at 33s for the Champion as insurance which I think is a crazy price. Lets not forget that Pipe gave him a break of 5 months between Bumpers and that worked out fine, together with a 3 length beating of Yanworth in the same race. Champion is wide open so why not give Moon Racer a go at 8 years old?

Well Another Hero’s declared so at least we will get a run for our money. Can’t work out whether BG has ‘chosen’ to ride Regal Encore or whether he struggles to get down to 10-5 these days. I had a quick look on RP and couldn’t see any evidence of him, at least recently, riding off this type of weight. Anyone know what his typical minimum riding weight is?

Another Hero in the 5 day decs, and weights have gone up so he’s in the handicap now on an attractive 10-5. Bet 365 pushed him out to 40s bizarrely, so have topped up again. Jonjo still has 2 other entries and JP 1. He’s 20 on the list but not sure what the maximum field is?

Great write up. I’ve gone in on Another Hero at 50s as a) I can’t believe the price and b) unless Jonjo has said otherwise I think this might be his target ahead of the Welsh Grand National. With only a handful coming out of the Welsh Grand National today I think he’s unlikely to get in and also dusting off my RP stable tour, it was suggested that they would target a 3M good ground chase. Surely he’s likely to get better ground at Ascot rather than Chepstow. Lets see what the weather does but at 50’s I had to play.

That’s a cracking offer at the 5 day stage. Seems to be a decent amount of horses still with question marks over participation and/or entries elsewhere. I’ve waded in with the sponsors each way on ‘relative’ outsiders in the field who don’t have other entries – notably Stiletto, Annacotty & Full Shift. Not especially because I think they will win but because they will represent place value on the day.

I’ve backed Modus too. Very eye catching run at Ascot which suggested to me he might fly up the hill if in touch at Cheltenham. He was well backed too at Ascot along with stable mate which suggests they think he’s definitely well handicapped.

I’ve backed Ballyoptic at 16s after yesterday’s win at Chepstow. Novice form was as good as anything last year, and was impressed by the way that he won over an insufficient trip yesterday, with NTD stating that it was primarily a prep race for the Wetherby 3 Miler. There are lots of question marks on whether this will be the target for most in the AP lists so happy to get involved at this stage.

Well done to everyone who backed it. Credit too to the jockey. She gave Wrath a great ride. Given her lack of experience I had to say I was a little concerned at final declarations but she proved me wrong. Been reviewing the forum for years now, and may have posted once or twice under a different name. Given the luck it might have brought me will be posting more regularly!! NH only mind, just can’t get into the flat.

Jumping on the bandwagon, I have to say I really like Wrath of Titans for this, and took the 33’s that were available earlier. According to the RP ground is currently soft-heavy with more rain forecast for tomorrow, so might well stay at current conditions. In my mind that means weights most likely to go up at least 5lb with Devils Bride (ran today) and Aleichi (ground) probably both doubtful. Still means Wrath runs from outside the handicap, but this has been talked as his target, and neither trip or ground (won on soft/heavy0 a problem. Also Gigginstown a positive given last years result, so too recent trainer switch to Elliot, and I noticed that PP cut him earlier in the week to 16s.
