Buckers, with Waldorf not going, I topped up on Druids at 25’s today with SportingBet. I hope you seen that earlier, but there’s still some 20’s about, though I haven’t checked out the weather forecast yet.
December 12, 2016 at 18:44 #1276923Cheers Graham, very very happy with the 50’s, and hopeful of a good run. At least you got on at what is still a decent price, and if he does go, he’ll surely be shorter anyway. Good luck with him.
Quite happy with my 3 here, and that will do, though dangers everywhere. I was going to do a book on this, but with not much cash about, I decided not to bother. Not surprised to see Minella Daddy getting punted, he looks perfect for this, while of those still at a price, then Triolo looks big at 25’s.
December 12, 2016 at 22:33 #1276960Well done
Another Hero in the 5 day decs, and weights have gone up so he’s in the handicap now on an attractive 10-5. Bet 365 pushed him out to 40s bizarrely, so have topped up again. Jonjo still has 2 other entries and JP 1. He’s 20 on the list but not sure what the maximum field is?
Didn’t get a chance to check them out today till about a half hour ago. I agree with you BG that 40/1
is worth chancing with ANOTHER HERO. Oddschecker still had Bet365 showing 40s, but that had gone when
I checked on the site. The only other 40s was with RaceBets, who I rarely use, and they were still
offering the 40/1. I fired my cash in, clicked on the bet……it went round in circles for about a
1/2 a minute, then offered 16/1. It’s price on the site was changed in those few seconds
I was well peed off, but I’d be kicking myself if he romped in on Saturday, so I had to settle for
some 20/1 with Bet365. Well done getting the 50s and 40s

Cheers Bobby, you were well ahead of the pack again with Your picks, I should have got involved earlier.
Fantastic write up again, you get an A+ for that one
December 12, 2016 at 23:21 #1276966Thanks Graham
now just to get the winner, and a nice early Christmas Present.December 13, 2016 at 12:34 #1277012Amore Alato for this. 14/1 with Bet365. Course form, unexposed over the trip and on a wholly workable mark in my opinion. Not sure I fancy Fletchers Flyer to defy his new mark first time up and Le Mercury being priced up at 16s suggests he won’t start? This looks a winnable race for Saphir if he gets round but he’s hardly a punter’s pal so just a saver at 7s with William Hill.
December 13, 2016 at 19:43 #1277065Houblon Des Obeaux won this as an up and coming 6yo three years ago and is now alb higher, after some memorable and less memorable times since…I’ve always thought Ascot plays to his strengths and if there is a decent amount of rain beforehand he could run well at 16/1.
Go Conquer is another fancy and has been popular today, as has Present Man who beat him last time – both are up and coming chasers and both jump well in the main. A good race in prospect.

Yeah you’re quite right, Go Conquer’s as short as 8/1 2nd fav in places now from as big as 16s last night.
December 14, 2016 at 10:50 #1277126What a fantastic preview Venture, enjoyed that.
The one you haven’t committed to yet, The Druids Nephew stands out to me as well. That’s if you have not bet him now obviously. If I could get some assurance that it would be a dry week then I would have a biggish bet at the 20-1. That is a great price

Thanks Venture but I missed that price. I see he is still 20-1, I don’t know if I should bet him just now or just wait.
I agree that Triolo D’Alene is a big price at 25-1, and he looks like a strong backup. I probably don’t want rain for the two of them.
December 14, 2016 at 11:35 #1277131I got on board with Minella Daddy at the higher odds but only a small amount. If he is declared for Daturday, he will be my main bet of the weekend but unfortunately at much lower odds
December 15, 2016 at 11:56 #1277247Vyta Du Roc @ 8/1. Down 2lbs to a mark of 141 so well handicapped. Won over C&D beating Minella Rocco earlier this year.
I think 2m 7f is his best trip and he ran and jumped well in the Hennessy.
Hopefully D Jacob gets the ride, in banging form.
December 15, 2016 at 12:55 #1277254Great write up VTC.
Nothing screams out to me ATM so it’s a no play race for me for now. More Of That would be the only one I’d fancy at this stage but still a no bet scenario until we know he’s going to run.
Player Another Hero at 20s with 365
I quite agree with the comments from those above
December 15, 2016 at 20:52 #1277292I’ve only given this race a weeks study and there is nothing that jumps off the page that fills me with the confidence I like when going to war.We all know ‘Saphir’is a Grade 1 winner but he has too many ‘Ifs’ in his personality for me nowadays.I like the bottom weight ‘Another Hero’ a lot and think a 4lb rise for running well here should get him in the Welsh National,’Irish saint’ is another who has bits of form that gives him a big chance,I personally see him as a 21/2m horse though. You can make a case for several others and collateral form gives them all equal chances. However if ‘Many Clouds’ was to run in this he’d be giving the top weight near on a stone so that shows how clear his chances would be,he’s a consistent yardstick too so for a horse to actually give him 6lb and run him to barely a length is good enough reason to support him here.Eduard made his belated return to the racecourse a couple of weeks ago after 600 days out,the form of the race is rock solid and off a mark of 151 I expect this 10/1 chance to be competitive.Just for Ginges benefit I’ve done one of my legendary 100/1 doubles with Modus 9/1 in the race after.
December 15, 2016 at 23:47 #1277318Good luck Mom
December 16, 2016 at 16:52 #1277394Well Another Hero’s declared so at least we will get a run for our money. Can’t work out whether BG has ‘chosen’ to ride Regal Encore or whether he struggles to get down to 10-5 these days. I had a quick look on RP and couldn’t see any evidence of him, at least recently, riding off this type of weight. Anyone know what his typical minimum riding weight is?
December 16, 2016 at 17:00 #1277396Good luck to you tomorrow Battle Group, you and Venture have a nice price there.
I have finally bet in this and have missed bigger prices, but it will be The Druids Nephew 14-1 + Triolo D’Alene 20-1.
December 16, 2016 at 18:41 #1277405Going for Eduard now that HDO is not declared, think he has a touch of class and could be a lot better than 151…
December 16, 2016 at 19:30 #1277410SDR a N/R . This horse is now becoming annoyingly expensive to follow this year.
