nice to read an all weather thread
Just to contribute a little guy’s I’ve copied a little off my lay thread regarding the 1.55 seller at Lingfield
Trees Of Green was an ex Godolphin who showed plenty of promise over a few early outing’s but it came apparent through his running style all’s not well mentally towards the end of the season and he proved costly to follow for backers, normally as a rule I keep away from horses trained by the like’s of Wigham/Curley/Martin but I feel this horse will still be worth taking on – hopefully the money will come and give us layers a shorter prrice to get him at, he has the form to win this if he’s sweetend up but these are the kind of horses I like when I’m laying, one that stands out a big price in this race is Carry On Cleo who looks a good for each way theif’s forcasted at 20/1, Cleo faced a tough ask a couple of day’s ago and could go well in this
Anyone else taking Wigham’s charge on?
keep at it!
No Spotthedifferance so I’m out

with you there yorkshirepudding
added a pic to salute my hero

I like watching racing but I noticed a couple of years ago when I had the races on the surround sound speakers I used to get too caught up and pumped up with it and bet irrationally if results went against me, strange but I realsied after a couple of weekend’s of doing my dough

Not looked at the remaining NH card as I doubt it will be on as it’s sure freezing down here in Uttoxeter, gas bill will be going through the roof

Lingfield
1.55 Trees Of Green 11/4
3.00 Mr Cellophane 4/1[/color:397hby1t]Trees Of Green was an ex Godolphin who showed plenty of promise over a few early outing’s but it came apparent through his running style all’s not well mentally towards the end of the season and he proved costly to follow for backers, normally as a rule I keep away from horses trained by the like’s of Wigham/Curley/Martin but I feel this horse will still be worth taking on – hopefully the money will come and give us layers a shorter price to get him at, he has the form to win this if he’s sweetend up but these are the kind of horses I like when I’m laying, one that stands out a big price in this race is Carry On Cleo who looks a good for each way theif’s forcasted at 20/1, Cleo faced a tough ask a couple of day’s ago and could go well in this. Mr Cellophane is a typical ‘placepotter’ horse which has plenty of placed efforts to his name but finds winning hard, he won’t want to fight it out and it would take an ellecent ride from Jim Crowley to persuade him he looks on a fair mark and that may tempt the backer’s in to keep him short enough.
I think at the end of the day I’ll update on the odds I bet and profit/loss on each excluding commision to keep it simple.
Goodnight and be lucky if your lining up a punt or two
good luck

Earl Compton was a non runner, I actually missed the Frisbee race but it finished 2nd at 16/1 not backed e/w by me

As far as I know It’s run as an incentive to get us young one’s in as owners eventually, have been told even though there’s a lot in the club you would be surprised on how many actually turn up at the races, suppose it’s nice to have a little interest in a few horses because if you were in a real syndicate (I am) anything could happen to that one horse and anyway prize money is very poor even more so when shared out between twenty odd people. Looks quite good for a club probably similar to Elite racing, the thing what put me off is seeing all the PR with Michael Owen who is the Patron of it, the racecourses are pulling the football crowds in so why not try Owen to pull a few young un’s into ownership
– probably way off the mark though as I’m tiredYes all good fun but no fun looking at the card at Towcester

Just the two lay’s for me
Southwell
2.00 Kennington 8/1
3.30 Earl Compton 10/1The two horse’s I can readily discount for win purposes, Kennigton will have it all to do drawn the stands side in this field, I like the look of Brut who I once had a little interest in he’s well berthed for his fiery speed and has a mark David Barker would surly expect him to win one or two before the flat season kicks in, Egyption Lord is also on a nice mark due to some disappointing efforts the blinkers that have been reapplied recently may of rekindled him somewhat and the fibresand has been happy hunting ground for him in the past, Savile´s Delight is going really well now and he should win his race down the stands side. Earl Compton has not been given a competitive weight in this Claimer, six furlongs stretches him on the polytrack so this won’t suit him in the slightest on the fibresand.
A race I’ve spent overly too much time looking at is the 3.30 at Southwell as I’d like to lay Cape Of Storms put in at 11/8 but their are too many "if’s" and "but’s" about his rivals for comfort, I’ve learnt in the past to just leave these races alone, one horse I do like in the race which could go off a big price is the unexposed Frisbee who could sneak a place.
well done so far, I read this thread and thought I’d start my own laying topic on here, just don’t want it to be seen as another boring laying thread as seen on the BF forums!
Keep it up
IL
I’d expect him to run much better next time, how many horses do we see with similar injuries run really well after a long break and then poorly on its second run? I don’t think he’s done with yet
One final lay tonight
Kempton
6.50 Regal Veil
She had an easy time of it up front last time but should run her race even if not on the pace just think there are a couple horses open to a little bit more improvement at the current time, I actually think the drop back to 6 furlong will suit Run From Nun so that could run into a place, Note Perfect has to prove he handles the polytrack but could be hard to beat with him likley to try and make all tonight, Hadden Frost takes a useful 5lb off the Kirk runner
shane is from my town originally, I did not like the film much the best film is DEAD MANS SHOES now that is quality
Next film should be good on Bartly Gorman ‘kibg of the gypsies’ I know one of his lads, should be good
Venn Ottery was one of my favorates, can anyone remember Mark Johnson saying ‘still the dream lives on’ in the Queen Mother – sent shivers down the spine that day I wish he’d gone there earlier surley he could of been one of the best at 2M, it was horrible to see him flogged around after
first look for a while and seems much better, well done
