For me, the best chase performance since Best Mates 2nd Gold cup.

As for the cheltenham extra 3f (not 2f?), I don’t think it matters. he never left 3rd gear, he could have gone on for another half mile uphill.

I think you summed it up perfectly Dave, 6 months of boring flat racing and now it’s time for a proper meeting.

I’m hoping Mephisto turns up and back to his best. Not looking foward to the cross-country, have to say I find those races a bit circus like.

I’m based in NZ at the moment so not getting my usual NH fix.<br>

Wouldn’t put you off Knowhere. Tumbling Dice I don’t think has the pace for this race.

DC is around 2/1 on Betfair, a wee bit low for me.

There is one entry that excites me in the race and it’s Mephisto. It would be great to see that horse come back to form. I remember him beating Faasel at my home track Kelso, he’s a class act.

Detroit City certainly divides opinion, if he does step up from winning the Triumph he’ll be some horse, for sure. 10/1 is no price.

The Irish certainly hold all the good cards, Fair along would have to be the Joker in the pack

I placed my bet with Betfair.

Bizzarre; I’m just reading your book, trying to narrow down the Paddy Power field

Hi Swallowcottage, fair point on the ground, time will tell.

Have you any thoughts yourself on the Champion hurdle? I paid a visit to Wincanton on Saturday and I wasn’t overly impressed by Desert Quest, who should really be beating the likes of Crow Wood, despite the weight difference, if he is to be considered seriously. Not sure what to make of Noble Request’s run,  he was looking pretty fat in the paddock, the juries out for now.
