Oh and this will be my final post- when Secret Gesture pisses all over The Lark this friday I’ll be laughing- anyone who thinks that Winsili is in the same league as Secret Gesture is in the wrong game.
I tipped up both winners of the Guineas on here (ok Just the Judge was fav but when I tipped up Magician he was about 6-1)
Not a single person came on here to praise me for that. All I get instead is some tool coming on here and every other post "I disagree again" or some utter prick "Get back in your pram"
Sums this forum up. I quit.
It’s also a forum for trolls, if your posts are anything to go by. Consistently you stalk me around here and slag my opinions off and belittle me- and expect me not to respond?
Get lost you patronising tool. And don’t comment on my posts again.
disagree. disagree. disagree.
don’t see you disagreeing with anyone else’s opinion?
not that I value the view of someone who can’t tell a class horse when he sees one anyway.
Do you simply come on here to disagree with me? Getting irritating now.
Well if it runs, I can’t see it winning. In my view it’s a dubious stayer on breeding, and unning only a week after a classic is a tough task.
I will be very surprised, nay amazed, if Magician were to run in the Derby.
Big Break couldn’t beat Big Bob. Delighted for Just The Judge’s stable lad. If he talks to me at the races he’ll talk to anyone. Top judge; leading the filly around the paddock just before she made her debut at Newbury turned and said "this’ll win". Listening to what he had to say afterwards convinced me JTJ was a good filly.
They must fancy her for the Coronation as well, that race is made for her.
Trading Leather set it up for Magician by setting a suicidal gallop- hardly boosting the form of the Dante there- but the winner has bags of pace and looks as if he’ll stretch to further as well.
Fair enough Stilvi, it’s all a game of opinions anyway. My point of view is that Secret Gesture is different gravy- I think she’d hack all over a limited horse like Winsili, and I think she’ll prove how good she is in the Oaks, but of course I could be completely wrong.
As you point out it throws up a completely different test to what they’ve gone through before, so you never know how they’ll cope with it.
If The Lark wins the Oaks I will give up the game! She’s a nice filly who travels well, but is several levels short of the class required to win a classic for me. Jamie Spencer was interviewed today about her on Racing Post t.v. and didn’t sound at all confident. She lacks the acceleration to win.
I disagree that the top three are weak- and increasingly I’m thinking the more you put on the Beckett filly the more you get back.

The Sheikh has announced a blanket ban of Steroids in Dubai, the use of which will now be treated as a criminal offence.
While this may be at least partly a P.R. exercise, it’s still good news.
I couldn’t win the Derby, so Dawn Approach has no fooking chance

what can beat him though steve? the opposition looks fairly dire.
I must admit that I looked at the race today and was shocked by how weak the race looks on the current decs- of course there is a supplementary stage but as you say, if moth doesn’t run it could end up being very weak in depth
and hopefully a cakewalk for secret gesture

I backed her today but not at the price- I just asked for S.P. as 9-4 is too skinny for me but if Moth doesn’t run i’m worried she’ll start close to evs

hmmm interesting angle.. wouldn’t be surprised if you are right as looks a very open race.
Secret gesture is very short now, she’s 3.45 on Betfair. I would recommend leaving the price alone as I doubt she’ll be any shorter on the day and could well drift out- if there’s money for the Stoute or O’brien fillies.
Liber Nauticus I love to death but I just wonder if she’ll be killed for speed. There’s no getting around the fact that she hasn’t been impressive on the clock. I know Sir Michael would have left something to work on, but even so you would have hoped that she would have kicked on and won a poor Musidora by 5/6 lengths but she didn’t do that.
Moth is hugely respected given the connections, her breeding suggesting she’ll stay and how she finished in the Guineas. However there doesn’t seem to be much confidence in her betting wise and I notice she’s been left in the five-day decs for the Irish 1000- she surely won’t run in both but you do wonder if even the trainer himself is in two minds whether or not to keep her at a mile or step her up.
Given the first three in the field have a break on the field (with the possible exception of Banoffee) that for me leaves Secret Gesture.
Of all the Galileo’s i’ve seen, this is the one that reminds me most of her sire. She has all the looks, cruising speed, athleticism, and class he had in droves. She’s made for Epsom and I can just see her cruising around and putting the race to bed in the home straight.
In fact I don’t want to jinx her but it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if after the race we were talking about a new middle-distance superstar- one who could potentially take on the colts in the Irish Derby, Salsabil style. However I still think there might be some logic behind leaving her price alone now- I very much doubt she’ll be sent off 6-4
Now I really should go back to bed what i’m doing up at this hour is anyone’s guess!
