I think you are right Joni,to my eyes Ectot looks a very smart colt, his absence for the best part of the year could be a blessing in disguise come Sunday as he is a fresh horse and his target for some time has been the Arc.he travelled very strongly in the Prix Niel and stands to reason after a five month absence he tired in the last furlong, stable jockey has rejected an unbeaten Guineas and Oaks winner to ride him and I expect him to win on Sunday, think Harp Star if not given to much to do as she has in the past could be the one to follow him home

The most impressive juvenile I’ve seen this year is Romeo Lima already mentioned on this thread, seems the bookies are running scared of him because he hasn’t been priced up anywhere for the 2000 Guineas

Prior to the 1000 Guineas i backed Moth for the Oaks at 12/1 and having watched the race couldn’t be be happier, but Josephs comments about wanting a flat track and Secret Gesture winning so impressively at Lingfield has me worried,to be honest i think we saw the Oaks winner on Saturday

looking at the Dams side of Dawn Approach i think there must be a doubt he will stay 1m 4f,In the Timeform Annual Jim Bolger stated that his class and temperament may help him stay 1m 2f,the Derby is 2f further and although the world and his wife think he has it won already i will take him on,the question is which of Galileo`s sons to back against him, perhaps the Dante will offer some important clues

Intello was very impressive at Newmarket, stable mate of his who he beat last year today won the Prix Noailles, its about time Mr fabre had a top class three year old colt,French Derby next i would think.

Very hard to pick this years Arc winner,Danedream deserves to be favourite on her performance last year and the form of the horses behind her (first six have won a grp one this year) but back to back Arcs havent been done since Alleged in 1978.Orfevre is differcult to access a triple crown winner in Japan and winner of the Prix Foy his best form seems to be on a faster surface than he may encounter in Paris.Snow fairy is tough and genuine but a rating of 128 wont be good enough to win an arc.Shareta beaten 5l last year won the Yorkshire Oaks this year but thats well below the form requied to win a Arc.nathaniel has had the Arc as his target all year and his performance in the king George was topclass,on a fast surface over 1m 2f in the Irish Champion stks he was always vunerable to Snow fairy but ran a great race in Defeat which will put him spot on for paris where he more than others will be suited to the likely softer surface.Sanois is the Dark horse,Danedream was supplemented last year at a cost of 100,000 euros and if the French Derby and Prix Niel winners connections do the same then they must be confident of a big run.
cant see Camelot running and Masterstroke needs to improve by at least a stone to win.St Nicholas Abbey will no doubt run his usual solid race but horses beaten in an Arc dont come back and win it the following year,Nathaniel for me

Aidan o`Brien always seems to have a placed horse in the Derby at big odds so i think Imperial Monarch each-way looks a good bet, unproven on a sound surface but is bt Galileo and a half-brother to derby runner-up The Great Gatsby

I like the look of Kissed for the Oaks, half sister to Pour Moi who won on her only start last year and worked well at the curragh last weekend.

Some top-class juveniles this year and Frankel will take some beating in the 2000 Guineas, but don`t forget the forgoten horse Pathfork, good value at 14/1 for the 2000,also i think helleborine on a sound surfaace may take the 1000 Guineas, she was cruising in the prix marcel boussac but couldn`t quicken on the soft ground.Misty for me the winner that day looks like the Oaks winner at this stage, and as for the Derby i like Picture Editor and Nathaniel available at 16/1 and 50/1.
