With the Irish racing starting this week lets start this thread on day one.I know that is the only 2yo race on card. But right to start on day 1.
Has anyone heard any news on this Emperor Hardrian he is a Holy Roman Emperor colt out of Gided Edge.
And any stable tours out yet as well.
March 19, 2010 at 23:07 #284163March 19, 2010 at 23:21 #284168Bloody hell, this must be March Hare day.
I actually tried looking up Emperor Hadrian on Pedigree Query, but the site is down until 7pm Pacific Time. That’s a bit beyond me, because my brain is on Sydney time.
March 19, 2010 at 23:30 #284171Wait a minute, we’ve missed a year out here. Darren is thinking about the 2011 Classics.
Anyway, the reason I was checking the years, was I was thinking this post belongs on the 2009 2yo one. Surely the APOB to take note of on Sunday is this one:-
Encompassing is a Montjeu colt that we really liked last year
March 19, 2010 at 23:40 #284172Was entered in the Horses in Training Sale and looked a complete rogue on his last outing where he simply didn’t want to know the game
March 20, 2010 at 00:33 #284180Aah, so that’d be why he’s writing in the past tense.
March 20, 2010 at 06:42 #284200Holy Roman Emperor is 11/4 favourite to be leading First Season Sire ( based on number of races won by progeny).
I must admit there are quite a few names in the list that are new to me, as they were running towards the end of the period when I didn’t have a telly etc.
March 20, 2010 at 08:39 #284208Sleeping Indian has got some precocious 2yos I believe – he’d be an outside bet for this.
March 20, 2010 at 09:23 #284220
I have genuinely never heard of Sleeping Indian, Martin. I’ll look him up now.
March 20, 2010 at 09:40 #284224Jeez, the Pedigree Query website was closed for maintenance a few hours ago, and it now seems buggered.
I tried adding Sleeping Indian, and Sadler’s Wells doesn’t have any parents!

March 20, 2010 at 18:23 #284348Any other horses in the maiden race to look out for
March 20, 2010 at 18:36 #284350Madeira Man is related to very speedy types
High Award could be good but has a terrible draw as does the above.
Kevin Prendgast usually get out early with his 2yr old so they could be the most forward
March 21, 2010 at 11:28 #284604Don’t know why but i got a strong feeling that Jim Bolger by the end of this year will have a top 2yo colt in the making of Teofilo and New Apporach.
March 21, 2010 at 11:52 #284616Emperor Hadrian is 5/2 at the Sportinglife which is a suprise has they had him 6/4.
However O’Brein has not won this race for 6years so a bit of a curse for him.
March 21, 2010 at 13:54 #284630Yeah I had a quick look at the race earlier and liked Madeira Man so have had 10 on him. Prendergast gets his 2yos winning early and he’s quite stoutly bred too.
March 21, 2010 at 14:21 #284635Holy Roman Emperor leads then
March 21, 2010 at 15:03 #284645Yep!
I’m gonna get a lot of fun out of my £10 @ 3.75.
Just another 2000 or so 2yo races and 9 months to go!
edit: Holy Roma Emperor covered 150 mares, so he’s got a lot of ammo.
