First 2yo race on turf tomorrow in England at Doncaster.Any horses that stand out.
March 26, 2010 at 23:21 #285821Gerald, not to worry you but my very reliable source suggests a figure closer to 110. Can’t remember the exact figure right now but will let you know.
March 27, 2010 at 11:52 #285917Should this thread not be titled "2YO Summary thread 2010"?!
I didn’t know all yee had psychic powers!
March 27, 2010 at 12:39 #285924Yep!
I’m gonna get a lot of fun out of my £10 @ 3.75.
Just another 2000 or so 2yo races and 9 months to go!
edit: Holy Roma Emperor covered 150 mares, so he’s got a lot of ammo.
A fun tenner on Hurricane Run for me.
March 27, 2010 at 16:59 #285960By that well know sire of precocious 2yos – Montjeu.

There seems to have been a recent trend of the St Leger winner being sired by new sires, so Hurricane Run might be one of the favourites to sire the 2011 St Leger winner.

Look out Gerald. Sleeping Indian just got one back at Kempton.
March 27, 2010 at 18:21 #285982I’m also worried about Iceman.
Just did a search for first season sires, and came across a site that I thought had stopped working during the course of the 2009 season. Always new people visiting the forum, so here is another plug for a dedicated 2yo website:-
March 27, 2010 at 20:01 #286009Yeah you are right i made a mistake can someone correct it and put 2010
March 29, 2010 at 12:21 #286256Sleeping Indian off the mark at Doncaster on Saturday
March 29, 2010 at 13:35 #286271We’ve hijacked Darren’s thread. If the title’s going to get changed to 2010, it might as well get changed to New Season Sires 2010!!!

Realistically though, there isn’t too much else to talk about on this thread apart from how the new sires are doing, until the York Dante meeting when the good ‘uns start coming out.
April 18, 2010 at 17:08 #291024Any thoughts on the Bolger horse from yesterday.Head Space won by 5l was impressive
April 30, 2010 at 17:17 #293170The 2nd who was behind Head Space came out and won today beating High Award though that horse had a penalty against him.
So is Head Space the 1st good 2yo we have seen with form working out.
April 30, 2010 at 17:46 #293174Head Space got a nice boost today.
That Stack Animal….was all over the place mind you. Johnny was very annoyed with him as he gave him a whack with the whip in a "suspect area".
May 9, 2010 at 06:42 #2948366f races have started, and it is York this week, so some possible types for Royal Ascot ought to be making an appearance in the next 2-3 weeks.
On the First crop Sires front, Holy Roman Emperor needs to do something to assert his dominance. Currently there are seven sires leading with one win each. Holy Roman Emperor’s solitary win has come from 11 starts – not a good strike rate.
May 9, 2010 at 09:43 #294853I was going through the current 2yos in the Coventry Stakes market and none of them qualify on the trends right now.
May 9, 2010 at 09:48 #294855I was very taken by the performance of Temple Meads at Newmarket. Not a classic pedigree but the way he travelled and quickened was impressive to my eyes. Obviously the Hannon team have Retainer and Zebedee both of whose form has been franked. On ground with cut there’s also Cape To Rio. Hopefully more good ones should emerge in the next couple of weeks as the 6f races really kick in.
May 9, 2010 at 20:44 #295028Some nice 2yo entries on Thursday. Godolphin Mark 2 have Battle of Britain who is a full brother to Lawman, winner of the Prix du Jockey Club and Prix Jean Prat.
