WH first to show….
Master of The Seas – 1/3
Star Safari – 11/10 (Bedouins Story 3s)
No prices on the 15.05Well, we won’t be getting too wealthy off those prices haha!!!
Evening all, or perhaps morning I guess. Sorry to hear of everyones woes and hope things pick up soon. Good things come to good people, so I am sure things will improve.
No prices yet for Meydan but here are my early fancies:
15.05 Dubai Mirage (ew if a reasonable price)
15.40 Master Of The Seas
16.50 Sticking with Star Safari here but would be interested in Bedouins Story if Dubai Mirage runs well in the first race (Dubai Mirage was beaten by a nose by Bedouins Story on 28th January).
Key is to see which bookmaker goes up first as they tend to overprice some of the horses. I suspect Master Of The Seas will be short based on his potential but am hoping an initial inflated price can be snatched. It was Will Hill last time, so lets see.
Happy punting all

Soft Whisper ran an absolute blinder against the boys in the Saudi Derby, she looked like she was going to win. She is going to hose up on World Cup Night, im sure of it. Think shes my new favourite Godolphin horse.
Well played VTC, i naively couldnt see past the fav! Shows what i know!
Well played everyone. I didnt see the Dbai race due to work but will try and catch that again later. Glad to see everyone have some winners.

Very quick skim but here are my arrows:
2.30 Hypothetical 5/1 ew
3.40 Tailors Row 8/1 ew
4.15 Manesk 6/4 (to boost that Soft Whisper form)
4.50 Dbai 11/4
5.25 Althiqa 11/8Good luck all

Couldnt agree more Cork and certainly didnt mean to offend. I know a few who jumped on the Zanahiyr Supreme bandwagon following his entry but Gordon’s interview after the Quilixios race surprised me. Referenced Quilixios as a good ‘substitute’ etc. Perhaps i was reading too much into it but seemed to suggest both run here and that Zanahiyr was much the better. Hopefully its a cracker. Will never forget that 2020 race! The highs and lows of racing
Thanks Jac and well played with all your winners. Seems like youve had a belting week on the betting front!
I had mentioned this on the old threads that I refrenced a few pages back but I cannot stress enough how good Meydan is and that its well worth a visit.
I know our mate Covid is in the way right now but once things settle its an absolute dream trip. I dragged my wife along in 2015 (Prince Bishop), 2016 (California Chrome) and 2017 (Arrogate) and the whole day is just phenomenal. Usually its a 9 race card (which I am sure most know) and they have a massive show inbetween, as well as a concert afterwards. From memory we had Kylie, Janet Jackson and Sia.
Tickets are relatively reasonable (may of course changed) and its no different to Ascot. You can drink plenty (if thats your bag), still place bets on your phone and just have a smashing time.
On the Thursday before the DWC card (again date may have changed), there is a Breakfast With The Stars event (similar to Epsom) where you can watch the horses do track work, take photos with all the trophies (which are HUGE!!!), have an amazing buffet breakfast, listen to all the jockeys, trainers, tipsters and pundits about their horses. Again its very reasonable and back in 2017 (only year we attended BWTS) i had photos taken with Will Buick, Javier Castellano, Mikey Smith, Charlie Appleby, Saaed Bin Suroor, Bob Baffert, Rishi Persad, Nick Luck etc. Its just a top class day and sets up the meeting a few days later.
As i say, Covid has f’d everything up but if you ever get a chance it is well worth attending.
One final piece, just in case I havent whet the appetite enough, they also host a track and stable visit day. It says what it is on the tin but you get to be by the finish line, parade ring, weighing room, meet horses (I think the ones I saw were Mike De Kock’s from memory) but again an absolute must for any race fan.
Obviously all added together would be relatively expensive but if you ever get the opportunity i cannot rave enough.
From my own personal experience, especially with the BWTS event, you are treated like royalty and was one of the best experiences I have ever done and what sort of person would I be if I didnt pass that info on?
Sorry for the long message on a Friday morning.
Have a good day all and happy punting (ps Warwick and Newbury meetings are off!).
Found it….there was a bit more than this where they talk about which one Jack would ride etc. Guess we will find out soon enough what happens with both horses haha

I personally suspect both Zanahiyr and Quilixios will both end up running here (all being well).
I saw RTC with Lydia and Ruby tonight but equally Gordie seemed to suggest that Zanahiyr is the better of the two and seemingly is fairly destined for the Triumph. That was his interview on RTV after Quilixios’ win at the DRF. I am sure someone more intelligent than me will be able to post the interview, or at least quotes.
Also, obviously the stats for 4yo’s in the Supreme arent great. The last 4yo to win the opener was in 1999 under the great combo of AP and Martin Pipe (Hors La Loi III).
Throw in the fact that Noel and Valerie Moran are relatively new to the ownership game and have already shed out a large sum on horses, I suspect they would be keen to get their first winner at Cheltenham. It could of course be in the Supreme but you’d think the Triumph would be the slightly easier of the two.
As always nothing is set in stone but Triumph would be where I’d send him if he were mine.
Well played winners.
Work continues to be crazy (hence the late response) so I havent seen any replays but its very rare for me to get everything right for a change! 6/4 on Secret Protector was a steal.
Roll on next week – hopefully I might get to actually watch the races!
Great arrows Jac – well played

Morning all, two arrows for tomorrow and like Jac, am sticking with the boys in blue….
15.05 Star Safari 3/1 (WH)
15.40 Secret Protector 6/4 (WH)Not very original but I think they both go off shorter.
Am also interested to see how Dubai Warrior goes on the dirt. 2/1 looks short enough to me but could be saying the opposite afterwards!
Good luck all

Hey Jac,
Typically the one i didnt back won! Nvm i didnt fancy much anyway and missed all the races due to work.
Just caught a replay of Matterhorn :-(.
Well played winners and onwards & upwards for next week.

Morning all,
Work has been crazy busy so I havent had much chance to look at the runners. However that hasnt stopped be backing some!
2.30 – Taamol 4/1 Sky Bet (MB if 2nd or 3rd)
4.15/4.50 – Matterhorn / Last Sunset 11/4 double Sky BetI havent had a bet on this but not sure how convincing Naval Crown will be on dirt, so if I were to have a play in the UAE 2000 Guineas it would be Mouheeb @ 2/1 but will be a no bet race for me.
Good luck all

Evening all.
I used to comment on the Meydan thread all the time but couldnt find it until now! Great to have some decent flat races whilst the jumps crew guide their way through the mud, frost and snow.
Anywho two ive backed for tomorrow:
15.40 – Star Safari – 100/30 Paddy Power
16.50 – Soft Whisper 13/8 Skybet – I am just a sucker for a story and loved seeint Frankie ride a winner for SBS once again.
Good luck all
