Fantastic racing at Riyadh today just had to have a few speculative bets…

    RIYADH
Can’t see SPACE BLUES getting beaten in the 1.35 today…too short to back so going for …

    2.10 .. SECRET ADVISOR .. 5/1
    4.10 .. REBELS ROMANCE .. 3/1 *NAP*
    4 50 .. SWITZERLAND ..7/1

Win on each + Win Trixie

Taking a chance on Secret Advisor ridden by William Buick today who has a good chance in an intriguing race :good:

Been waiting for Rebels Romance to appear at Meydan and he turns up at Riyadh. He takes on talented filly Soft Whisper today but feel this is a tough task for her.
Rebels Romance is a big player for Godolphin and expecting a big run from him today.

Switzerland always turns in a good performance at these events.

Great racing here today . :good:

I’ve backed my competition choices today

    2.40 Haydock – Potters Legend 18/1 Paddy Power E/W 5 places

He’s a genuine stout type who’s won round here and was only beaten
last time out by Royal Pagaille who’s a 10/1 shot for the gold Cup.
he’s been dropped a couple of pounds for that race, not sure why,
and he’s got a decent chance.

    3.00 Ascot – L’Ami Serge 20/1 Paddy Power 5 places

He’s a class act and although he might be getting towards the twilight of
his career he’s been dropped 5lbs since his last run at the Festival to be
running off his lowest mark for 5 years. It could be a bit of a worry that
he’s been off for nearly a year, but his form after his long breaks reads
2,1,1,4,2,2,2 so he seems to go well fresh.

    3.35 Ascot – Dashel Drasher 11/2 Skybet

If Cyrname can produce anything like the form of his win in this 2 years
back or in the Charlie hall last October then the rest are going to have
a fine view of his fast disappearing butt. However, he didn’t travel an
inch in the King George. That might have been a blip, but it was a very poor
run and even money or shorter feels far too short considering. DD is clearly
progressing and a raise of 15lbs for his last 2 seems fair. Both those runs
here, so no reason why he won’t put on another good performance.

3.18 Wincanton – Song For Someone evens Bet365

I must admit I’m right out of my comfort zone here backing an even money
favourite, but even with his penalty I can’t see him getting beat. He won
as he liked here back in November and as my idea of the Champion Hurdle winner
is Silver Streak then beating him last time out, albeit by a nose, is just
about as strong as form gets. Goshen’s running when unseating at the last in
the Triumph Hurdle would definitely put him in the picture, but he’s just not
    looked the same horse since.

Good luck Krypton with your magnificent 7 today, especially L’Ami Serge, and Jac
good luck with you Riyadh bets. What a card that is with $30,000,000 in prize
    money

I’ll just add another one that I think has a squeak

1.50 Ascot – Hurricane Harvey 11/1 Paddy Power

Did well to fight back and get the better of Emitom last back end
and showed he was good in a scrap last time when winning at Doncaster.
Has to shoulder a 5lb penalty but has a good attitude and might just
    see them off again

So much good racing today! Good Luck with all your bets.

I loved seeing Hollie Doyle win for Willie in Riyadh!

I picked Potters Corner as well Graham – hope I don’t jinx him for you  I think he has a good chance in the race, he love Haydock too. Just hope he comes home safe. I also like Malaya in the Betfair Hurdle – such a competitive race.

    Stay Safe Everyone

Just Switzerland holding the fort now in Riyadh and The Hulk tonight at Newcastle my pick 3 compy choice.

Thanks Jac, I only had bet the ones above, and was just about to
leave it for tomorrows racing before DB saved my bacon. It cleared
my day so chanced my arm in the next at Wincanton…..

    Well done BigG

I have to report I have broken my toe.. opposite one to last time. :rose:
Was messing around with Alex, ran up the stairs and smashed it into a plug socket sticking out of the wall
Can’t put any weight on it again
at least shielding has extended to end of March
imagine being off since start of January and due back Monday and saying I can’t walk… :rose:

Soft Whisper ran an absolute blinder against the boys in the Saudi Derby, she looked like she was going to win. She is going to hose up on World Cup Night, im sure of it. Think shes my new favourite Godolphin horse.

Bloody hell Nathan, you could have done without doing your toe again
Are you sure it’s broken, maybe just staved in which can be agony. I
remember being over in Spain, my mum had a house over there, and I was
running (sort of) and she had these armchairs with solid big round wooden
legs. I caught my little toe at full pelt, I thought I was going to throw
up. I hope it doesn’t take too long to get better, you’ve been through
    the wars mate :-(

My bones are weak due to tablets I take post kidney transplant
Hope you are right BigG and not broke but even if it is don’t think they can do anything for it as was told last time at A+E to rest it and it will heal itself in its own time
I know the feeling of almost throwing up.. The crack it made when it happened was so loud thought you might have heard up north. My toe was black within minutes, colour has eased now.
I won’t post a photo incase anyone is eating their tea… :rose:

Decided I was going to watch the big race at Riyadh, I’ve never watched a
£7,299,270 race. Taken Tacticus at 12/1 Paddy Power and just on the
chance that Hollie Doyle can work her magic again I’ve taken Extra Elusive 40/1 E/W Paddy Power. It’s almost obscene that there is a race worth that much

Poor you Nathan 👀 I remember last time you did it and how long it took to get better, but at least we’re not going anywhere yet with this lockdown and with lots of rest it will soon be on the mend.

Thanks for not posting up a picture of your poor old toe Nathan but here’s an idea…
…perhaps you could surprise Tank & Co and pop it on their Photo Thread in the Lounge it might get one or two likes from the reminiscent bunch of old posters and that Ian Davies bloke might even want to make it his Avatar. ;-) ..
Just trying to help you smile through the pain..it’s no joke though.

Hope Graham’s right and it’s not broken and good that the bruising came out quickly. Take care and don’t kick anything harder than a cotton wool ball. Jac x :rose:

Well done with your getting out bet Graham :good: I had a terrible day results wise and it all started off at Lingfield in the 2.01 when Lethal Lunch one of my 3 horses was making a devastating run down the rail only to be stopped almost dead..he ran on but all chance was gone..sure fire winner next time out. If you get a chance it’s worth a watch to see if you agree. :good:

Missed that huge race in Riyadh but noticed John Gosden won it with Mishriff..Frankie rode Global Giant around 18/1 unplaced which would have been my choice so best I missed that one.

Looking forward to seeing Champ out at last tomorrow.. just bring him home safely..after we lost so many lovely horses today.⚘⚘⚘

I have to agree with you Jac, Lethal Lumch looked to be making
a winning run when having to be reined in heavily. No chance
after that but I’ve added him to the tracker, he’s a definite
bet next time out. Thanks for pointing him out :good:

    I ended with 2 good winners, buy again it’s a day I wish I
hadn’t seen. L’ami is one of my favourites, I had him as my
nap in the competition even though he was 28/1. I saw what
happened when he went wrong after the 6th hurdle and felt sick.
Such a shame, especially because this was probably his last
year before being retired. Poor boy.
