    Thanks Botchy

Here’s hoping Gordon can get him there in one piece, if he does then I really like his chances

Hi Botchy, what do you mean by the trainer requesting a handicap mark for Champagne Classic?

Secret Reprieve was impressive today, now favourite for this.

I wonder will they let Native River run?

Military March does not have a similar form look to Eminent.

Eminent had a prep before the Guineas, Military March used the Guineas to prep for the Derby.

Eminent was drawn next to the winner in the Guineas.

Military March was surrounded by Mums Tipple, Royal Dornoch and Starcat. He had a poor draw nqat.

Throw in a jockey nut use to racing in Classics, lighting fast ground and a strong wind behind the horses, then Military March did really well for a horse that is bred for middle distances.

Ok, I had hoped he would finish the race more strongly but Crouch was very easy on him in the closing stages. He certainly was ridden to ‘run on past beaten horses’ as I had expected.

I suspect Coolmore would be more than happy to see Camelot’s English King win the Derby.

I wonder whether having the favourite running for them (Coolmore) would influence the size of the squad Ballydoyle send over to Epsom?

Mogul is entered in the Gallinule on Friday evening at the Curragh. However, if he runs he carries a 5 lb penalty.

Istabraq, I too was a little disappointed with how he finished the race. It’s certainly put a seed of doubt in my mind.

In mitigation, the jockey was not hard on him once the winner went passed him.

However, if you had offered me 4th before the race I would have gladly taken it(as a trial for the Derby), but the way he finished the race has put doubt in my mind.

The winner was clearly hard fit for the race, I’m hoping the trainer of MM left a bit to work on with a view to the Derby.

Thanks Frenchy for the reply. Unlike you, I believe Military March has a very good future. I was very taken with his Autumn Stakes win. I think he will excel over 12furlongs. He’s got the looks, the breeding and an excellent attitude. He earned a very good speed rating for that Autumn Stakes win and was very strong on the line.

Mike, I’m very intrigued to see how he copes with likely fast ground. He moves like he enjoys a bit of cut in the ground. It’s not an overly round action so he could get away with it, but it is a worry for both the Guineas and the Derby.

Frenchy, why do you think Military March will bomb in the Guineas?
