One ruler now fav on the exchange after MOTS wins the craven
Cant have that at all personally
April 15, 2021 at 16:46 #1536602I don’t often lay horses, but i’d say he’s a good shout to lay now + back again at a bigger price if you wished. He’s no 11/2 shot coming there fresh. We know one trainer that can do it, and we know one that ain’t done it.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 15, 2021 at 16:53 #1536603I wouldnt be worried about one of Applebys going to a race fresh
Hes very good at getting them ready first run of the season
I just dont see what form he has that makes him single figures let alone 5/1
April 15, 2021 at 16:57 #1536604His form ties in with mac swiney, van gogh and cadillac yet he’s 3 times shorter than them
April 15, 2021 at 19:37 #1536637Hoping that Racing Post Trophy was a very good race last year, just a shame Wembley never ran in it in a way, but he might of been a been OTT anyway and the ground was really bad. I think Cadillac is heading off to the Irish Guineas and Mac Swiney almost certainly wants further but not the biggest shock if he rocked up here as a Derby trial still.
That 30’s on the exchange for the Coolmore horse was really tempting and just gave in to it eventually.
Never seen a 2YO like this one before, an absolute giant, must of been a foot bigger than anything else. Love was similar as a 2YO in a way running ok in decent enough races, struggled a bit to win his maiden but that run at Newmarket really put him down as a potential classic horse. I think with a clear run he may just of beat One Ruler there.
It was a massive step up to run second anyway and he fairly bolted up in that G1 in France on ground he may not of liked. Fifty fifty he runs but you can sort of see it. Everyone was talking about Saxon Warrior as a Derby horse and he flew under the radar also leading into it.
April 15, 2021 at 19:45 #1536639For massive races? I’d have it as a negative for most other than AOB myself.

I really like him for the Derby. Looks to have a lovely blend of speed and stamina and was just starting to get the hang of things late on last year.
April 25, 2021 at 14:35 #1537916I was doing a bit of digging into a thought I’d had regarding how bad a fit Wembley would be as a Guineas winner and it turns out the last winner to have not won on either of his first two career starts (a significant amount won on debut including the last 3) was in 1990. Technically this would make St Marks Bascilica a bad fit too as he took 3 goes but in fairness to him his 2nd attempt was the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and he ran very respectably there and actually went off favourite. Wembley has no such excuses they ran him in 4 maidens and it was that 4th time of asking that he finally got his sole win as a 2 year old. Such horses just don’t win Guineas’ do they?
April 25, 2021 at 15:27 #1537920AOB did mention that he wasnt able to train his 2 yr olds normally (he used the word ‘mess’) last year coz of Covid. So trends might get busted.
April 25, 2021 at 19:29 #1537948Mike007, I’d be surprised if It was only AOB it affected
April 25, 2021 at 19:39 #1537953True. He’s got plenty of horses though and good ones too and I imagine he usually has a plan.
Feel free to take him on next week if you wish.April 25, 2021 at 19:50 #1537955Talking about Van Gogh Botchy?
Soz Kev, missed that. Yeah i was on about VG.
Still not convinced he will turn up nevermind win, but there seems to be plenty backing him this week for this and the Derby which gives a bit of hope. Might be nothing but very similar to Love last year in the week leading up to the race when she was got totally battered in the betting
April 25, 2021 at 20:05 #1537958Willow didn’t exactly do a lot for American Pharaoh today as she was supposed to be a leading Oaks hope for them. Still hype for me VG. AOBs been quite open about making a mess of the juveniles last year by rushing them for Ascot and some of them didn’t respond very well. Wembley could be one of those horses that they messed up hence why it took him 4 goes to win a maiden. I think it would be foolish to ignore what he did out of maiden company into Group 1 company personally. He took that in his stride.
If you look at it another way TTM how many horses go from maiden company into Group 1 company and place twice and nearly win?
The good ones that’s who.
April 26, 2021 at 15:03 #1538016After all the one ruler chat buick has chosen to ride master of the seas
April 26, 2021 at 18:33 #1538050Didn’t see that coming. I’d side with smb and he looks a miler whereas Wembley I think will be better over further.
April 26, 2021 at 19:26 #1538061Not surprised at all he’s chosen Master of the Seas, looks a better horse, has better form and CA even said after the Craven he’s quicker than One Ruler. Was amazed at the gamble on One Ruler.
SMB drifting is also no surprise, he was best suited to the ground in the Dewhurst and got a good draw. Ryan Moore more or less confirmed what I believe which is he was on the best horse in the Dewhurst.
Whether Wembleyhas enough pace to win the Guineas? Yeah slight questionmark for me but he should be suited to a step up anyway and he looks like he’ll get the ground he wants. AOB confirmed that today
April 26, 2021 at 19:49 #1538065I wouldn’t take notice of the betting. I’m sure even aiden has no idea who will be best on the day. I think the guineas is smbs target whereas I think Wembley and Van Gogh will be targeted at longer distances. Aiden also has battleground remember for later on in the season. I’d be surprised if master of the seas is good enough imho. At least we knows he’s race fit and has trained on whereas most of the field we’ve no idea how they are and won’t find out till the race itself. Aiden has an amazing record of winning the guineas with horses without a prep race.
