Baradar
Took a bit of the big prices on the exchanges, not a clue if he runs, but got to be a fair possibility he runs in a trial soon.
Took a big step forward to be 3rd when supplemented for the old Racing Post Trophy last season. Was going as well as anything for most the race, and possibly got outstayed on that ground by a couple of smart ones in Mac Swinney and One Ruler.
Muhaarar stepped up massively from 2 to 3 and preferred faster ground, so would not be the biggest surprise in the world for him to improve again this year, which would put him bang there for some Group races

Imprudence & Djebel are taking place on Thursday
April 6, 2021 at 14:33 #1534680Nothing much in the Djebel it looks like although Normandy Bridge runs, so that would give us a pointer to the form of Van Gogh
April 6, 2021 at 14:38 #1534681TTC by the way, it’s definitely not a race you can’t take a position on, in fact it’s one of the best races to take an early position on for me. 18/20 winners had already recorded an RPR of at least 110 as a Juvenile and horses with a joint sire index of less than 17 and trading at 14/1 or lower in the market are 0/30 .
You can form a pretty good shortlist from that!
April 6, 2021 at 14:45 #1534684Aye Frenchy, but I like to know what horses connections are actually planning to run before having a bet!
BUY THE SUN
April 6, 2021 at 14:57 #1534688We have a pretty good idea of that though I think. Plus you’d never bet antepost if base it on that?
April 6, 2021 at 20:22 #1534750‘The Lads’ make it more difficult than most in that regard. Quite a bit of talk about ‘High Definition’ being re-routed to Newmarket, for example. Doesn’t help.
BUY THE SUN
April 6, 2021 at 22:18 #1534765It’ll be Wembley, SMB and Battleground. Possibly VG but I’d be very surprised if HD goes. He’ll throw a couple of other ones in there as something or other tactically
April 6, 2021 at 22:40 #1534770Listens ‘something or others’ can be bloody dangerous in Classics mind. More the Derby and 1000 Guineas than this, admittedly.

April 12, 2021 at 08:45 #1535988Obrein on battleground in the racing post stable tour
“Hes getting ready for the Guineas, but whether he’ll run at newmarket or not isn’t decided yet. Its possible we’ll go the curragh or France with battleground.”
St Marks basilica sound like he’s definitely going by the comment and wembley very likely
April 12, 2021 at 08:46 #1535989I can’t imagine The Lads having a Classic winner names ‘Wembley’.

April 12, 2021 at 09:30 #1535993Smbasilica and Wembley were always going to newmarket. The talk of high definition going was probably just as cover. High definition will probably run in an Irish derby trial or even the Chester vase. Love to see him go there. Listen has always had the derby in mind for hd and he looks ideal for it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dewhurst front three dominate the guineas but in which order is open to question.

Says derrinstowm Derby trial for high definition
April 12, 2021 at 10:03 #1535996Hmm. A fair point!
Yes I read the Derrinstown. I hope he wins well there too – I would be against him at Epsom, so it would be nice for him to take a big chunk of the market up. Looked an awkward enough ride as a 2yo, can see him wheelspinning around Epsom. Reminds me a bit of Gypsy King.
I digress! Thank the lord, the flat is back.
BUY THE SUN
April 12, 2021 at 20:04 #1536068Battleground is drifting tonight. He mentions of Wembley “He’s got a lot of class through a race and travels really strong”
That is tailor made for the Guineas.
April 12, 2021 at 20:26 #1536074Yes he’s now a similar price to one ruler on the exchanges almost twice what he was before
SMB, Wembley and thunder moon similar prices
April 12, 2021 at 20:31 #1536076Playingfieldsofeton was one character too many.
