Can’t see past Al Aasy as well FF and Mike, should simply be too Al Classy (

I presume we are also close to a time where Mr. Moore can identify as an apprentice and start claiming 7lbs again.

Fair enough racing is attempting to mix things up a bit and attempt different formats in order to harness interest amongst the masses, but as far as winning ideas go, neither of these are it.
I’d much rather see a jockey format that I can actually get behind, like ‘whites v blacks’ or ‘foreigners v BNP’.
Come on the girls!
Was looking like we had a Ronaldinho 2.0 situation going for a moment there but thankfully we just managed to get one back before half time.
Cheers for doing this again Nath, I too spent far too much time changing my team over the past week lol, I’m currently raging that Arteta has benched Gabiel in favour of Partey, who I thought was a midfielder, and some random left back I’ve never heard of.
“Good to soft …. Heavy to quicksand by 3.30 going by what I saw on tv , I’ve see heavy at Ayr and Carlisle …up North , but that was grim yesterday”
To be honest this debate is not a hill I am willing to die on due to my lack of in-depth knowledge when it comes to the effects of rain on soil
so maybe we’ll never get to the bottom of it.I just felt a touch bad for the clerk after reading some of the abuse he was receiving online (and don’t worry, I don’t mean on this forum), from people who most likely hadn’t visited the track any time recently. It’s easy for people to say “clerk must be having us on, ground can’t go from g/s to heavy/unraceable, when maybe in fact, given a very peculiar set of circumstances, it is indeed possible.
However, like I said, I’m no expert on ground, just wanted to do my best Ginger impression and give a bit of balance to the argument.
But I’m glad I was of assistance last week, I sure as hell didn’t win any money on my bets lol but hopefully it at least helped some of you lose a little less than you otherwise would have

To be honest Goodwood is an incredibly unique place, its positioning, at the top of a hill, right infront of a valley, also right by the sea, means it has its own climate, it’s regularly windy as hell up there when there’s no wind anywhere else, or not windy at all when it’s incredibly windy a few minutes away, or the same with rain.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the ground was soft, gd-soft in places and then became as bad as it did. The weather has been terrible for weeks, meaning not as much rain as usual would be required to change the going. Unless you were there yesturday you’ll struggle to understand the level of monsoon that hit the track during the card. I think people also fail to realise it was dry for over 24 hours before yesturday, with the winds up there that’s certainly enough to dry the ground out, the clerk did his walk prior to 7am when it was still dry, however it started raining less than 30mins after him and the crew had finished their walk and it rained almost non-stop (baring a few 5min spells where it stopped) until the first race at 1.50pm. That’s almost 7 hours of rain! And that 7 hours of rain wasn’t even the heaviest stuff, the heaviest stuff came right before and then even heavier during the 3.00pm (and lasted for approximately 15minutes), I watched that race from the track and walked to my car after the race, I cannot tell you how wet I became in those 15 minutes, my clothes were absolutely drenched, my car seat is actually still wet and soggy from when I sat in it, my trousers were almost falling down my ankles (not a pretty sight) due to the amount of extra weight they were carrying from all of the water that’d just fallen.
Having been there almost every day for the past 2 months, I’m not at all surprised that the going could have changed as much as it did throughout the day. Typically enough, it’s really sunny here now! Fingers crossed the Bank Holiday meeting is kinder to us.
lol well that was both unexpected and very impressive
Likewise, your welcome Jac!
Cody’s Wish running in about 15mins at Saratoga (10.42pm)
I used to hate “Tanya’s market movers”, she’d go on about a horse going from 10-3 to 3/1 as though it was some sort of Barney Curley coup.
