It was a dreadful ride by R Hills on Youmzain today – stuck on the rails behind good horses is the last place you want to be in the Arc – and by the time the horse got out Zarkava had flown . He said the gap closed – rubbish there never was a gap
FWIW I have no doubt she would have beaten him anyway but he would have been a much clearer second and probably bustled her up to produce more as she won so comfortably.
IMO the horse got the stinking ride the owner deserved.
I am quite pleased – there was far too much classy racing on Slappers Day when Donny is pretty grim and the support card for the Leger was always crap – too many tedious hcaps and the Flying Childers
Good luck with sorting out the teething problems . Site looks good .

Not if you watch the 1965 KG you wouldn’t. Dunkirk the brilliant two mile chaser who sadly died in the race was reeled in by Arkle before he fell as if he were a plater .
I was surprised to read that Arkle did not have brilliant acceleration in a post above – that is not what accounts of the Gallaher Gold Cup or that amazing Whitbread film when off 12-7 he seems to rocket round Sandown’s hoem turn – lead you to believe.

Garde Champetre is another Jonjo horse being persevered with over fences against all the evidence
Quote: from Lincoln Duncan on 7:31 pm on Nov. 14, 2006[br]Racing Demon will never beat decent opposition (Monkerhostin, Ashley Brook, Thisthatandtother etc) while he continues to jump to his right and to jump erratically.
Aztec Warrior, on the other hand, jumps like an old hand and was mighty impressive today. Of the two, there’s only one I’d want . . .
Quote: from Racing Daily on 2:01 pm on Nov. 18, 2006[br]Looks like KS stays :)
Shocked at the way IG dropped out like a lame duck. Not the horse of old, the same as KC. Shocking runs from both.
KS immensely impressive – not to be opposed until he gets beaten !
I can’t see why anyone would be shocked at IG’s run . I am just shocked he is continued with at this levle over fences .
The chances of him staying in the Welsh National are nil . I urge connections to put him back over hurdles or better still retire him .
Looks like another example of they never come back to me.
His sister Spanish Sun of course won the Ribblesdale on her seasonal debut before going wrong in the Irish oaks.
Very impressive long striding animal – soon put the Godolphin animal in its pace. Cecil’s pair Passage of Time and Walking talking both ran as if better times are ahead at Warren Place.
Measured Tempo impressed me too – gorgeously bred – full sister to Anabaa Blue – three parts sister to Galileo
His jumping was a bit better today but he was very dicey up the straight and struggled over the last two. Here is a horse that put the best staying hurdler of recent memory Baracouda to the sword but is at best a useful staying chaser
He will never ever be anywhere near as good a chaser as a hurdler. To take encouragement from today is to just foster continuing false hope.
The criticism of AP is nonsense- AP is only ever forceful if he has to be . He is perfectly capable of sitting quietly if that suits the horse. IG is just not a natural chaser , like many of the best hurdlers.
Christian Williams was No2 and Tizzard 3 or 4
L’Ami possibly – Innox don’t make me laugh .
Quote: from Drone on 5:06 pm on Oct. 23, 2006[br]That sounds similar to the injury Fallon had. In his case it was touch and go for a while whether he’d lose the use of his arm.
Torn/damaged brachial plexus nerves are a serious but all too typical ‘shear’ injury resulting from landing on a shoulder at speed; a frequent complication of motorcycle accidents.
Dunwoody’s career was ended by a similar injury was it not ? It is very sad for a young man like Christian Williams but I have to admit I never rated him and thought his style very agricultural.
AP jocked off Iris’s Gift
A somewhat extraordinary decision in my opinion to switch to Dominic Elsworth considering that JP has no staying chasers of note.
Any views ?
What a cracking effort – hope she has a profitable winter.
A sentiment with which much of the racing public would agree !
Except Lammtarra
