Peaty, i’m not English by birth and none of this is emotion, i’ve played football for a long time and this is my opinion, you obviously don’t have one and would rather throw bombs…. If you have a view share it otherwise keep your comments to yourself.. I never said Neville was a world beater, he’s just pretty useful. In the past 3 seasons the guys become a much better player. Obviously Alex Ferguson has no idea thats why he’s kept faith with him?! Or do you want to tear him down?
I agree that Sven may be tactically not the strongest but in truth the guys got a pretty decent record at club level, better than any Englishman currently managing. Brazilian managers have never been tactical geniuses, normally what happens is they say, we’ve got the best attacking players in the world so we’ll play them all and score more than anyone else… Jose Mourinho’s ideal is the opposite, defend from all areas of the park and out muscle and work your opponents. Football is a simple game, the teams with the best players will out in the end… I still think England have a great chance.. But obviously nobody else does….
Yeah but all you keep saying is reasons why they aren’t I was looking for reasons as to why other teams are better which you haven’t provided. It’s my opinion. This is the best chance England have since I was born!!

5 at the back would be suicide and have you not watched Joe Cole this season? Why would you ever play Ashley Cole at left midfield. If Sven went into the world cup with that as plan A then he truly would be a moron. All he needs to do is pick the obvious team, tell them to play up tempo and in everyones faces and they’ll be very hard to beat…

Not to mention Ashley Cole arguably the worlds best left back, Michael Owen, who has one of the best scoring records in international football, Some g*ylord called becks who aint bad and Joe Cole probably the most improved player in the premiership…. Even Gary Neville is pretty useful..<br>The backbone of the team is pretty much unparralelled.. Brazils central midfield and defence is ageing and weak, <br>and other than that I can’t think of a worthy challenger bar Germany who will no doubt be strong on home soil. Don’t be arrogant about it, if Rooney hadn’t got injured England would have won Euro 2004 and would be joint favourites…. Justifications?!?!?!?
I’m surprised your all so negative about Englands chances, Brazil are far too short for me, on paper England are the best side in the world…. And who said leaky defence!!! I thought that Opera Cape and Horatio Nelson looked two very good horses yesterday.. I would have backed opera cape off the boards had HN not been running. They should be higher in the ratings, given soft ground Opera Cape will be one of the best milers next year and the way HN stayed and battled as well as his size means he has to be a hot Derby contender…
I’m of the opinion he’ll improve and whilst maybe he won’t win the GC I think The sun alliance is well within his radar. Kicking King was well beaten by Beef or Salmon early last season and people wrote him off, now he’s the best horse around at 3m. IG has the look of a winner to me. There was an interesting thread about whether horses know, are aware of or want to win, IG is a horse that I would say wants to win and shouldn’t be dismissed so easily.. Anything that can fend off a challenge from baracouda gains my respect!
Anyone got a view on Donna Blini? I think her form over 6f on a sound surface looks pretty solid and at 12/1 I think she’s a good shout. Her or Nidhaal for me…
I think people get too caught up with McCoy giving horses a hard ride.. To use an analogy, some people are great footballers but will only be great because of their manager who gives them a b*llocking each week when they don’t perform, you could say that McCoy is the best motivator of NH horses there is, his style is just more obvious.. McCoy and Carberry are like comparing Stuart Pearce and Erickson…. And who would the public go for?
