<br>Taking into account this weekends results in France and unless Godolphin and Stoute etc have some as yet unraced stars, it’s gonna be a  Ballydoyle domination of next years top 3yo races, if normal progression takes place

    Thoughts ?

Sorry I’m being picky, but you’ve got Ivan Denisovitch in the list twice.

Correct.<br>Weekend results in France illustrated the relative strenght of the Balldoyle outfit juveniles compared with Godolphin.<br>I understand that Ballydoyle have another potential top notcher as yet unseen on the course (name escapes me).<br>Of course Godolphin have bought up Silca`s Sister who will now be at the top of the 1000 Guineas market with Rumpelstilskin now that Flashy Wings has been exposed.<br>Admirable though the performance was, it was difficult to be too taken with Amadeus Wolf`s performance last week in a 6 runner or so affair.<br>Red Clubs- reliable yardstick.<br>Hannon reckons others in his yard will improve past his colts in the list.<br>

I’ve mentioned the colt before, but Sir Percy is improving and could make them all run in the Dewhurst, (if he runs).  I’d back him against six of the horses rated above him in the list, (though perhaps not GW, if he’s considered better than Horatio Nelson).

Highly thought of at Tregoning’s yard.

"now that Flashy Wings has been exposed"<br>Has been exposed doing what exactly? Running on well at the end of 6f? Exposed herself as being not just a  speedster? <br>For me the Cheveley Park threw up more questions than answers for Flashy Wings.<br>She may not deserve 1000 Guineas favouritism anymore but i’d disagree that she was exposed.<br>Agree about Amadeus Wolf.

exposed as in being an early season 2 year old that others have caught up with<br>she may be doing a lot of things next year but one of them wont be winning a classic

    What has happened to Zavone?

Looked an absolute speedball but has disappeared – hope this one is alright as it looked very very talented and the form is rock solid…

I’m not saying she’ll win a classic, and 2 nks 3rd in the Cheveley Park is hardly the form of an ‘exposed as an early season 2yo’ IMHO.<br>

I thought that Opera Cape and Horatio Nelson looked two very good horses yesterday.. I would have backed opera cape off the boards had HN not been running. They should be higher in the ratings, given soft ground Opera Cape will be one of the best milers next year and the way HN stayed and battled as well as his size means he has to be a hot Derby contender…

To clarify my comments about Flashy Wings.<br>Admirable season but finished with 2 defeats.<br>Pipped in the sales race at odds on .Excuses were weight concession plus nothing to race with.<br>3rd in the Cheveley Park beaten not far but fair and square. On that occasion she looked and ran like a 2 yr old filly who has been racing since mid April and was crying enough.<br>Can be expensive making excuses for beaten horses.<br>Reckon others will improve past her.

I can appreciate the opinions in this thread.

I suppose I may have read the Cheveley Park race wrongly, or even, more importantly it seems, in a different way to others. To which-ever end it proves to be, it would appear that I am on to a loser.

I better quit while i’m only slightly worse than midfield. I suppose she is exposed? Retire her Mick; it is as good as proven she’ll not win a Group class race next year.

I will also have to come to terms with the hammer blow that others will progress past her. In essence I guess this has been softened by her 2 defeats. I despise these under-priced early 2yo fillies tricking me all the time.

I sincerely hope nobody has lost any of their ‘hard earned’ on this no hoper by supporting her for any Group race in the 3rd year of her short career.

COOL CREEK is to tackle the $500,000 Lane’s End Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland on Saturday as a stepping stone to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Belmont Park.<br>Richard Hannon wants to give his Mill Reef Stakes winner experience of an American dirt course before his bid for the two-year-old colts event on October 29.

Richard Hughes had been booked to partner the son of Desert Style and Hannon said: “The Keeneland race is a valuable prize in its own right and it makes sense to take this opportunity to give him some practice on dirt and to see if its worth letting him have a crack at the Juvenile.

“He’s out of a Canadian-bred mare and I’ve been delighted with him since Newbury. He did the job well that day and the form looks rock solid. It just shows how unlucky he was in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster where he got stopped in his run.â€ÂÂ

Thank You for you wise words. I shall not be having any financial interest in the filly, that was never the plan, nor the original run-in with the law. <br>No, I only occasionally bet these days. I tend to prefer to watch races now, through an indistinguishable wicked haze of emotional attachment……it would appear.<br>Sorry to be a burden.<br>2 Year olds this year though eh. What a talented bunch. Is anyone aware (apart from Empty’s piece on Cool Creek ) of any juveniles intending to go to the States this Autumn?

I can’t say who might be going to the States this autumn but I doubt there will be any French juveniles. There seems to be a real paucity of quality here this year. After two years of Six Perfections and Divine Proportions there is nothing in 2005.

Gwenseb and New Girlfriend flattered only to deceive earlier in ther season. Quiet Royal may be the best hope, having run a good 2nd to Rumplestiltskin in the Boussac last Sunday. Mauralakanna might also be interesting being the first French-trained home in the Lagardere, but comfortably behind Rumple and Opera Cape. But the reality is that most of the good Group races for juveniles have gone to visitors such as Silca’s Sister and Confidential Lady. Of the colts Spirito del Vento was quite well backed in the Lagardere but dropped away tamely. Carlotamix might be a possibility but we need to see more evidence.

Maybe this is further evidence of the Coolmore/Ballydoyle domination this year. But the reality must be that next year’s French Classics will look tempting to the British and Irish.
