All this happening while I’m away on holiday Joni, I’ll keep checking in here to see how they all get on especially Eminent
who I hope, like you, he goes to Ireland on Saturday for the Champion Stakes and runs away with it.Really excited also about BettyF coming out again and dropped in class she should scoot home and claim the £10,000 Bonus if she runs.

All these Frankel’s are so beautifully bred and some of the mares will have returned to Frankel and be in foal once more to himself. He really is doing us all proud…Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 7, 2017 at 18:26 #1316860Rhodes House went through the ring for just 2k!
September 7, 2017 at 21:27 #1316867What a weekend in store for us Frankel fans. Possibly as many as 15 runners in England, Ireland and France with several beautifully bred 2 year-olds and a whole host of Group entries.
Tomorrow sees the debuts of Herculean and Wadilsfa at Ascot. Herculean is the full brother to Fair Eva and has been backed into favouritism. Ryan Moore rides. I know that Owen Burrows thinks the world of Wadlisfa as well so hopefully they will both go well.
On Saturday in Ireland we have Lightening Quick, a daughter of Lightening Pearl, running in a maiden followed by Nelson running in a Group 3 and then Eminent in the Champion. At Haydock we will see Learn By Heart in the Ascendant Stakes followed by Queen Kindly in the Sprint Cup.
And then on Sunday we will see Lady Frankel in the Group 1 Prix Moulin preceded by Finche and Cracksman in the Prix Niel. Very excited. Let’s hope they all run well.

September 7, 2017 at 23:20 #1316891Even in Germany there will be a Frankel (so far he is the only one) named King’s Advice running at Düsseldorf on Sunday!
September 8, 2017 at 12:14 #1316912Some nice Frankel prospects today but looking at the form I had to go for Merlin Magic at 11/4 last night.
Elsworth’s colt ran Purser close last time and that horse ran a good race in the Solario next time. I would be reasonably confident Merlin’s Magic can run a 90 plus race today, so that sets a decent target for newcomers to best.
In addition Archie McKellar made a promising start and Wadilsafa would probably be attracting more attention if the fav were not a full brother to Fair Eva.
All in all, I think it’s risky taking Herculean at about 6/4. He could be anything of course but I just felt Merlin Magic has met two decent horses already and would be unlucky to meet more good ones again here. It’s speculation with the newcomers and at 11/4 I felt the bird in the hand was worth two in Kate Bush.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 8, 2017 at 15:00 #1316927A Frankel 1-2 as Merlin Magic runs well below his previous form today.
Looking at Herculean in the paddock he stood out and I felt anything he did today would be bettered in time, and probably on better ground. I feel he has more substance than Fair Eva did and I backed him for the Guineas at 33/1.
Stan James go 16/1 now and when other quotes do come in I expect nothing bigger than 20/1.
It’s a pity that Merlin Magic hasn’t run his race, as it would have given the form more substance but it’s very encouraging that Herculean has won over 7F on soft. That bodes well for getting a mile next season. Let’s hope that Charlton makes the correct calls with this Frankel. Knowing him he’s probably eyeing the Flying Childers at Doncaster

That’s probably it for me and the 2000 Guineas now. Gustav Klimt, The Pentagon and Herculean, all at 33/1.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 8, 2017 at 15:03 #1316928Hills are offering 40/1 Herculean it seems. Oh well, what do I know.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 8, 2017 at 15:10 #1316929Just seen the result Stevie. Can’t wait to see it. A Frankel 1-2. Great start to the weekend!

September 8, 2017 at 15:43 #1316931Very impressive from Herculean – Moore had to niggle him along halfway in but once he picked up he looked a strong type with a powerful stride. Very striking looker too with 4 white socks!
I nabbed a bit at Hills at 40/1 for the 2000 Guineas straight after watching…
oh… and errrr… hi from a n00b
September 8, 2017 at 15:49 #1316933Welcome Brixton Boy! Yes just seen the replay. Very nice debut and a big strong galloped who will surely appreciate further and better ground.

September 8, 2017 at 16:28 #1316936Anyone else think Lady Frankel presents great value in the Moulin. Pitched into a Gr.3 off her two months break, bailing out Boudot, to win in style. Feels like there is more to come her like the recent improvements of Cracksman/Eminent.
September 8, 2017 at 16:56 #1316943She might run into a place Pete but Ribchester is all class and will be tough to beat. I was surprised by the entry but Monsieur Fabre usually knows what he is doing…..

September 8, 2017 at 17:45 #1316954Good winner and what I liked the most is the scope that his one has, looks like a huge improver to me. I’m on him for the Guineas at 25’s… shame I couldn’t get on the hills at 40s
September 8, 2017 at 22:46 #1316993Another stakes winner for the 1st crop of Frankel – this time at Belmont Park as Rublinda comes from last to first to win the Christie Cat Stakes. Very impressive.

September 9, 2017 at 07:33 #1317019Great to hear how well the Frankel’s are running Joni and all, will have to catch up with all the action when I get home as Internet very slow out here.
Meanwhile my hopes are pinned on just one Frankel star today and hoping for an all the way success for EMINENT
in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown today Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 9, 2017 at 08:03 #1317023I was at Ascot yesterday and very impressed by Herculean both in the paddock and on the track. He’s a strong colt, a good hand taller than the remainder of the field and filled his frame. In the race he looked stronger as the race went on, galloping relentlessly to the finish.
September 10, 2017 at 22:24 #1317261An incredible weekend with 5 winners including 3 first-time out two year-olds but that first European Group 1 remains elusive. Eminent ran his heart out but just isn’t quite good enough yet. Hopefully he will land a big one as a four year-old.
Cracksman won impressively. Everyone knows I am a huge fan of Johnny G but even I will struggle to defend him if he decides not to let this horse take his chance in the Arc. I know they think he will be a better four year-old and they don’t want to give him a hard race but anything can happen in this game. He could get injured or there could be a champion three year-old or Enable might even stay in training and be unbeatable next year as well! If Enable wasn’t in the same stable they would obviously run him and I just don’t think you should be ducking the race because of one horse. I hope JG does the right thing.
As for the two year-olds, Herculean and Wadislifa both looked very promising as did Elarqaam today. Lightening Quick was another winner and she could be heading for the Chevely Park. I was also really pleased and a little surprised to see Nelson win again – he will be aimed at the Racing Post Trophy apparently. The form of his maiden hadn’t worked out so well but he showed a great attitude yesterday and is clearly improving quickly so perhaps my Ante Post Derby ticket is not a waste of money!
So lots of winners, three more Group winners (including Rublinda) and hopefully it is only a matter of time before the Group 1’s start raining down…..
