Note to ante post backers, keep on open mind, regardless of who you put your money on.
Thank you. Do you have any other useful advice?

Yeah. Don’t drink too much water before you go to your bed.
February 11, 2010 at 18:45 #275669Goldikova makes a very good point re the going this year. There seems a general assumption that it’ll be good, I’ve been leaning towards good to soft with my provisional selections but it wouldn’t surprise me if the ground was very soft, verging on heavy as the meeting progressed. I believe there is more heavy snow down in Englandshire right now.
We’ve had more than our share up here in God’s Country and where the frost is out of the ground it’s an absolute bog. I spend two or three hours a day out with our dog, we have a wide variety of walks but it’s the same everywhere even in the fields with normally good drainage
If these conditions prevailed only a fool would ignore Pandorama’s RSA chances although right now he’s behind Diamond Harry and Weird Al in my calculations and I wonder how happy Ruby would be with his Gold Cup choice if it did gome up on the heavy side.
Connections of Solwhit and Dunguib wouldn’t be unhappy though

Any good point was completely lost amid the self congratulatory smugness of the opening comment. Another poor attempt at justifying the validity of ones own statements. Very poor form again. Your unctuous suggestion that defenders look silly is as pathetic as you revisiting a dead issue that was a non issue in the first place. Get the chip off your shoulder. Your attack on Waley-Cohen and his defenders does not make you in any way superior.
Looks like said rider agrees with me, he was being spoiled. Better late than never all the same. It makes some people look a wee bit silly when they tried to defend him, and either the jockey or connections did a u-turn. Good man.
February 12, 2010 at 12:23 #275806Watch out chicd*ck, that dictionary you swallowed might get stuck.

CS, i always find it peculiar that very few people on ante post threads mention the potential ground issues. A whole bunch of big races could be turned on their head if our father who art in heaven, pis*es on Cheltenham. Some classy Irish horses would benefit. I’d like to think a few of my selections wouldn’t mind the heavenly waters. With regards to Harry, i think he’d be better entered in the Ryanair as opposed to the world hurdle for an alternative race, just incase. He’s a right class act all the same. My main bet would be on the Henderson two, but he’s a big worry, as is Pandorama.

So extended use of the english language offends you as well Goldy. I guess we all know who the brat is. Only one contender really and it isn’t Mr Waley-Cohen.

That makes zero sense.
February 12, 2010 at 16:54 #275873Henderson said Long Run is 99% certain to go to the RSA. Why couldn’t they just have said this a few days ago, instead of telling people a decision won’t be made until after the 2m race ? with all the noises that were being made, you’d have thought he was Arkle bound.

I would have to agree that heavy going might well stretch Diamond Harry’s ability to be fully effective at 3 miles.
He’s won on heavy at Cheltenham but wasn’t as impressive as usual that day. On deep ground I think I’d be leaning towards Weird Al or Pandorama for the RSAI hadn’t thought of The Ryanair for Harry, thats quite a hot race but won’t be far off his best distance IMO…possibly
Agreed World Hurdle is no longer an option for him.

I deliberately wrote "is" no horse called Approaching. I remember the old stager well. Light blue, black crossbelts, I seem to recall. Good on the old fella if he is still around, as he must be about as old as I am!
Those are the ones. Not sure if they are the same colours sported by What A Myth, but it would make sense.
What a Myth was my favourite horse way back then and was owned by Lady Weir. Approaching was owned by Major D Wigan but I’ve no idea if there was a relationship between the two. Although the Capt Ryan Price Josh Gifford tie up suggests there may have been

That makes it even more questionable as to why they have body swerved Diamond Harry in the 3 Miler, especially in view of the problem with finding a "suitable replacement" jockey for Stravinsky Dance.
February 12, 2010 at 17:57 #275889Jeezus.

They have not "body swerved" Diamond Harry. Read Henderson’s comments.
February 12, 2010 at 18:04 #275891…and you believe everything NH says to the press?
February 12, 2010 at 18:27 #275896Considering Long Run is being touted by many on here as virtually "the second coming" sure he should be at similar odds at Warwick tomorrow to those on offer about Denman in The Aon?
Surely every one who belives this should pile on every cent they can lay their hands on considering Long Run is on offer at 4/9 while Denman is 1/6 in The Aon.
February 12, 2010 at 18:46 #275899Who is touting him as the second coming, CS?
All that has been said is that those writing him off as a mere stayer, have clearly no appreciation of his juvenile form over 18f, and those (i.e. yourself) dismissing him as an almost certain faller in his next outing, are perhaps being a tad premature.
As for Saturday, why would I back him at 4/9, when I’m sitting with three-figure odds for the Arkle (and 30 for the RSA Chase)?
February 12, 2010 at 19:38 #275917(and 30 for the RSA Chase)?
I dont recall seeing that quoted anywhere! a wiseman covers himself mind! Pleased to hear it!

You’ll just have to trust me, TAPK.
