“Note how those who shout loudest about ‘patriotism’ are also the ones siding with a hostile foreign leader over the national broadcaster.”
Just like those who shout the loudest about free speech are those who do the most to silence anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

You may have misunderstood me. It’s clear that Trump only cares about himself. He’d throw literally anyone under the bus if it was to save his own skin. And I do mean anyone.
January 3, 2026 at 10:25 #1749421President Trump has clearly given up on trying to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
January 3, 2026 at 11:54 #1749434Not too sure about that. Might be his idea of bringing about ‘Pax Trumpica’?

I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysJanuary 3, 2026 at 12:19 #1749445The USA just can’t help itself, no surprise there.

False prize! Who needs that after winning the FIFA Peace Prize walkover
Praise Infantino and pass the ammunition
January 3, 2026 at 17:06 #1749487The US will now run Venezuela? Where was the election to approve this?
For how long will the global community tolerate this imbecile?
January 3, 2026 at 19:14 #1749505Perhaps another country should step in to run the USA for a while to save it from an unpopular dictatorial leader.
January 3, 2026 at 19:24 #1749507Of course the profits from oil will go towards the Venezuelan people.
January 4, 2026 at 08:56 #1749523After Starmer was apparently not consulted or warned about the attack on Venezuela, maybe now the idiots who talk about a “special relationship” between Britain and America will finally realise there is no such thing.
Much of the American political class has never had much regard for Britain. Admittedly the relationship between the two governments is particularly poor now but the idea the United States has ever cared what Britain has to say is laughable.
America has always viewed the American continent as its own fiefdom, ever since President Monroe issued his famous Doctrine in his State of the Union address in 1823. As far as Trump is concerned, he will argue he is following that doctrine.
The stated reason for the military operation – dealing with the drugs trade – is obviously nonsense. In that case, why not invade Mexico. I am not even convinced it is wholly about oil. I think it is more to do with the United States putting down a marker against its greatest rival, China.
Many of the developing BRICS countries are gravitating towards China. America is scared of losing influence and wants to show it is still a power to be reckoned with. Venezuela represented an easy target.
January 4, 2026 at 09:07 #1749526It’s about oil , Jesus the world’s full of evil dictators , is he taking them all out , is he **** , America again deciding it rules the world , it doesn’t , as for the special relationship , that’s now with Europe , the world needs to hold its nose for now until this idiot is out or dies

January 4, 2026 at 18:16 #1749571I suspect that the door is very open for China to move on Taiwan, while the USA focus will be on adding Greenland as another state. Whilst Putin laughs his little.. ..OFF, and establishes a route through Latvia and Lithuania to that Russian outpost Kaliningrad. In effect cutting off the Baltic states, and messing NATO up.
In all probability Putin would have know what the USA were doing to a lesser degree, they have spies. Most likely there would have been a trade off between Russia and USA with this about Ukraine’s future.January 4, 2026 at 19:21 #1749576Do u really think the US will be allowed to just take Greenland

January 4, 2026 at 19:42 #1749579Given how spineless the EU’s leadership is, then yes.
January 4, 2026 at 19:53 #1749581I can really see a future NATO with no USA

Taken from some AI thingy.
Greenland’s estimated mineral wealth 36.1 billion tonnes
Greenland’s estimated mineral wealth is vast and diverse, with significant deposits of rare earth elements, graphite, lithium, copper, nickel, zinc, gold, diamonds, iron ore, and tungsten. The country is estimated to hold 36.1 billion tonnes of rare earths, with about 1.5 million tonnes economically recoverable. Graphite resources are estimated at six million tons, lithium at 235,000 tonnes, and copper resources are insignificant on a global scale. However, Greenland’s uranium reserves, which are banned for exploitation, could be of greater strategic interest. The island’s strategic position and proximity to the EU make it a key player in the global supply chain of critical minerals.Would the EU fight for that, or just take a lump sum payment as part of a Trump deal? Thus avoiding sanctioning the USA and throwing the world into economic turmoil.
As its now the 200th anniversary of USA independence, expect the unexpected. Someone wants to be added to Mt Rushmore.
January 5, 2026 at 08:23 #1749610Difficult times, for Keir Stammer with Donald Trump”s actions over Venezuela.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
