You’re an immigrant, griff?
In that case, why are you apparently so opposed to other immigrants?
July 9, 2025 at 15:20 #1735785“Very true Glad, but the knuckle draggers will never believe it.”
Come on Purwell, you can do better than that……..can’t you?
I don’t believe I am a ‘knuckle dragger’, does it refer to somebody who disagrees with you?I don’t read the Sun, Express, Mail and Telegraph, and do not participate in that cesspit of social media.
Besides, while we can and should be concerned about our environment and do our best to look after it, the climate is cyclical and we can’t change that. Much of this fear of global warming is driven by the media and various governments.

That’s disappointing.
At least you might have had some sort of excuse if you did.
July 9, 2025 at 16:28 #1735793Well-spoken Glad. Refugees are a convenient scapegoat for the multiple crises we are facing. In N Ireland, at the moment, during the annual Orange Order hate-fest, they’re burning effigies of refugees instead of catholics.
July 9, 2025 at 16:42 #1735797One of my oldest friends from school is mixed race second generation immigrant. We had a big fall out over Brexit because she was anti immigration. It was the first time I noticed that second generation immigrants were anti immigration but this has been compounded by seeing that so many anti immigration MP’s are the same. I’m still confused by it. I have since made friends with my pal because of our shared history ( both from a poor background but passed our 11+ and went to a very good school etc) but we have to avoid politics completely.
July 9, 2025 at 16:59 #1735799My parents were immigrants.
Sadly, there’s a lot of “pull up the drawbridge” thinking amongst that generation.
They’re both dead now, but we did not agree on politics (they bought their first house under Thatcher’s “right to buy” policy, which was essentially buying votes).
July 9, 2025 at 17:59 #1735801AND, before you jump up on your little platform Richard, no, it isn’t about ONLY allowing in white immigrants.
I never suggested anything of the sort so no idea what relevance there is in bringing it up.
Anyway we’re straying away from US politics now (although it’s hard to tell the difference sometimes).
July 9, 2025 at 18:55 #1735803I would say that a potential Farage government is as close to Trump as you are likely to find.
July 9, 2025 at 19:04 #1735804For several years now I’ve been on an American Facebook page started by someone called Brandon Weber ( who sadly died a while back but the page has continued) and during that time I’ve often read comments and had to work out whether I’m reading about America or the UK. So many similarities.

None of which have served to advance the cause of the everyday worker.
It’s all been about funnelling money upwards, while conning the public into thinking that it’s somebody else’s fault.
November 15, 2025 at 13:11 #1744628No the BBC didn’t change your words Trump, they just changed the order of them. Beeb shouldn’t have done what they did but it didn’t do him any harm in the election. Trump’s words meanwhile did cause the disgraceful scenes that day. Think I’ll sue Trump for 28 trillion dollars for killing the planet with his climate change denials.
November 15, 2025 at 15:02 #1744653This is what the BBC should be throwing back at Trump:
https://edition.cnn.com/2025/11/03/politics/fact-check-trump-cbs-interview
Of course, he’ll just say that it’s “fake news”, but his blatant and consistent lying is there for all to see.
November 15, 2025 at 15:20 #1744656The prob is glad Trump throws that much nonsense out you,ve hardly time to take the nonsense in and analyse it before the next lot comes out , Trump has plenty problems at home , a lot similar to us , the farmers especially are very angry at deals done with China , there also the push for Epstein files , could be a difficult Xmas and new year in the white house

November 15, 2025 at 18:13 #1744689It does go to show what a state the BBC is in though. Trump must be the easiest target of all time to make a “hostile” documentary about given that I doubt he has ever told the truth in his whole life ever (that’s me up before the beak to the tune of $1 billion) yet they have to use dubious editing to make their point.
And now the endless handwringing will go on and on and on in characteristic W1A fashion.
November 16, 2025 at 17:21 #1744822Starting to feel that things are turning against Trump at home , it looks the files are going to be released and Trump is def unnerved

The report that sparked all this was itself edited.
Like everything Trump says and does, it’s all a distraction to try to stop people talking about the files that don’t exist but if they do they certainly don’t contain anything that would show the world what he truly is. But we’d better not release them anyway.
Note how those who shout loudest about ‘patriotism’ are also the ones siding with a hostile foreign leader over the national broadcaster.
