It’s seems Trumps peace deals last as long as a Alan B’stard shag …. The premature peace deal indeed …

June 25, 2025 at 04:11 #1734604“Can Iran be trusted? Perhaps not”.
You don’t need the “perhaps”. I wouldn’t trust a brutal Islamic dictatorship where women are stoned to death for not having their hair covered.
The removal of the Iranian regime would be a good thing, especially for the ancient Persian people. Unfortunately, Western meddling in the Middle East has never worked out well before and there is no reason to think it will now.
Having said that, the situation is potentially more dangerous now. I agree with Ginger – a nuclear armed Iran would be a genuine threat and cannot be allowed to happen.

June 25, 2025 at 07:27 #1734612I suspect there will be an Islamic country with nuclear weapons one day – but it might take a few decades..
June 25, 2025 at 07:47 #1734616Pakistan has nuclear capability.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysJune 25, 2025 at 09:05 #1734624Yep, Pakistan has around 170 confirmed nuclear warheads and is a non-signatory of both the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and Test Ban Treaty
Furthermore, the relations with neighbouring Iran are relatively good, in part due to the shared problem with Baluchi separatists in Baluchistan (straddles both countries), Iran’s siding with Pakistan over Kashmir, and a common interest in combating the drug trade.
Officially Pakistan recognizes the right of Iran to develop a civil nuclear programme but is against it producing nuclear weapons.
The late Benazir Bhutto was half-Iranian.
June 26, 2025 at 13:14 #1734688As I’ve said. There is a massive difference between Pakistan having Nuclear weapons and Iran. There’s Sunni Islam and Shia Islam. Sunni Pakistan has some religion in its political leadership, but it also has a lot of secular influence too. Unlike Sunni Islam, Shia instructs political power should be be religious / Islamic. ie The political leadership of Iran is totally dominated by religion – an extreme religious leader – The “Supreme Leader”. Whatever he says goes.
When Islam says that in a “just war” if Muslim is killed in the process of killing an enemy of Islam – then he will go to Paradise. The Supreme Leader believes that in a “Just War” if he kills enemies of Islam it won’t matter if he and his pals are killed… because he / they go to Paradise.
Going to Paradise is no deterrent for using nuclear weapons.
Iran cannot be allowed nuclear weapons.Value Is EverythingJuly 6, 2025 at 18:24 #1735659Leopards eating people’s faces latest:
July 7, 2025 at 06:44 #1735673I’m sure that, just like those who supported Brexit, they knew what they were voting for.
And, if Reform get elected in 2029, we’re going to have millions of people in the UK regretting their choice within months.
July 9, 2025 at 05:40 #1735760They would regret it Gladiateur, but they are acknowledging and discussing out loud what the majority of people are concerned about and saying they will deal with it.
It’s doubtful they would actually deliver and would probably end up like the present government with a ‘deer in the headlights’ approach.
It’s understandable why the right wing/nationalists are gaining popularity throughout Europe, people are very frustrated with various circumstances, especially with immigration, and their respective governments are unwilling to do anything about them.
July 9, 2025 at 05:49 #1735761Immigration is a “problem” manufactured by the right. People should actually be concerned about the environment, the NHS and education – things which actually impact our daily lives. Instead, thanks to brainwashing by the media narrative, immigration is seen as being of more importance by more voters in the UK, according to YouGov. It’s a sad testimony to the power of the media.
Instead of regurgitating drivel from the Sun, Express, Mail and Telegraph, or social media, try looking at the facts on immigration, as per the research unit at Oxford University:
The reason the country is in a mess is NOT the relatively small number of migrants who arrive illegally, but the decades of asset-stripping, underinvestment and transfer of wealth from public funds to private pockets which have taken place in this country (and elsewhere). It’s the ideology started by Thatcher, continued by Blair and then the last 14 years of Tory ineptitude which have screwed the country, not people escaping war zones in search of a better life.

You, along with everyone else, have no idea what the majority of people are concerned about. Unless you’ve spoken to them all to find out?
July 9, 2025 at 15:10 #1735783“Immigration is a “problem” manufactured by the right. People should actually be concerned about the environment, the NHS and education.”
I think people are concerned about all of those points Gladiateur.
I also think that you are wrong to say that immigration is a problem manufactured by the right. I don’t think immigration itself is the problem, after all, I like many am an immigrant, I know many other immigrants, it’s the culture of the particular immigrants that seems to be the main issue.
AND, before you jump up on your little platform Richard, no, it isn’t about ONLY allowing in white immigrants.
