Apologies for being a bit late posting so shall just put forward for your consideration RELIEF RALLY who’s handler looks to have found a good opportunity for this filly to return to the winners enclosure.
good luck to allOctober 11, 2024 at 11:28 #1709497Going to York for an interesting French import who promised to be better than his current status with his only success coming as a unbeaten juvenile.Since when he’s had somewhat of a mixed career, however last time out at Ayr he showed the ability was still there putting up a performance comparable to his 2yo efforts.PADISHAKH e/w looks worth an investment to hit the frame or hopefully finally get back into the winners enclosure.
good luck to allOctober 12, 2024 at 12:19 #1709635The progression ALFA KELLENIC has shown since winning a Newcastle maiden mid January isn’t remarkable but simply breathtaking. Her maiden success wasn’t followed up until early June when winning at Thirsk before up in class at York where under a 6lb rise saw off the field comfortably with something in hand. How much in hand became more apparent when stepping down in class for a visit to Ayr in a class 3 event where she finished fast and late to snatch the spoils, this I now believe was to check out the suitability of the course for a tilt at the Ayr Gold Gup.However not making the cut for the main event was softened by victory in the Silver equivalent, with the runner up winning next time out making the form look none too shabby.
good luck to allOctober 15, 2024 at 13:10 #1709904Thought DRAKEHOLES won very nicely earlier this month looking to have a bit in hand so don’t think the 3lb rise will stop him following up with another course & distance success.
good luck to allOctober 25, 2024 at 13:00 #1710713For a handicapper, perhaps in time a very good one,ALTMORE has been very much on the easy list.Given a nice introduction last Nov at Newcastle wasn’t seen again until Sept this year when taking a Chepstow maiden getting up on the post, having been gelded earlier this season.Made his handicap debut this month in quite breath taking fashion at Pontefract looking something like the horse connections went to 360,000 euros to secure as a yearling at Deauville sales.Although this is a big step up in class from his last outing he treated rivals there with absolute disdain winning without the rider having to move a muscle. Is worth taking a chance on to show what he’s capable of achieving.
good luck to allNovember 2, 2024 at 11:09 #1711470Bets become somewhat thinner on the ground during the following months with me not participating in general with ‘over the sticks’ NH racing. However I believe there’s a good each way proposition running at Southwell.Having smashed his average looking numbers lately ROUSING ENCOORE e/w looks good to at least hit the frame.
good luck to allNovember 7, 2024 at 14:20 #1712045North to Newcastle this evening with HK FOURTEEN who blew all previous efforts out of the water when dropped in trip last time.Having been tried up to 10f the selection being put forward for your consideration quite literally ran all over his rivals at Bath last month when sprinting was tried.Considering the geldings pedigree I find it difficult to understand why he should be thought of as a middle distance horse? However having travelled well into the race it didn’t take much urging for him to put it to bed winning readily.
good luck to allNovember 9, 2024 at 11:23 #1712237Today’s the final day of the turf flat season which concludes as tradition dictates at Doncaster and it’s to where I go for TWO STARS who looks in fine shape to follow up his recent Curragh success. Not seen out since the spring he nevertheless went off favourite registering career high numbers and with something in hand.Underfoot conditions should be fine with the stable still winning I’m very hopeful of doubling up on Thursdays win.
good luck to allNovember 23, 2024 at 12:39 #1713705Dropped almost a stone in the handicap to some may have been why LADY NUNTHORPE e/w finally got her head in front. However for me the switch to an artificial surface would be a more likely reason having changed stables during August following a lengthy absence dating back to the previous November. Thus to my mind she’s only now being able to show her capabilities.I thought she won rather nicely at Southwell last month being ridden off the pace and taking up the running inside the final furlong to win in my opinion with more in hand than the official margin would suggest. At the present odds she looks worth a punt to reach the frame and indeed perhaps double her tally in successive races.
good luck to allDecember 10, 2024 at 13:12 #1715175While regularly looking for a possible bet since Lady Nunthrope fell out of the stalls losing all chance, hopes have been raised only to be dashed when the likely runner is withdrawn by connections. However can today put forward for your consideration IZZARI who won readily last week at Newcastle.Trailing the field for much of the race made good progress hitting the 2f marker and be just off the leader going past the furlong pole before being asked to go about his business, then putting clear daylight between himself and the field.Despite today’s penalty looks to be in with a favourable chance of following up this evening.
good luck to allDecember 24, 2024 at 09:48 #1716220Although the autumn hasn’t been good we should come out of the year as a whole with a small profit.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones……
a joyous MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year.
good luck to allDecember 26, 2024 at 11:45 #1716332Spotted KING’S CODE on his last visit to this venue where he ran out a ready winner and believe he’s capable of following up here repeating his success of twelve months earlier.
good luck to allDecember 27, 2024 at 12:24 #1716524It’s back to Dunstall Park this evening for a young stayer who looks to have more to offer following a facile success at Southwell last week.Being a late April foal it’s hardly surprising that CURRUMBIN has taken time to show his worth and combined with the fact he’s improved for a longer trip there’s every reason to believe the selection hasn’t yet touched the ceiling of his abilities.Although his best form has come on a artificial surface I wouldn’t rule out this form being transferred to turf in the spring given the fact all runs on such ground have probably been over an inadequate trips.
good luck to allJanuary 1, 2025 at 14:14 #1717269Hope everyone reading had a nice Christmas break and may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year.2024 didn’t turn out as well as I initially expected or hoped due mainly to a poor autumn however I did finish the year in overall profit, although a small one.
To date this thread reads ….. staked £381 …. returns £348.79 to £1 win stakes @ SP.
As is my way throughout the past twelve months I’ve continued to gather my thoughts and ideas to what I now believe will be a more refined selection method which, fingers crossed, make us more surefooted in filtering out the losers leaving a higher percentage of success.
good luck to allJanuary 4, 2025 at 12:11 #1717472Not the kind of horse I envisaged starting 2025 off with but I do believe in Southwell’s final contest of the day that ANDALSEEYAGRAHAM e/w is overpriced and will outrun his odds. The selection being put forward for your consideration has taken time to get the hang of things but put up quite a display when last seen in the final few days of 2024.The apprentice rider is 3/54 overall but 2/4 in recent outings.Stable’s doing ok without setting the world on fire.Tried up to a mile this gelding has run best at sprints which connections seem to have finally come to realise and hope to get the new season off to a profitable start.
good luck to allJanuary 6, 2025 at 13:51 #1717628Not a bad return I suppose from Saturday,10/1 4 places, although I was hopeful we could get off to a winning start.
Although one has to take the rough with the smooth I believe it’s all about taking your chances when they appear and staying true to your convictions whatever they be rather than following your heart, all too often punters will chase loses from a previous horse they have invested on blind to the fact they may be throwing good money after bad. Also chasing that little extra profit ie having a choice of two for a particular race and going for the larger price when it’s not justified ….. the price must always reflect the horses chance of success whether that be winning or obtaining a place.
Carpe diem!
Following her win in a similar race just before Christmas ENOLA GREY has positive chances here of doubling up.
good luck to allJanuary 14, 2025 at 13:11 #1718028Been pondering for a while now whether to rate the horses I put forward for your consideration in a star based system according not to my own belief as regard their chance but how much of the criteria the individual section fulfils. ….. at present I’m thinking along the lines 1* 2** or 3***.(three being the best)
Although I can already say what will be my three star bets still debating where to draw the line between 1 & 2 which is flexible at the moment.
Going to Newcastle this evening for the gelding TASEVER * who holds decent claims for this handicap and would put on one star.
Any views on the ratings would be welcome.
