I just adore Frankel, and while i can sort of understand why a few people have doubts, I don’t agree with them in the slightest. I do like Dream Ahead, but I wouldn’t think anything can get past Frankel, if Guineas tactics are employed you’d need something that finishes like a train to catch him.
I also think he’s very, very good for racing. When i was photog’ing at Goodwood on Guineas day my sister (who has about as much interest in racing as i do golf) came with me for a day out, watched it on the TV, was totally in awe and gutted that she can’t make tomorrow or be able to see him over summer as she’s out of the country. He’s the sort of horse that people can get interested in and get excited about.

June 13, 2011 at 15:31 #360509Richard Hughes talks up Excaleberation in addition to his own mount Dubawi Gold.
If the Japanese horse Grand Prix Boss shows his form I think he’ll prove to be better than Dubawi Gold and the other challengers (unexposed as some of them may be). If Frankel didn’t have anything in reserve at the end of the Guineas then GPB might threaten? Obviously this might all prove to be wishful thinking if Frankel is as good as he seems.
June 13, 2011 at 16:03 #360514What about if the race is run like the Greenham? Will Queally be forced to take on the lead early on and damage his chances?
June 13, 2011 at 17:33 #360525Whichever way the race goes, whether Queally decides to make the running or not, I can’t see Frankel’s chances being damaged at all because he can win from the front and coming from behind. I think it’ll be just a question of when Mr Queally is going to unleash the dragon!
I cannot see Frankel being beaten and this super horse gives me butterflies … something I haven’t really felt since Dancing Brave in 1986.
June 13, 2011 at 18:10 #360533Frankel will not be inconvenienced by the ground, should it remain good to soft; although apparently the ground is drying out minute by minute, according to the clerk of the course at Ascot. His ten lengths Royal Lodge win was in similar conditions.
Although Sir Henry doesn’t like to go overboard about the merits of the great horses he has trained – and even though Oh So Sharp is often cited as probably the best he’s had – " She was a very good filly you know " – being about the closest he would come to lavishing praise on one of his horses, I do get the distinct impression from listening to and reading various interviews he has given, that he considers Frankel to be the most special of all. He seems to brighten up at the mere mention of his name. I don’t think he even contemplates the prospect of defeat for his great horse tomorrow.
I do hope for his sake ( and most of ours ) that Frankel wins and that his star continues to climb.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
June 13, 2011 at 18:47 #360540I too am pretty certain that Frankel will win tomorrow.
However, if anything goes wrong then the Japanese horse is the one I think is most likely to benefit. I could resist having a speculative few quid on him at 30s on the machine.
Will do the straight forecast tomorrow;
Frankel – Grand Prix Boss
June 13, 2011 at 18:57 #360542Only 1 more sleep
June 13, 2011 at 20:31 #360558I don’t think I will sleep Ruby – cannot wait to see this incredible horse again
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

Dream Ahead for the forecast.
What you smoking?Think Matt Chapman said the other day on ATR with a caller who tipped up Dream Ahead, "He’d have to be the best horse in the world to win on his seasonal debut against Frankel."
Dream Ahead, I can’t see being the best horse in the world?
June 13, 2011 at 22:33 #360571I’ll be at bloody work tomorrow afternoon. Will the BBC Sport website show live video feed like they did last year? I NEED to see Frankel run!
June 13, 2011 at 22:56 #360572Dubawi Gold has to be cracking E/W value with the ground, track and pace to suit. Indeed, if the highly strung Frankel bombs (I’d hate to see that) I expect DG to take some beating.
June 13, 2011 at 23:03 #360573well I am going to try and get Frankel beaten. He is a star but I wonder if he might boil over a bit. He does look uncontrollable at times.
Grand Prix Wonder is my 20/1 ew shot, who knows what a lot of the form adds up to but it is an effort coming over
June 14, 2011 at 12:48 #360629Wootton Bassett e/w without Frankel for me. Good luck all.
June 14, 2011 at 13:15 #360637I was very keen on
Zoffany
for the 2000 guineas.
I can see no reason why he won’t stay eight furlongs, taking into consideration what I have seen on the racecourse. He had every right to need his first race back after suffering a bout of colic and the ground has remained in his favour.
He holds entries over a variety of trips (6f – 12f), but Aidan O’Brien nominated this race after his seasonal return and I think he holds an outstanding each way chance.
June 14, 2011 at 14:01 #360662I am putting every single penny i have made Betting this year and putting it all on Frankel.
The last of my betting bank that i made over the year and its looking scarce now at 2k. All on Frankel
June 14, 2011 at 14:32 #360675Hi Mesh; ATR are covering Ascot and you can watch whatever on the replays.
