We’ll just have to wait patiently and see if it happens
February 27, 2018 at 21:34 #1344263I can’t see the ground being an issue whether it be soft or good. Un De Sceaux has the course, distance and ground form.
Yes Charles, UDS has the course, distance and ground form, but not the three together if coming up soft… Which would place more emphasis on stamina. If he were to be taken on in front that would also increase the stamina (not settling well enough) test.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 27, 2018 at 21:53 #1344266I think 20-1 for Sub Lieutenant at Non Runner No Bet BOG here each way, has a lot of appeal. This is his race surely, and I think he has a great chance of making the frame
February 28, 2018 at 15:07 #1344340BBC Weather suggests that Cheltenham is due a couple of weeks of ‘light rain’ and breezy conditions.
I should imagine it’ll be perfect jumping ground for the festival, and personally I think one of the shames of the season was not seeing Un De Sceaux in the King George. I think he has the ability to go close in a Grade 1 over 3 miles no matter conditions.
February 28, 2018 at 22:19 #1344387The betting for this race features about seven horses at 12/1 or less who are unlikely at best to turn up!!
An absolute minefield for betting purposes and I am happy to sit with my 25/1 and 20/1 vouchers for Cloudy Dream.
A strong traveller who has been crying out to come back to this trip and has Cheltenham form being second to the mighty Altior in the Arkle last year!!Even at 16/1 it is still worth a bet each way methinks
March 7, 2018 at 18:34 #1345148Top Notch out
March 7, 2018 at 19:38 #1345166Didn’t look right in the Ascot chase. Praise the lord for NRNB
March 7, 2018 at 22:22 #1345176UDS won the Prix La Barka over 2m5.5f on very soft ground at Auteuil in 2016, so I don’t think the trip in the ground will be an issue as long as Ruby can keep a reasonable lid on him.
That being said he didn’t have much choice in the matter last year as UDS just decided to take off and if he does that again this year on much slower ground it will be an issue but he was quite happy to take a lead at Ascot last time and he wasn’t free first time out at Cork either so maybe he is getting a bit more mellow in his later years.
March 8, 2018 at 14:09 #1345273Original fancy TN out, Cue Card e/w my second choice.
Hopefully UDS goes off in front whether initially or mid-race and can give the old boy a good toe into the race. Best form from this season is his run LTO and 7s is a fair price.March 8, 2018 at 22:04 #1345343Waiting Patiently misses this for the Bowl at Aintree
March 8, 2018 at 22:16 #1345346The Bowl? Are you sure about that, VTC? Interesting that they’re thinking of stepping him up to 3 miles this season; I thought that they’d wait until the King George.
March 8, 2018 at 22:23 #1345347I hope he wins The Bowl,I really do,but that decision is madness.
March 8, 2018 at 22:28 #1345349My favourite Cue Card definitely for me here now, 7/1 is a good price.
I think he can out stay Un des Sceaux. Balko des Flos is the other short priced horse here. His last race was a good one, but the previous two ones this season were very moderate and on soft ground he still has to prove it.
March 8, 2018 at 22:33 #13453523m 1f Bowl the target according to Dave Yates, Daily Mirror
March 8, 2018 at 22:37 #1345353@Gladiateur
Wasn’t me Glad, think you’re getting me mixed up with Steeplechasing…………..I’m sure Joe will be delighted lolPS I have bet him though for The King George, been hanging on to Rob North’s coattails with this horse ever since he first highlighted him.
March 8, 2018 at 22:43 #1345355Waiting Patiently is a definite Non Runner here now.
March 8, 2018 at 22:43 #1345356Woops!
