Fahey yard notoriously start well and plenty ran well to back up that angle yesterday. Ran a cracker here last season against Internationaldebut, raced closest to pace that day of those that finished around him and travelled like a dream but no answer to the winner who was in insane form at the time. Still could prove well handicapped and looks to hold a good chance.

Impressed by him when he won the November handicap and think he can progress this season. Conditions look in favour and I expect he’ll be more ready to go than others. John Gosden is always a strong starter in april/may with his runners from a break and that has continued this season with 3/7 winner (43%) and 6/7 placed (86%). Last season was only 18% strike rate at a loss to sp but the previous 3 years was over 25% each season with profitable returns so it’s a good time to go for his runners.

Be surprised and gutted if he loses, should be too good for these lot today. Ground to soft lto and has shown improvement up to 7f in the winter. Loves the track, handicapped to canter over these.

Single handedly the most profitable horse I have ever backed and when things set right for him he usually delivers!

Won’t have a bit of it Gordon! Biggest problem for him has always been settling. Love him!

Thanks VTC also, was confident today and loaded up on the drift as I have done on a couple of his victories! no takings for today though!

Always go quiet over the change over Gord tend to spend a month watching more than punting until about now but also been stuffed for time with a few other things just haven’t got on here! Will get on more regular now!

Don’t imagine you’ve been watching a lot of all weather racing but Charlie Hills put out an interesting runner called Basseterre recently who looks well above the average maiden runners you see round about now!

There’s one I remembered posting in your thread in the winter!

Keep an eye on this Al Khawaneej beast as well Simcock has got winning at the moment, he’s a brute!

How’s things been going for you guys? Hope you are both well

Not been on this for a while, few things took me away in the summer. Was 8.5pts up still when I left it, will post sporadically over the winter and disappear in summer again I expect!

    Borders National @ Kelso

Cotswold Charmer very interesting runner, form working out well from his Bangor race and he looks a type to relish a test, Nigel can certainly train them to stay as well but he is no price at all at a top show of 2/1.

I also like Harouet though, he is an improving staying chaser at the moment and won well at Carlisle last time out and I think he will relish the test. Looks way over priced for this

Fabled City looked like he would be suited to this step up in trip on his last run, he was off the bridle heading to 3 out and looking outpaced in mid field, he finished well and was keeping on all the time up the home straight and beaten only a length and finishing clear with the 1st and 2nd it looked a good run back off a small break. He was impressive winning at Epsom when seen before this appearance and he looks like he can improve a bit further yet and is unexposed on the pollytrack, he may well prove better on the fibresand given his pedigree but he proved himself very able on the pollytrack last time out and he looks to have a big chance here.

An hour later a competitive event at the end of the card and I felt Mother Jones had been a bit over looked. She looked outpaced over 5f last time out in a better race and looks crying out for a step back up in trip. She romped away with a race previously at Wolverhampton over 6f and although she has won at 5f reasonably recently, last time was not the first time in recent races the 5f has looked short and this looks a better race for her. I think her jockey Eoin Walsh is an apprentice worth keeping an eye on and looks a very useful 7lb claimer. 7

    Looks the ideal race for

    Ajjaadd

. Bit to keen last time out at Kempton in a better race than this, was unlucky over the sharper five furlong at Kempton before that when staying on from the rear having had plenty to do and not getting a clear run. He has been thriving and is in peak form at the moment and dropping back to five furlong is a significant factor for him as he really is a specialist at the distance. There is a lot of pace for him to run at and he has an outstanding chance.

Ajjaadd is proving a very consistent horse for me, backed him 3 times, finished 3rd three times! Every time on the nose of course.

Not a lot I find of interest today, the 4.45 at Kempton looks worth a small poke.

A very competitive stayers event and there are a handful of chance horses but I think

    Somemothersdohavem

is a horse still worth following. He is an out and out pollytrack horse and in what should be a more solid run race than last time out I think he has a good chance of turning the tables with Gabrial’s King and Honourable Knight simply. He is still open to further improvement and we have not seen the best of him yet on the pollytrack I feel, his win over Arch Villain reads very well. He lines up against a stable mate here who is also in good form and the yard are absolutely flying at the moment and I would be at all surprised if they are battling out the finish.

Looks a bit over priced for this now, in good form and ran well last time out from a wide draw still closing in the finish I’m sure he is done with yet, not had a a lot of racing on the pollytrack.

Had Valencha as my number one horse for the race yesterday, priced 11/2, was 8/1 when first prices went up but the phantom price was pretty quickly adjusted. She isn’t a horse for the feint hearted and is her own worst enemy I am sure but she is talented and was ‘unlucky’ not to have won a group 3 for mares this year, travelled well lto to 2 out in a decent listed event and gave the suggestion the drop in trip today would suit, back into handicaps she looks dangerous, should have won her last handicap at Salisbury was again ‘unlucky’, a very common story for her, be warned!

Not a lot on for me today that I find is over priced enough to get me interested.

It was the same story yesterday where my stronger fancies were all under my price evaluations.

The one that interested me the most today was

    O`Gorman

at Wolverhampton who was up at 9/2 last night and I thought I may be in business but he seems to be subject of a huge gamble and is as short as even money in some places

I have had an interest in

    Notus De La Tour

earlier in the week but wouldn’t take the price now. I think Walkon may be gettable given he has failed to back up a promising debut on previous 2 seasons and he is half way to continuing the pattern today.

Star Of Angels (9/2 my price) and Easter Meteor (3/1 my price) look decent chances away from Cheltenham.

A competitive event at the top of the market and one I expect

    Speightowns Kid

to come out on top in. He was an impressive enough winner on his last start and won with a fair bit in hand in the end eased in the closing stages and I was surprised he was only lifted 5lbs in the handicap. That was just his 2nd start for Jo Hughes having made a promising debut for her over course and distance previously. He has moved around a fair bit in his career but he appeared in better form than ever last time out and I think he will follow up his recent success ahead of Welease Bwian.
