A couple of top rated winners over the weekend but generally quite ropey results, though I did manage to make a profit on Saturday with just the two bets including Oman at 4.4 on Betfair.

Tick over stuff coming up this week. Probably just as well as this week sees the main sporting event of the year with my annual appearance in the Rotary Club Of West Fife ‘Fun’ Golf Day on Thursday. Hacked round in 4 practice rounds recently and then for some reason managed to look vaguely like a golfer on Friday, though that probably means I’ve wasted all my best shots.

A liberal sprinkling of winenrs thereabouts in the ratings. Did nicely with my bets and was on the righto nes in the mian, but missed out on top rated winenr Venturous who came from last to first to win at 33/1. I was a little bit dubious of this one’s figure based on all-weather form, but he’s pretty decent on turf and I hope someone here might have noticed the 4lb advantage he had!

Today’s results keep the ‘single top’ rated at about break even for the year at SP. Very satisfying and means the hard graft calculating the figures in proving worth the trouble.

A decent meeting at Musselburgh tomorrow although Class 4 races in the main, though I may do some figures for ‘my own amusement’, but I look elsewhere for the higher level handicaps.
