Gord any horses this week you think make a impact at festival in March.
And what you think of current market for derby here my thoughtsSIR ISAAC NEWTON win it he will this horse has a profile like
WONDER OF WONDERS
Current fav JFK won same race as my AUSTRALIA but he no AUSTRALIA and horse he beat is no FREE EAGLE.OL MAN RIVER is unbeaten but he not beat anything and darkhorse i got beat a rival by much further
HIGHLAND REEL not being trained like derby horse when last time see AOB 2yo win At Goodwood and not race again at 2.I know you like this GIOVANNI horse gord but no price by Ladbrokes intresting no price on him
My darkhorse is EPICURIS 20/1 As you know i like a french horse and after Full Mast won at Longchamp she said she had a better 2yo who she see as a derby horse it was this horse.Horse is unbeaten 3out of 3 and thrashed the 2nd in Beresford stakes much further than OL MAN RIVER did.If he comes over trainer is smart woman who won last 2 arcs.1000 guineas and AFRICAN ROSE won group one in UK
So Head Maareack knows what she is doing. And i see this horse being a big player at Epsom.SIR ISAAC NEWTON 25/1
EPICURIS 20/1Good post Darren,You know your horses so I wouldn’t disagree with your opinions too strongly.
November 17, 2014 at 21:17 #495611I’m sure you’d give it a good try Gord
November 17, 2014 at 21:21 #495612I couldn’t imagine how difficult it would be to even lead such an incredible competition never mind actually winning it!
I’m sure you’d give it a good try Gord

I put up £10,000 to whoever leads after last Saturday Bob!
November 17, 2014 at 22:51 #495630I’ve just checked the entries Gord, wait till some of my "stars" are running

Looks a belter of a weekend though, I hope the big guns all stand their ground.
November 20, 2014 at 07:52 #495807Hello Gord. With news that Sire De Grudgy is missing the rest of 2014 and the obvious doubt surrounding Sprinter Sacre who do you fancy for the champion chase? Surely there’s value in the market right now to take them on but there’s previous little that will target the race. I wonder if Simonsig could be the one to take sprinters place should he return below par. Balder succes doesn’t look to like cheltenham and I think Uxizandre is set for longer trips provided balder stays sound. What’s your view?
On a seperate note, shutthefrontdoor looks value for the lexus at 7’s.November 20, 2014 at 08:13 #495808Hello Gord. On a seperate note, shutthefrontdoor looks value for the lexus at 7’s.Always good to hear from you ‘Milbear0’,like you say with doubts surrounding the Big 2 in the Champion Chase there’s value out there to be had now,the question is who though?.I liked the ‘Shloer’ chase form the other day and can see all the first 3 developing into proper Grade 1 horses.’Uxizandre’ looks like 2m on good ground could be a bit sharp but both
Simply Ned 33/1
and
Dodging Bullets 40/1
could develop into Champion chase material imo. They are like chalk and cheese to look at,ones a big bull of a horse the others more like ‘Oh so Sharp’,very rangy almost filly like but both can jump and travel.
Shutthefrontdoor
dissapointed some last year but not me,I could see this fellow was just like a Big baby,no not like ‘Gingertipster’ who gets a bit mardy and throws his toys out the pram if he doesn’t get attention but physically and mentally weak.Jonjo knew he wasn’t ready for the RSA then but he knows now this fellow is a Grade 1 horse and like you say 7/1 is Xmas for the Lexus.
November 20, 2014 at 13:31 #495827Good to see you back milbear, hopefully see you for another crack at "TRF vs Pricewise".
The Champion Chase is a race that passes me by usually, but with the state of the principals, might be worth looking for a wee bit of value as you both say.
Gord, I’d be really interested in Uxizandre as well, and another I wouldn’t write off totally is
Savello
, and I took a small chance at 90’s, and now added up to 100’s. If it came up really soft,
Twinlight
could be a contender, but I just get the impression that Cheltenham is never on the agenda for him, which puts me off a wee bit……though might be worth considering some of the big novices from the WPM yard instead.
*Edited, as I had typed Belvano, instead of Savello.
November 20, 2014 at 15:35 #495844Gord i compared SIR ISAAC NEWTON to WONDER OF WONDERS in terms of how horse being trained. Both well bred sorts who ran once at 2 both 2nd and WOW progressed was 2nd in oaks.I see SIR ISAAC NEWTON doing nearly the same but go one place better. What do you think of French horse EPICURIS at 20/1
TELL US MORE 20/1 my neptune horse got any thoughts on horse too.
November 21, 2014 at 17:47 #495940The first 3 home in last years Betfair Chase at Haydock renew rivalry tomorrow as the 3/1 co-Favs and I dont fancy any of them. The 2 young guns in the field will make them all go and both love soft ground, one has proven form over 3m the other has to prove himself but in
Taquin de Seuil
Ante-Post at 7/1 and
Harry Topper
at 12/1 I feel these two 7yo’s will show their elders why this years 2nd season Chasers are a bunch of top class prospects.
November 22, 2014 at 13:41 #496070Thank you very much BetFred for 33s about Silviniaco Conti to win today and the King George, hard race today but if he does manage to win its a nice warmer for Xmas if not its £15 of roulette winnings given back
November 22, 2014 at 15:09 #496083Get in – great ride from Noel Fehily and put him away now til the King George
November 22, 2014 at 15:30 #496089Is Taquin Du Seuil finished TAPK?

Well done tody with SC Gdc. Hope you have better luck than I did last year with that double. Backed Silviniaco Conti @ 12/1 and Cue Card @ 40/1 for the Betfair/King George double. So had Cue Card @ 40/1 going in to the latter race, only to be beaten by Silviniaco Conti.
Value Is EverythingNovember 22, 2014 at 17:15 #496111Ouch – that must have hurt, not at all confident but nice bet to be holding should he get there! I like C Fever for this race but after See More Business, Azertyioup, Kauto Star, Best Mate and One Man, Silviniaco Conti is my fav horse in training
November 22, 2014 at 17:40 #496120Is Taquin Du Seuil finished TAPK?
Been out Xmas shopping today TYF and just watched the re-run,what struck me about
Taquin du seuil
today was his head carriage, he was sticking it out like a horse enjoying himself, his very rounded action looked like he was loving the ground too…….Then somewhere round the 11th,12th and 13th fences his confidence went Pop!
Barry did the right thing in pulling him up.Of course thats not what we want to see in a race and I hope everythings Ok with the horse but it sure dents your confidence when these things happen. If anyone can get him back its Jonjo so fingers crossed fro the future.I expected to see a massive drift on the machine for Cheltenham but no such luck. What todays result does tell us though is ‘Taquin’ could have finished in the first 3 on form so at his best he’s a Grade 1 horse but the jurys out as to which race will be his target for the festival now.
November 22, 2014 at 17:48 #496121Get in – great ride from Noel Fehily and put him away now til the King George

Thats the
Silviniaco Conti
we saw last year Gary and he’s the one to beat in the King George for sure…But Cheltenham Gold Cup???,remember last year on Good ground??
November 22, 2014 at 18:38 #496128Gord: I only want him to turn up for the KG, at least get a run for my chance to win
