Right then TAPK is primed and ready,I’ve had a much needed break from here a few full body massages from 5 Asian stunners and one Ladyboy but hey when yo need to release tension a Thai curry aint the only thing thats Hot out there.I’m looking forward to what could be a National Hunt season to savour,Yeh I can go it alone but there’s some good lads here on DLAPS and I want to see a Team effort.I dont want any negativity and over dramatics,Ginge you reading this?I want to see Foresight and humour,we will march into Cheltenham fully armed with the usual Ante-Post armoury and as per usual make a financial Killing. There’s horses out there this year that could be very special,we all have our opinion of them but one we all now know will win at the festival is Holywell, some of us are on at silly prices and that one horse alone is the Ante-Post dream. The Million dollar question though is will he make it there? Lets hope so and lets hope My Tent or yours goes Nov Chasing as there really is only one target for him,The Arkle and 12/1 might look mean now but when he goes off the 2/1 fav it wont.TAPK will keep things low key for now but like an Orchestra I will build it up to a crescendo come March.March,March March.
September 23, 2014 at 19:52 #490801Good to see you back and read your dulcic tones

Henderson, Nicholls and Jonjo have all had their Open Days and made ‘fighting talk’ statements, really got the fires burning. Personally I’ve had a great flat by sticking to big races and yards that I follow and know inside out!
However, £20 EW on Louis the Pious doesn’t get the heart pacing like a Cheltenham, Wetherby or Aintree card
it has though boosted the coffers lolI like my old mate Silviniaco Conti for the King George as I believe he doesn’t quite get home at Cheltenham. I am looking forward to Southfield Theatre jumping fences and have already chanced him for the RSA. I am concerned that Mr Hendo almost promised MTOY is staying over hurdles as I don’t think he can win the big un but totally agree he looks made for the Arkle and have followed you in

2 dark ones I like are Pearl Swan returning after injury who will be very well weighted and Vago Collonges who looked good 2 seasons back but they couldn’t get him right last year.
September 23, 2014 at 20:25 #490803Whilst on the subject of positivity
have you wagered owt on the Ryder Cup?I have stuck with the most positive player in Ryder Cup in both top European and also outright top scorer markets
September 24, 2014 at 09:17 #490821Good luck this season Gord.

Good luck Gord, hopefully Holywell will be the toast of the forum in March. I’d take Vautour over My Tent Or Yours for the Arkle, but there are murmurs that he could go for the JLT with Un De Sceaux going the two mile route. Expect these murmurs to continue for a further five and a half months, with the likes of Un Atout, Annie Power and Faugheen thrown in for further complication

September 24, 2014 at 15:11 #490837Boston Bob could have a superb season too

I never lost faith in
Boston Bob
but I didn’t get the rewards I should have done from him as my loyalty was with
First Lieutenant
too but like you say Gary he should have a good season particularly as he’s just as effective at 21/2m as he is at 3m1f.A horse who did me proud last year though was
Taquin de seuil
,I had him down as the JLT winner 6 months before the race and I see him as this seasons Ryanair winner,I just cant see Jonjo targeting Gold this year what with both
Shutthefrontdoor
and
Holywell
both looking strong staying types.
September 24, 2014 at 18:18 #490839Listening to Jonjo on Ch 4 it’s great to hear him getting so excited and it can only be a matter of time before he is Champion Trainer. I once met him in a Knightsbridge Billy’s shop, he’d just been up in front of the BHB so wasn’t in the best of spirits, he had a novice hurdler running that was getting hammered in the betting, I politely commented yours is getting well backed, dunno why, has no chance today but will win NTO and then run up a sequence!! Horse was pulled up then won, won again and once more, great chatting to him but despite there being 25-30 in the shop not one person recognised him FFs even the shop manager was clueless

Are they looking for an 8 mile race for Holywell then Gord?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Sorry for being offtopic, but Gord do you trade on betfair? It occurred to me the other day that one has to pay taxes on income through share revenue but not for gambling winnings, so surely trading on betfair is a snider way to go about it? Especially considering the market is fairly predictable when it comes to looking at favourites the night before a race that are going to get backed in
October 1, 2014 at 10:35 #491156Nice you back gord any thoughts on flat classics for 2015
And what you think of maiden winners Consort and Lady Corrospondent.

Virtually all my betting is done on Betfair Ben,the last time I paid Tax on any wagers was when we were paying 10p in the pound,I never failed to pay my Tax as it would have hurt like hell losing it on 10% of winnings. I’m a layer more than a backer these days but do enjoy the ‘Cash out’ facility.TAPK of old wouldn’t entertain such a notion but my last 2 Cash outs both yielded a healthy profit, one was being clever the other being cowardly.

Who am I to question your judgement of 2yo’s Darren but neither won particularly strong maidens imo,
Consort
doesn’t have the breeding to be a Guineas winner nor the coat.I presume we are discussing potential classic winners here?? As for
Lady Correspondent
,I cant believe she’s not Grey too, another not particularly well bred,I’m no fan of ‘War Front’ as a Sire of classic winners as
War Command
proves.
I do like thisIvawood
as a colt who should just get the mile and have taken 16/1 about his Guineas chances.I see my filly
Tapestry
has been supplemented for the Arc and the 16/1 has gone,I’ve got a whole tenner on at 40’s as she will surprise a few.
October 2, 2014 at 16:50 #491218Gord any thoughts on derby next year i was keen on HALL OF FAME
but some mad reason Bolger runs him at 7f he wants a 1m now and middle distances next year.Out of AOB horses JFK looks like being best hope doubts over if OL Man River stay 1m4 do you think he stay. And he yet to run
SHERLOCK HOLMES
PROSPECTOR
IVANOVICH GORBATOV
SIR ISAAC NEWTON.Who already backed for derby who hope comes out soon. And only french horse i like so far is KARAKTAR but doubt he come over.
October 2, 2014 at 21:09 #491234I’ll get back to you on those darren mate,TAPK can only dodge away on the flat these days, its changed so much over the past 30yrs and thats down to handicapping. The Jumps is the Sport of Kings for me and Cheltenham is where I am a law unto myself!
I look at the Ante-Post markets daily and there are horse priced up for races I just cant see them being aimed for.The Fav for the RSA isMore of That
at 7/1!
Why would Jonjo send this fellow Novice chasing when he has at least one more World hurdle in him? Avoid!Briar Hill
looks a Chaser in the making and the JLT is my idea of a natural target and 12/1 looks just about right,Willie Mullins has others that just look more like RSA horses than him.
I saidAnnie Power
would be the new ‘Quevega’ some time back but again she’s priced up for everything.Ruby still thinks she should have won the World hurdle but I can see Willie taking the safe route from now on,she certainly wont be running in the RSA imo.
Vautour
7/1 will make all in the Arkle and set it up for
My Tent or Yours
12/1 so its clear as day these 2 will clash there,No other race for either imo.
My Ryanair horse isTaquin du Seuil
,I cant oppose him at 10/1 and my Gold cup horse is
Holywell
,this fellow is special,12/1 is still huge for a horse with endless scope.
