Sorry for being offtopic, but Gord do you trade on betfair? It occurred to me the other day that one has to pay taxes on income through share revenue but not for gambling winnings, so surely trading on betfair is a snider way to go about it? Especially considering the market is fairly predictable when it comes to looking at favourites the night before a race that are going to get backed in
Virtually all my betting is done on Betfair Ben,the last time I paid Tax on any wagers was when we were paying 10p in the pound,I never failed to pay my Tax as it would have hurt like hell losing it on 10% of winnings. I’m a layer more than a backer these days but do enjoy the ‘Cash out’ facility.TAPK of old wouldn’t entertain such a notion but my last 2 Cash outs both yielded a healthy profit, one was being clever the other being cowardly.

Thanks for the response Gord, going to give it a real try this jumps season, planning on doing only ante-post Cheltenham bets with trading in-between. The cash out option is such a tease!
October 8, 2014 at 18:20 #491763I look at the Ante-Post markets daily and there are horse priced up for races I just cant see them being aimed for.The Fav for the RSA is
More of That
at 7/1!
Why would Jonjo send this fellow Novice chasing when he has at least one more World hurdle in him? Avoid!Jonjo confirmed today that
More of That
will be aimed for the World hurdle again.TAPK doesn’t like to see Ante-Post punters falling for false favs for races they shouldn’t even be priced for.
October 8, 2014 at 18:42 #491765I’ve been backing More of That every month for the World Hurdle since he broke my trebles and accies by beating Annie Power.
My one concern is that Willie may just want to gain revenge as Ruby is adamant he should have won. It’s clear as day that Annie Power would walk the next 4 or 5 Mares Hurdles but I have that tiny concern.
However, I have backed the double and thrown in 3 different horses for cheeky trebles

The Charlie Hall and Hennessey cannot come soon enough
October 10, 2014 at 11:51 #491875The first of the big guns puts his credentials on the line today.
Taquin du seuil
makes his seasonal debut in a tricky little contest at Newton abbot this afternoon.I rate this fellow highly,a future Gold cup horse possibly but a certain Ryanair horse for this season,he is a class above todays field but its not about today.I expect
Double Ross
to tactically steal this and at 13/2 he is over-priced.This fellow had a good season last year,he never stopped improving from 7-8yo and his JLT run against ‘Taquin’ makes good reading.I expect he’ll just be that bit sharper for today as an early season race like the Paddy Power could be his target.I know the handicap blot on the formbook is
Colour Squadron
but he’s just not one to rely on,at the weights he should win but at the prices I’m on
Double Ross
today.

Thing with Taquin is that he can win any sort of race, whether it’s a big field with a strong gallop or a smaller one with a lesser gallop, such is his class. He has a very nice turn of foot for a horse over 2 and a half miles but never gives up when vying for a line, he loves to race. I fell in love with the horse on his seasonal debut last year, when acellerating away from just 3 other rivals on heavy ground and went on to beat Oscar Whisky next time out on good at Cheltenham. Like you said Gord today will be tricky, not only because of the weights but because there’s not way he’ll be 100% today, screw the paddy power gold cup it’s all about the Ryanair.
October 10, 2014 at 17:16 #491902Did we learn anything today at Newton Abbott? Not really,
Taquin du seuill
is a beautiful horse with a little bit of head carriage but he blew up clear as day.Bookmakers viewed it just the same too as for as much I was hoping someone would go 12/1,its still 10/1 best priced for the Ryanair, the only race that counts for me.We did learn
Colour Squadron
is a total jibber and has to be avoided in future.
Double Ross
was just blowing up too when he was sadly brought down,he’ll have his day yet though. The best thing to take from todays result is the fact that the winner
Wonderful charm
couldn’t get near
Holywell
at Aintree, that was a compliment paid today.

October 17, 2014 at 21:40 #492627I’m going to give the flat one more chance tomorrow seeing how its Champions day and if these 4 horses dont all win I’m packing it in.There’s no excuse for any of them getting beat.
Levitate
10’s…….A Snip,a blot on paper, loves this time of year and the ground is perfect he’s on a mark lower than his last victory Ffs.
Gregorian
10’s again has Group 1 form in the bag and the ground is perfect….Got to placed at least.
Noble Mission
16’s down,he’ll run em ragged right up to the point he gets mugged on the line.I’ll forgive him if that happens.
Toormore
20’s,the best 2yo form on offer and its about time he showed why he was rated that……Or is it because the flat is a farce?
October 18, 2014 at 08:22 #492685I still cant believe
Berkshire
went off 20/1 yesterday, even based on his Greenham run this fellow was a Classic pretender. Not one of the field could be classed that, decent handicappers yes.I should have stayed loyal!!
October 18, 2014 at 15:07 #492769Never put in the race, never gonna win BUT excellent place money Gord
October 18, 2014 at 15:12 #492771Great ride from James Doyle and excellent win for you Gord – well done mate
October 18, 2014 at 15:15 #492774I Love the flat GDC…
Ride of the Century,I saw James ride this fellow around Chester back in May and said then he went too fast around a Dog track butNoble Mission
railed it…Today he did it again but bloody
Al Kazeem
cutting him down…WOW…I love the flat!!
October 18, 2014 at 15:28 #492777What a race and what a horse!! You kept the faith Gord – well done mate
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
October 18, 2014 at 15:31 #492779What a race and what a horse!! You kept the faith Gord – well done mate
You kept the faith too….Albeit with a bit of encouragement from your King!
October 18, 2014 at 15:36 #492781TAPK loves it when his confidence is sky high and I’m going for a bit of a touch in the last at Ascot…..I’ve backed
Levitate
at 10’s but I’m going in on
Chil the Kite
at 25/1,a horse I’ve bought over the years. With Peslier buzzing too my fellow will get to travel with ease through the mud and at least get me 5th place.
October 18, 2014 at 15:42 #492782I’ve got 14s Levitate but have taken Sirrius Prospect EW as Tropics went well earlier for Dean Ivory and RFC with Jacks Revenge

A good day there Gord, this flat game is the dog’s danglers when you hit form.
Two of my earlier selections this season, Toormore and Al Kazeem ran belters today and I didn’t have a farthing on either of them.
It makes you wonder though, how a horse can be narrowly beaten in a group 1 but only manage to be 4th in an egg and spoon race at Newbury when 11/10 on his comeback against cuddies. I mean he was entitled to be ring rusty but he really should have been urinating on that lot with a can of cider in one hand and a big spliff in the other.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
