Jolly good. In that grade on that ground and trip he is very good and lobbed along nicely.
Last bet for the day is one that Jessie H nominated as her horse to follow last season. It didn’t quite work out but he did beat my pal Lynwood Gold in the end. He’s against good rivals here and isn’t overly big but worth a few bob ew.2.45 Navan Port Stanley 18-1 0.5pt ew<

Keeping the faith with Esprit du Large
I like the look of Anemoi at Chepstow but will go with his opponent Coconut Splash who is a P2P winner
2.25 Carlisle Esprit du Large evs 2pts win

9-1 win double 0.5ptNovember 8, 2020 at 23:02 #1510149Well done with N”golo today green and for the heads up regarding his chances in big flat handicaps next season.
Great pick and gorgeous looking horse.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 9, 2020 at 17:52 #1510213On fire Grass.
Ngolo, Castlegrace Paddy and Port Stanley 18/1 place.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!November 9, 2020 at 20:41 #1510231Well done Grass, bang in form
November 9, 2020 at 21:03 #1510232Thanks guys, not today though as they both got beat but at least got round!
Both horses perhaps lacking slightly size wise and perhaps better on better ground, and a left handed track for EDL even though he won at Sandown last year.
Anemoi looks another fine chaser for connections, lovely big beast and the Nicholls horse ran well too.
Of my Sunday bets, really pleased with N’golo. Think he’ll get beaten by the star novices- his hurdling wasn’t perfect- but he was so brave in the finish. That QR race at Galway that Patrick keeps trying to win, then the Ces is my race planning for him!
Port Stanley did well but he’s noticeably small and it was more effort for him to get over the fences than the big horses. Back hurdling at some point?
November 11, 2020 at 10:39 #15103563.10 Exeter Sporting John evs 5pts win
Was impressed by this chap round here twice last year, for one so young. He’s not a big horse but neither are the fences and I think he might beat the big Fiddler up the hill, even though the latter is older and has had a prep run.
November 14, 2020 at 23:00 #1510729Sporting John distinctly underwhelming but will see how his season unfolds.
Nice card at Punchestown tomorrow.
Myth Buster runs in the first. I liked the look of him last year and very interested to see what he can do here. Missed the 10s but took 7s ew for a little interest.Latest Exhibition in the next of course was the best over hurdles and looked great under pressure over the last couple and powering up the run in but I was not particularly impressed by his jumping before that and wonder if he might get in bother jumping out of deep ground. Think Elliot’s two will give him something to think about. Run Wild Fred is a fine big strong beast and jumped well last time I thought. It was a bit of a sprint to the line which may have caught him out, especially if he needs a couple of runs to get fit, but I do wonder if big+Shantou = breathing issue that could be holding him back a little and would prefer to go with Pencilfulloflead who learned a lot on his spin round Galway. (Another Shantou, but he came up the hill to win on soft-heavy so proven to finish out a race). Dunno. Might lay Latest Exhibition. I would not make him odds on.
Elimay
runs in the mares hurdle. I love her and nearly put her in my TTF. “It’ll be good to get her started”. Hmm. Willie, is she fit or not?? I don’t think she’ll be given a hard time as she has bigger fish to fry. Got to put a token bet on her though
No bet in the next as not going against the gorgeous Fury Road. Baptism of Fire would be interesting if the ground was better.
Already on Jason the Militant ew at 20s for the big race. Gets his mudbath to play in and also got tongue tie on

No clue or opinion about the last 3 races but keen to see what Envoi wee bro can do!

TBB looks like the perfect staying chaser but it’s a tough enough ask on his first run. WoW is an older, race hardened horse with a recent run under his belt. Ground a question mark I suppose. Doc Penfro is interesting too but I think a race fit horse might be useful today. RdT is one such, gets extreme trips and likes this ground.Cheltenham
1.15 Wolf of Windlesham 11-1 0.5pt win

Pencil got the job done. Coko Beach looking even more interesting now! LE jumped a bit better than I thought he would.
Elimay
so brave done by a fitter horse. Bring on the fences!
Jason ran well but not quite good enough to take the best chance he’ll ever get to win a G1
WoW lacked the scope of the others (TBB has it to burn!)
Ramses de Teille
what a finish! Yala Enki is a super horse. I never really warmed to him before but you couldn’t help but like him. I sort of hope for his sake that Aintree magically gets Red Marauder ground this year and he and Bryony come home in mud spattered triumph, although that is never going to happen nor would you want it to for the sake of the rest.
Greatwood, meh, handicap hurdles.November 18, 2020 at 22:30 #1511307I liked the look of Lord Royal last year so got to have a token bet tomorrow. I seem to be backing every horse in training for the RSA but will leave him be for that. He’s only 5 and a big rangy slow grower with no P2P experience and only a French bumper and two Irish hurdle starts to his name. He also needs time between his races which probably means 3 starts max before the festival. I think he might swerve it again, no point in toiling around getting beaten by the wily Galvin over further either.
Gold Cup 2022??12.50 Thurles Lord Royal evs 1pt win
November 19, 2020 at 01:46 #1511316Very interesting runner that Grass, hope he does it for you.
November 19, 2020 at 21:19 #1511397He jumped very well till the tired splat. Good to see him on his feet cantering through the finish. Really excited about Chantry House tomorrow but too short to bet.
Energumene tomorrow; if he can’t jump I expect they do handicap hurdles then tuck him away for the Flat next autumn.
2.32 Gow Energumene 6-4 2pts win
