A decent run from Class Conti and very good by the winner.
I was a bit sad watching the Thyestes; last year it was about the last meeting my mum really watched and talked about with me and she was reminiscing about trainers and jockeys from her youth. By trials day she was falling asleep in the middle of the races, a few days later she was on a syringe driver and soon after that, well that was that.

The snowdrops are out in her garden and I drove dad’s old land rover to work in the snow last weekend when I couldn’t get my car out of the yard. I’ve a lot to thank them for.

Anyhow true to mum’s habit on a cold windy bleak winter Saturday, I’ve gone round the sheep early and fed the cat and nothing else is urgent so I can tuck in by the fire and watch such racing as is still on today.
