Not yet Darren.
Any fancies yourself?
September 28, 2016 at 19:11 #1265016If you are interested I have backed HALEY BOP 25/1 and ICE LORD 33/1 for Saturday’s race.
September 29, 2016 at 07:00 #1265050I really like Haley Bop Raymo, bet him a couple of times this year, but thought he might just struggle to get in. Good luck
September 29, 2016 at 13:16 #1265085BURNT SUGAR 20/1 for me it is bob and hope OUTBACK TRAVELLER runs on saturday to
September 29, 2016 at 20:11 #1265132Best of luck with the pair of them Darren
September 30, 2016 at 12:54 #1265193Bookmakers appear to be dangling a carrot with Jezki’s sister in the last at Gowran this afternoon. 18/1 looks big to me but I suppose that should be a warning because the stable is usually all over their fancied runners.
Kate Harrington ‘rode’ it on debut and it was probably the poorest ride I saw all season. The two either side have won a couple of times since so it probably wasn’t the worse race ever.
I had already given up on Order Of St George but no surprise the way things are going that he got worst draw. Shame I couldn’t get a bet on that! It should have been an odds on shot.
September 30, 2016 at 15:45 #1265205Great minds and all that stilvi, she didn’t go unnoticed, and got an interest at 16’s and 18’s, so when I seen your post, that gave me some encouragement.
The Harrington yard is probably the one I pay closest attention to in Ireland, and that ride give to Jelan last time didn’t go unnoticed, she really should have won. I had half considered starting up my “notebook” thread when I seen her entry today, but as I do most of my rambling on here, I didn’t bother. Had some great days from the family, particularly with Jetson, though I really should conveniently forget to mention Jett. I think Jelan could be pretty decent, and even another reverse today, won’t put me off keeping on side of her as the season goes on.
More rancid luck for you with that draw, but just have to ride it out now. I don’t normally bet on The Arc, but had a very small bet at 25’s, and 14’s ew, over the last few weeks, and, thankfully, an equally small bet on the withdrawn Almanzour. With a rare Sunday off for me, was looking forward to enjoying it without any significant financial interest to worry about, but having had a quick look at Sundays card, I’ll spend the day hoping and praying that Ivan Grozny can land the Istabraq Hurdle at Tipperary.
September 30, 2016 at 17:08 #1265210Haley Bop runs at Newmarket tomorrow Bobby.
September 30, 2016 at 17:54 #1265214Sadly, about as good/bad as the betting suggested.
It is probably worth saying that the pace was farcical and the ground looked softer than I expected.
She went from what looked an ideal position to a dire one all too quickly and although she made some progress she couldn’t sustain a finish.
The worry going forward is that she looks tiny (dwarfed by the winner) but that said she should find a race somewhere.
October 1, 2016 at 11:48 #1265319Yeah, I think she’ll find one here or there alright. No real excuses yesterday, and well beaten in the end, though I still hope that she can be of a decent standard…….eventually.
Did you see that Empire of Dirt is off to Gordon Elliot?
October 1, 2016 at 11:51 #1265320Cheers Raymo, yeah, well on my radar today, but unfortunately also on what is a very long “shortlist”. Sitting here trying to work out my bets today, and not sure whether she’ll be on my lines, or just an exacta. Decisions decisions, but she is a nice price, and I’ll definitely be doing her in an exacta at the very least.
Good luck with your bets today Raymo, will you be siding with her yourself?
October 1, 2016 at 13:34 #1265339Yeah, I think she’ll find one here or there alright. No real excuses yesterday, and well beaten in the end, though I still hope that she can be of a decent standard…….eventually.

No, I hadn’t seen that. Was there an article about it?
They will probably never recoup the purchase price but hopefully he can step up to graded company this season. Stumbling over those hold up tactics might be the making of him, particularly if he can avoid soft ground. That might be easier said than done.
October 1, 2016 at 14:58 #1265353Yeah, Titus Oates put the list of moves up in The Gigginstown/Mullins thread. Yeah, might be slightly difficult to place now, but fairly hopeful he can land a good pot…….I’ll have to try and catch him when I think the odds are worth it.
October 9, 2016 at 12:10 #1266365Bob just put my jump bets of season in my thread any views mate
October 9, 2016 at 14:33 #1266402After the excitement of Wrath of Titans and Spark Plug, back down to earth yesterday with my Ante-Post bets in The Cesarewitch. I had a proper bet on Grumeti, he’d have been my second biggest winner ever, and with also a few quid on All Set To Go a few weeks back, then a pretty poor race for me. No concerns with my bets on the others I chanced, as they were only for a few quid, but overall a pretty sore race for me

Great to see some proper jumpers back out over the last few days, and no let up today either with a decent card at Chepstow, along with The Munster National.
Gave my thought on The Munster National in my thread in “Big Races”, and main focus for me will be Dare To Endeavour, who I’m on at 20’s ew Ante-Post. Was looking good for him over the last 2 days, with Ruby being booked. He then went as low as 10’s yesterday, but back out to 16’s now, so not a great sign that. I still like him though, and that run last time was a real “eyecatcher”.
All Set To Go, mentioned above, turns out at Chepstow today, and I’ll be watching him closely. I think he’ll have a decent season, and if things go to plan with him today, then I think The Greatwood Hurdle might be on the radar for him.
Had a rare midweek bet on Friday at Newton Abbot, and it was a winning one with The Romford Pele. He went so close to giving me big winner at a huge price at Punchestown on the last day of The Festival, and he’s been in my notebook ever since. For a horse who ran in The National, I think they should concentrate on running him over hurdles, and with his rising mark, there’ll only be so many races for him. It’s a big ask to see him winning it, but if he was mine, I’d seriously be targetting The World Hurdle, where I think he could be competitive. 33’s to find out.
Plenty of eyecatchers yesterday, and though I don’t really concentrate too often on The JLT Ante-Post, there were 2 real contenders on show yesterday. I mentioned Rock The Kasbah last year, as a horse to follow this season, and he didn’t let me down yesterday, with a nice pipe opener, and there’s surely plenty more to come from him. Quite how I managed to leave him “un-bet” remains a mystery to me
The other one for The JLT, was Ordinary World, who was hugely impressive at Fairyhouse. He won over the minimum trip, so that brings The Arkle into the picture I suppose, but anyway, early days, and he’s now of serious interest to me wherever he goes. On that performance though, I think, despite question marks over long term targets, I’d be amazed if he doesn’t make The Festival, he looked a nice one.Last but not least, and it’s my first Jonjo/JP horse of the season, in Another Hero. Ran in the big handicap chase yesterday, and he was, erm, not asked too many questions
. I bet him at Fairyhouse last season in The Irish National, where he fell, but he’s a really promising horse anyway, so he was always going to be of some interest to me this year. I’ve already got a horse in mind long term for The Welsh National, but that race could just be ideal for Another Hero as well, and he joins the early “shortlist”. If The Welsh National isn’t the plan, then keep him in mind for The 3 Miler at Cheltenham on Day 1. On the subject of that race yesterday, then Potters Cross will surely be heading to Chepstow in December as well, he was a nice winner.October 9, 2016 at 18:46 #126644514/1-9/2, so I wasn’t the only one fooled. Quite possibly the main mover of the day.
I was in two minds last time but when I saw the double figure price I couldn’t resist. Never again. Although it was over two furlongs shorter and he was held up this time, the business end was exactly the same. When asked to pick up he has found absolutely nothing. With each disappointment the head carriage seems to get higher.
I said before he was almost certainly an Aga Khan cast-off and although they got the early win out of him perhaps we are now seeing why he was a cast-off?
Ginge’s break sounds like a good idea. At the moment I might as well be throwing money on a bonfire.
Disgraced himself again today. 7/1-11/4 went to front on the bridle but found absolutely nothing when tackled.
October 9, 2016 at 18:53 #1266447Yeah, he bottled it again, one to avoid for sure.
Had a couple of quid on Bainne, and when he came out the pack, I knew with Katyiman in front, I had the winner.
