Very poor from that pair on Thursday, though Sea Eagle got hammered, and was able to get a free race out of him, laying before the off
Winter Fog was a strange one. Never been on my radar for anything before, but now I’ve bet him, and seen how he ran, I’m now certain he’s got a definite target, as no way was he ready to go on Thursday. Hell no doubt appear on here again before the seasons out
Friday was much better. Bashful Boy did the business at 50’s, and for a brief moment I thought he’d win. He’ll get bet again for sure. Reckon he could be Cesarewitch bound again.
Missed the 50’s on Must Be Obeyed for The Blazers, but managed to get her close to that on the exchange, and she paid for the race, plus a small profit, which I was happy with, as Digby was a bigger bet.
Digby’s stablemate Mousey Brown is getting bet today, currently around 33’s. That run from Digby is a big concern, and I’ll be splitting him with Baltic Bird, and Topgun Simmy
Main bets are at Goodwood, and I’m hopeful about the Baker pair

Been a long week, but one more. Love Billy Boy obviously one I’ve been following, but I was concerned about opening price. Normal service restored though, and as per every run this year, getting hammered in the betting

August 20, 2025 at 12:10 #1738345Haven’t had one single bet the last two and a half weeks, as the racing has been desperate since Galway/Goodwood, but much more like it at York this week, and plan to bet every race, bar maybe a couple of the poor looking G1’s. It won’t end well as usual.
Enjoyed Galway/Goodwood, and although a few big disappointments at Galway, Goodwood was kinder, with the highlight definitely Bashful Boy.
Woohoo the main hope today, and fairly confident she can make the six

September 14, 2025 at 12:32 #1739974Another fairly blank spell for me. Had planned to bet every race at The Ebor Meeting, but jacked it after Day one, as the more I looked it at it, the more I realised that, being kind, it wasn’t a Vintage Edition of the meeting. Love The Ebor and The Nunthorpe in particular, but couldn’t muster a bet between the two on the day.
Barely had a bet again since, and only had a couple of minor bets in a couple of the Saturday Races, certainly nothing worth going on this thread. The Sprint Cup was difficult though. Took out the wrong two, and bet the wrong two. If Rage of Bamby had held on for second to Big Mojo, I think I’d have wrapped it up for the season. That would have been too big a forecast to miss.
Back on it today though, as The Leger Meeting ushers in what is by some stretch, the best month of The Flat Season. Always love it from Doncaster to Champions Day.
I’ve bet most races at Donny so far, and it’s not gone well at all, but got three today, and fairly hopeful
Art Power wasn’t the price I wanted really, but he’s win only, and will look for a free race in running

Northfields – This Songisforyou 33’s EW6Pls/33’sSeptember 20, 2025 at 15:03 #1740397Another great run from Big Gossey on Sunday, and he’s fair paid his way. The other pair less impressive, but will be bet again
Ayr Gold Cup the main race for me today, and I’ve stuck a wee top up to seven places, for all I didn’t want him sneaking into this

Jordan Electrics 33’sSeptember 24, 2025 at 07:20 #1740539Get The Kerry National wrong more often than not, and this years line up, though a cracker, is very tricky.
Duffle Coat was a straightforward selection. Form Figures don’t look up to much, but I think he can still win something like this, so I’ll follow him till he tells me otherwise.
Had a late change of heart, and also added Spanish Harlem, having had another few in the shortlist

Spanish Harlem 11’sSeptember 24, 2025 at 16:56 #1740569Wow, fantastic late spot, Bobby. keep it up!
September 25, 2025 at 20:14 #1740612Thanks mate, first return in the race for a while, so really happy. Main body at 11’s, but had wee top up when he went out. Had written him off when he drifted, so pleasant surprise with the 16’s
September 28, 2025 at 12:28 #1740788Ducked Saturday, and only a couple of small bets, which was just as well, as both well out the money. A pair I’ll bet again though. Second time in three years I’ve watched The Cambridgeshire without a runner, and given how the potential backups ran, that was a wise decision
Much better card today at The Curragh, so waited for that. The Irish Cesarewitch is a cracker. All over the place with it, but with massive prices for my trio, I’m having a go. Dawn Rising giving me a headache, but if he looks competitive, I’ll cover him in running, obviously at much shorter than current odds.
Definitely a few other bets on the go today, with the likes of Big Gossey, Art Power, and Havana Pusey running, while Sharkeyboy a very interesting recruit for Mullins. Reckon I’ll bet every race at The Curragh today
Irish Cesarewitch

SiriusOctober 11, 2025 at 12:15 #1741721Swerved last weekend on the whole, with just a few small bets here and there.
Delighted with Art Power at The Curragh, but not amused at not taking the bigger prices for Ascot on him. Rounded up a good week that, after Spanish Harlem at Listowel
Pleased I sat last weekend out for bigger punts, as bar Born Slippy, who I thought showed a lot of promise.
All about Winter Fog today, and though now drifting a little, I’m hopeful. I’ve topped The Shunter, and will again, should he go bigger. He’s drifting more than a little. Bashful Boy I’m hoping outruns his odds. Dawn Rising is the one I’d back today. Stupidly left him at 25’s, but can’t justify adding him in any shape or form now.
Racing really good today, and I’ll have smaller interests in most of the races at Fairyhouse and Chepstow. Thanksforthehelp remains of interest this season, and I’ll have a smaller bet on him, just because he’s big odds, while I’ll cover The Sprint Trophy with Bergerac and Jordans Electric. In the case of Jordans, I’ll mainly be betting him to get back the money I’ve already wasted on him this year

Winter Fog 80’s EWOctober 12, 2025 at 10:11 #1741875Winter Fog was my biggest bet of flat season, but I never really felt it was happening yesterday, and at least no excuses. Terrible renewal though, and didn’t even feel like a Cesarewitch.
Main interest is in The Beggars End today. My big hope lies with Faicon Eight. Kept in training, and he’s ran well in this before. He’s weighted to go well, and hoping to beat 33’s. I like betting him this time of year
Comfort Zone will be backup, despite letting me down last time
Edit – Brazil got in. Cashed out Comfort Zone, as I can handle it if I miss him at that price

Falcon Eight 35’s EW6Pls/150’sOctober 18, 2025 at 09:19 #1742241Nothing doing at Naas, but the one I didn’t bet in the end, Comfort Zone, will probably get bet at some stage over the winter
Few bets on the go today, and all covered on Big Races, while I like Ardisia in the new race.

Balmoral – Bopedro 25’s EW5PlsOctober 19, 2025 at 12:49 #1742495Smashing day yesterday, over the moon with the 100’s on Cicero’s Gift, and the fact that I had him on this threads opening post as one of few notebook horses for the flat this year made it even sweeter
Throw in the EW’s over 20’s with Ardisia, and Bopedro, made it smashing day all round
Munster National today, and I’m with this pair, however incredibly difficult to desert the McNamara duo

October 20, 2025 at 18:24 #1742637Good to hear from you mate. Yeah, unbelievable that one, well chuffed
Jumps hotting up now, and looking forward to a good few over the coming weeks
October 23, 2025 at 10:59 #1742766Just caught up with Cicero’s Gift, VtC! We’ve been laid low with….courgette poisoning – yes, it’s really a thing – a very bad thing if you ever have the misfortune. I grew ’em myself, too. Caused by an excess of cucurbitacin which the plant produces to deter predators in certain circumstances….
The Cicero’s Gift must be close to your all time antepost winners?
Let us hope that scorcher means that you will be running rings round the odds for the forthcoming jumps season.
October 24, 2025 at 05:17 #1742804I’ll no lie to you mate, you’re definitely the first person I’ve ever heard of to have Courgette Poisoning. Hope you are both on the mend, and it doesn’t put you off growing them
Yeah, Cicero’s was unreal, and hopefully a few more to come. My third return at 100’s this season, so I’ve got to be happy with that
Cheltenham back today, and though it’s not always the case for The Showcase Meeting, both cards look excellent
I’ll be betting every race with this pair, of particular interest
