Not a race I always go mad for, but this looks a lot more interesting renewal than usual, plenty catching the eye
Leaving aside the fact that I’ll definitely bet Faivoir as usual if he goes, then I did like this trio……
Gooloogong
Messerschmitt
Star of GuitingIf my first selection doesn’t go, then I’ll look there, but I’m itching to bet Game Colours. Liked his attitude earlier in the season, and same again at Exeter when he won last time. He was too short for me that day, but the 33’s here, is a lot more like it. Unfortunately he can go back to Exeter Friday, so holding fire just now (but on verge of buckling)
Edit, Game Colours doesn’t go Exeter, but not convinced he goes here either. Bet him anyway up to 65’s, along with Faivoir
Faivoir 40’s EW
Game Colours 65’sEdit – Messerschmitt 35’s EW6Pls
March 3, 2026 at 14:15 #1757011No Ordinary Joe showed much more last time at Ascot only weakening out of it on the run in. Dropped another 1lb (14lb lower than when Faye Bramley got him) and dropped back in distance to 2 miles, 33-1 ew with Skybet will do for me.
March 3, 2026 at 15:28 #1757018Interesting call, sc. He shaped like the winner 2 out, before fading. Can’t see why he’d be dropped another pound for that?
Big disparity in the prices with plenty around 16-1 – might suggest that some firms think he might be going straight to the County? Otherwise looks a decent punt.March 3, 2026 at 20:56 #1757110Oscar, he’s no. 62 in the County so hopefully he won’t get in. Thanks for pointing it out though.
March 3, 2026 at 21:23 #1757115Like always going with Favoir. Second in this on 136 last year and now on 130.
Favoir 40/1 EW
March 4, 2026 at 23:20 #1757202Khrisma might well be better than a handicapper and, despite the short price, I’ll back her. The improving Star Of Guiting will be my saver.
Good luck
JoeMarch 5, 2026 at 10:36 #1757225Nardaran is going to be my main bet in this, but I’ll also have to have Go Dante on my side too
March 5, 2026 at 14:34 #1757236Star Of Guiting 20/1 e/w 1/5 odds 6 places
Won a couple of races for the Twiston-Davies stable last season and has progressed nicely for Ewan Whillans this term. Won well at the Musselburgh Ne’er Day Meeting and followed up with a win in the Scottish County Hurdle from a few pounds out of the weights, cruising up to lead before the last and doing no more than he had to hold on comfortably. Had thought he might be aimed at the Morebattle, but either that was considered Cracking Rhapsody territory OR Star Of Guiting is considered best going right handed.
March 5, 2026 at 15:47 #1757238Rob, I see the unreliable Static, who was last in that Musselburgh race, just hacked up at Haydock
March 6, 2026 at 12:02 #1757283Meschersmit at 25/1 is my ew call here
March 6, 2026 at 13:41 #17572952 in this, early doors:
No Ordinary Joe 22s
Ooh Betty 25s
Both win only
March 6, 2026 at 17:01 #1757311sergeantcecil’s early call on No Ordinary Joe has been backed up by the usually astute Matt Brocklebank this evening. Here’s hoping… 🤞
March 6, 2026 at 18:54 #1757333I like two in this Bubble Dubi, and Gooloogong.
Bubble, been off a while then won, and hopefully bounced at Newbury last time, so 50s E/W 5 places is worth a interest.
Gooloogong, George Baker, very astute trainer, not known much for his jumps runners, worth a shot at 28s E/W 5 places.March 6, 2026 at 18:57 #1757335Apologies, Gooloogong is 20s E/W. Doh..silly me
March 6, 2026 at 21:48 #1757384Top Jimmy 16/1 EW
