Poor stuff all round yesterday. Bet every race, and nothing ran well. Loved the run of one I left out though, Brookie

Bets all over the place today, but nothing of serious note, other than being greedy with Escaria Ten. If he doesn’t run well today, I’d expect him to bounce back here in November or December

Not betting him, but really interesting to see Waterford Whispers today. Of big interest to me this season.

Escaria Ten, although an eventual PU, was a good bet. Always going to lay off if I could, as it was a big, greedy bet, and I made a small profit, once he challenged. Definitely betting him at next meeting.

Always enjoy Charlie Hall Day, but bets thin on the ground yesterday, and just token gestures.

Main bet of weekend, is A Penny A Hundred in The Cork National, and just had a small top up

No real bets since A Penny A Hundred, which I think put me off it lol

Usually have a lot more at this meeting, but just bits and bobs on Big Races, which I was glad of.

Panic Attack a proper notebook horse, and though I can beat my Antepost 8’s just now, I’d only top up if she hit 10’s, which would be a worry in itself anyway

That went like clockwork for once, and was confident the whole way round. Always liked her, proper notebook horse, and pleased she hit a big one. Those two Antepost bets were a bit knee jerk, caught up in the moment, and as I said, certainly now in the cold light of day, it’s seems highly unlikely she’ll go to either of those races.

The only niggle I had, was not taking the 16’s, especially when she made the shortlist on the thread, even before the entries, but I suppose I would never have taken that anyway, given she’s always very risky Antepost

    Some days racing ahead.

Born at Midnight my big hope, but seems too good to be true, while although Pied Piper is a target horse of mine this year, this doesn’t feel like the target. The stables other Giggs runners, Will Do and Search For Glory were close to being bet, but in the end I chose Favori De Champdou.

I’ve got a god awful record in The Greatwood, but I’ve taken a profit on Laafi which has made a decent dent in my stakes, and went with Faivoir and Dedicated Hero. Faivoir is a regular on these threads, but god knows if this is the plan. Sandy Thomson was a regular on these threads, but I tend to swerve his now on the whole, and he’s very costly to follow. Dedicated Hero is his best just now, though I’d have preferred Haydock for him. Maybe noteworthy that he heads here.

Finally, a horse I’m really excited about. Kim Roque. Think he could be very good

What a day Sunday, and though nobody getting their heads in front, it certainly paid its way, with all four races keeping me ahead

Born at Midnight was too big a bet, because I had to top up when he went 66’s, so he was comfortably laid off for a free bet beforehand.

Kim Roque was a big bet too, and he was laid off in running. I’m convinced he has a huge future

The main hope in The Troytown, Favori, was poor, but from the Race Thread, Pied Piper did me proud at the 33’s

Last but not least The Greatwood. Dedicated Hero one off the EW, but my old buddy Faivoir did me proud yet again, and a significant profit in running. Fourth return from a 100-1 shot this season, and that’s something I’m chuffed about

Fabulous racing today and tomorrow, and loads of bets on the go, though none as big today as last week, and wasn’t going to put any up, but I have to give an old friend, Royal Pagaille, a big shout, and I hope he does it. I think he could surprise

Betfair Chase – Royal Pagaille 14’s

Royal Pagaille did me proud yesterday, not fur the first time, and though not a massive bet, was certainly the biggest yesterday, and comfortably got a profit in running

James Du Berlais the main bet today, but Midnight Our Fred back out, and hopefully back on track for The Paddy Power, after that flop in The Kim Muir, and in The Pertemps Qualifier, I just know that Brazil will qualify, leading me to get over excited about him, before he ends up back over fences anyway

Done well lately, laying off the main selections on here this season, but no such worries with James Du Berlais in The John Durkan. I was strangely confident that he’d do really well in the “second race” but he didn’t get close, and I was genuinely a wee bit disappointed, despite the odds. Now I’ll have to bet him again this year.

On to Saturday, and what a line up for The Coral Gold Cup. Best renewal in years, and though it makes life tough for anyone having a go, it’s some race.

Got three running for me, and almost a free race for me, thanks to the lay on Panic Attack, but my top up on A Penny A Hundred to get six places, meant I couldn’t quite do it, but pressure off, and I won’t have to lay much in running to make a profit. Also considering a few bob extra on Spanish Harlem, as I think I should be able to beat the 20’s

Panic Attack and Spanish Harlem already done the business for me this season, while A Penny A Hundred was a bigger loser at Cork. I like all three tomorrow, but as I said, this is a deep race.

Porterstown was a sore one, but delighted with how Blake ran. Thought he’d won it. Big R4 on that one, but happy enough, and he’s one to follow

Smashing Saturday again, and treble handed at Aintree, while I’m hoping that Libberty Hunter can stay on his feet

Cooling on White Rhino a little, while I’m still thinking this could still be a Chepstow prep for Val Dancer. The one I’ve got greedy on is Roi Mage, and really like him here EW.

Happy with the 17.5’s on Val Dancer, and 25’s White Rhino. Definitely a race where I’ll look for stakes back in running

Miles off it yesterday with that pair. Libberty Hunter has been a poor shout so far, and unless that was an educational spin only yesterday, he still clouted one, and not one to get excited about. I can cash main part out, but I’ll just keep it.

I hope that’s the last time I get the opportunity to bet Roi Mage. I laid off my White Rhino bet before the race, couldn’t have him, and put it the way of Val Dancer (win only), to give him a bigger return, but no joy.

O’Connell did the business for me at Sandown, but all it did was pay for my Becher Chase stakes, and there were a few other lower stake losers, and it felt like a damp squib, even with impressive O’Connell

On to today, and signs are ominous for Banbridge, but no way can I let him go at 25’s

I’m only betting Grozni off last years form, not this years, and although I’ve been touting Sandy Thomson yard for long enough on here, equally, his must still be treated with caution. If it’s a no show today, then I’ll have to stick with him, and could be one for Edinburgh or Scottish National later in year. Had a saver on Cadell at 11’s, as he did win well last time

Got a few bets kicking about tomorrow, and Crystal Cup has been crazy.

J’Arrive De L’Est has been laid for a free race as he utterly collapses in price, but a proper promising one, and only laid enough for a free race, and to add Peaches and Cream. Peach

Peaches is a horse who’s caught my eye loads of times over the years, and I’m not sure why. Only ever bet him once though, and that was a losing Antepost.

I give Unanswered Prayer a squeak, but he has to improve on the only time I bet him before, when he was poor at Kempton

I’m really interested with the inclusion of Favori De Champdou to this sphere, with a view to March

Seddon was too big at 33’s, but I suppose he’s a bit risky. Just love his closeness to Springwell Bay last season, a proper star we didn’t get to enjoy.

I’m very hopeful about Blaze The Way, and the 14’s looked mad

Elsewhere on card, Minella Marathon is a proper promising one, while connections of Glsnce st Midnight do well with what they’ve got. Kyntara considered later, but a busy day, and I’ll look later

Thanks mate, loved that, like clockwork really, just wish it was always like that.

Good day all round in “Big Races”, with Glance at Midnight 33’s EW, and The Crystal Cup being a free race, and Kyntara getting a small profit in running at the last

Big day tomorrow for one of my big hopes for the season, Kim Roque, and I just hope he goes really well. Not really looking at anything else, but I might save on Imperial Saint

Quite a low key Saturday apart from that, but some rare bets in Mares Hurdles with Gane Colours and Lavida Adiva

Lavida Avida was an inspired selection, there, Bobby. Pulled away from the challengers pretty smoothly.

Thanks mate, an unusual race for me, and glad I picked the correct one. It’s a rare approach for me, but there was nothing much to suggest that Kateira should’ve been a long odds on fav, I had to take her on.

That was the good news. The bad was Kim Roque, that was a big bet, and a major disappointment. The Lavida winnings just got me a small profit, after that stake on Kim Roque, which I had hoped to lay off.

Decent weekend though, and I know I should leave it now, but a horse I’ve not bet for ages, Sir Bob, really appealed today. 13yo now, but I think he can go well. He’ll either run well or be getting rousted along early doors

    Sir Bob 25’s EW4Pls

That went really well from the old boy there, great effort, and turning for home, I thought he might just hold on

Really pushing my luck now, but off the back of that, one more for the weekend

    1500 Navan – Salmanino 66’s EW4Pls

Salmanino definitely one bet too far
