Really chuffed with how Promontory did that the other day, and should definitely be more to come. Just as happy with Fishery Lane, and same sentiment certainly applies to him.
Quieter weekend obviously, but Game Colours a bigger bet than I expected, with a small backup on Messerschmitt EW
Imperial Cup

Both 50’s EW6Pl/65’sMarch 8, 2026 at 14:17 #1757624Very happy with the 50’s on Messerschmitt, and very welcome, as Game Colours was a decent bet. Won’t be in a rush to bet her again
Leinster National today, and split stakes with Buachaillbocht, who I’m not convinced with, while Built By Ballymore I’m more confident in
I’ve had a decent bet on Shanbally Kid for Irish National, I’ve bet him to cover those stakes only.

Built By Ballymore 8’sMarch 10, 2026 at 11:32 #1757883Ballymore very unlucky, thought not 100% that he would’ve won. I’m not convinced. However, still happy, as I laid for a free race, as I had that Folly Master Antepost bet to consider too
On to the big stuff, and what a line up. Every race, bar The Arkle yet again, looks a cracker, and a proper old school feel to it.
Bets are up on the race threads, and all been edited in last ten minutes. Johnnywho and Midnight It Is probably the main ones, though I made decision not to update Midnight, as I had enough on at 22’s.
Still no bet yet in Champion, but swaying towards Golden Ace. People saying it’s a poor renewal?? They’ve obviously been living in a cave the last few years. This looks decent to me, and every single horse you’d expect to be there is there. Happy to enjoy it without a bet too
Looks a good week ahead, and most races very strong. Particularly looking forward to my two rags in Champion Chase tomorrow, but I’m less looking forward to one, if not both of them being Non Runners. Brookie must be Evens to get pulled
Ultima – Johnnywho 20’s
Plate – Midnight It Is 22’s EW6PlsMarch 11, 2026 at 11:23 #1758328Johnnywho a big winner yesterday, delighted with that, and smaller EW from Union Station later too, meant a good start
Made a mess of both Jingko Blue, and Cross Coubtry, but threads edited, and Conflated added
Still waiting on Brookie getting pulled lol

March 11, 2026 at 13:16 #1758406Thanks Nath, appreciate that mate. Enjoy your day today and good luck
March 11, 2026 at 21:06 #1758728Absolutely remarkable selections! Speechless.
March 12, 2026 at 15:17 #1758982Unreal day mate, just delighted with that
Main ones today……
Stayers – Doddiethegreat 240’s
Kim Muir – Kim Roque 12’sMarch 12, 2026 at 22:21 #1759206Tuesday and Wednesday were brilliant, but bubble properly burst today.
Doddiethegreat was a big fancy, and a big return, but he faded badly, while Kim Roque was frustrating again. Still think there’s a good prize in him though, and opportunity to keep him up in trip now as well
Rest were smaller bets, but bar Monbeg Genius and Lavida EW, nothing to write home about. Banbridge going short meant I could lay him before the off as well, for a free race
**This post was tidied up 19th March
Main hopes tomorrow………
Albert Bartlett – Doctor Du Mesnil EW5Pls
Gold Cup – Firefox EW 4PlsMarch 14, 2026 at 14:42 #1759951Taking it very easy today, but I’m giving The Midlands National a go.
I’m betting tomorrow, so I’ll go over Cheltenham then.
Midlands National
Grand Albert 14’s
Minella Blueway EW6Pls/66’sMarch 20, 2026 at 21:34 #1760585Was supposed to go over Cheltenham last Sunday, when I was planning on putting Big Gossey up, but after he hit 100’s on the exchanges, I decided that Sunday wasn’t the day (I still topped up at 109’s though)
Betting tomorrow though, so quick recap on Cheltenham. Really good one this year, and again, followed the rules I set after that tough week in 2024
First two days were the highlight. Johhnywho was a big win, the one I always wanted with him, and the smaller EW on Union Station rounded Tuesday off
Wednesday was even better with the Jingko Blue win and fair swipe at the 50’s EW with Franciscan Rock. Best till last though, and after waiting nearly a year, some buzz when Libberty Hunter came in.
Thursday a different story though, and though EW’s from Monbeg and Ladiva, as well
as a good lay on Banbridge for a free race, my bets on The Stayers, along with a big bet on Kim Roque meant a sore dayFriday was better, and managed to come out slightly ahead. Was always going to be cough, as I’d a big losing “book” on The Gold Cup. Cracking Rhapsody at 66’s, and Musuc Drive at 50’s made a big difference, as did laying Hot Fuss in running for a free race
Happy overall then, and no lessons to be learnt, though betting Stattler when he clearly had little to zero chance (and I did say before), wasn’t wise.
Biggest mistake though was Firefox. I didn’t mention this beforehand, as didn’t get it up on time on here, but had Firefox at 800’s, and I didn’t layoff a bean. Stupid
Stayers and Gold Cup were big losers, but I’ll do the exact same next year.
Doubt I’ll have to spend too much time going over tomorrow’s selections.
Starlyte has ground, course, and trip in her favour, as well as interesting run last time, but maybe one for Aintree. Worth a go though
Hercule Du Seuil also questionable, but he is notebook horse, and though I missed the price, he’s another who’s last run caught the eye, and I’d top up if he drifted
Elsewhere, I’m interested in Built By Ballymore at Navan, and Rememberthename at Kelso, while as much I’d love to see Val Dancer go well, I’ll swerve him at current odds
Beeswing – Starlyte 125’s EW
Superboost Chase – Hercule Du Seuil 8’sMarch 24, 2026 at 13:57 #1760848AS usual, plenty of quality in there,ante-posts looking good budd.
March 24, 2026 at 19:32 #1760887Cheers mate, great to see you back on here.
Really enjoyed this season a lot, but still over a month left, so hopefully a few still to come. Any one of them Anteposts would be smashing
March 24, 2026 at 19:39 #1760888Starlyte was well held, but still infuriating that he got fourth. Didn’t get a chance to edit, but has topped up to 250’s as well. Definitely one to follow this Spring
Hercule Du Seuil easy beat, but hopefully catch him with sights lowered
Having a midweek bet, which hasn’t happened too much this season. Like a bet in The Hexham Marathon, and though a few pounds out the handicap, went with Rob Roy McGregor. Hoping for a going day for him. Sandy Thomson had a better time of it lately, albeit mainly with shorter priced ones, but hoping to beat current 8’s anyway
Hexham Marathon – Rob Roy McGregor
March 28, 2026 at 14:01 #1761249Rob Roy ran really well, and no excuses
Galeron the main hope today, and happy with the 40’s. Didn’t get him EW though, and he certainly looks an EW horse. He’s getting bet, but not enough for me to lay before the off. Hopefully get a chance to get stake back in running
Some other old favourites on show today, and hopeful of a bit of joy. Few on the go at The Curragh, but Galeron the main hope at Doncaster.
Lincoln – Galeron 40’s
Ulster National thread updated
March 28, 2026 at 16:51 #1761324Did you get 33s? Big Gossey is a favourite of ours and it was fab to see him dig in and leave them all trailing!
March 28, 2026 at 19:08 #1761352Yeah mate, got 40’s. Absolutely delighted with him. He’s been some horse to follow, and no reason why he can’t win again.
Galeron disappointed, no excuses either, but easier to take after Gossey. Great to get a good Flat Winner on the board, but definitely last one I’ll put up till the flat season gets going for me at Royal Ascot
Ulster National the big race of the day tomorrow, and hopes lie with Brandt and Fishery Lane. I’ll add Ontheropes in running, but that’ll obviously be well short of current odds if he’s going well
The last jumps meeting at Ascot always a strange day, but managed to dig two out.
Moroder on trust, but I thought I seen promise at Cheltenham from Bandjo, and chanced him again
