Nothing doing last Sunday, but Bandjo one to follow I think
Massive week ahead, but a quiet enough Saturday. I’ve bet Kings Hill and Thurman at Fairyhouse, while considering Davy Crockett and Blow Wind Blow, though both short enough
Main race for me Saturday is Veterans at Haydock
Dreal Deal 25’s EW6Pls/33’s
Lord Baddesley 20’sApril 6, 2026 at 16:57 #1762204Very happy with that from Dreal Deal
Bigger fish today, and Shanbally Kid my best of the season, but the jockey booking (I’ve no problem with him), and the market suggest I should be too excited
Duffle Coat 100’s EW6Pls
Shanbally Kid 50’s EW/40’s EW6PlsDidn’t bet Monbeg Genius, thread updated
April 9, 2026 at 11:27 #1762428Knew my fate with Shanbally before the off, but plenty of encouragement with how he went, and he’ll definitely be bet next time. Wasn’t my biggest bet of the year, but would have been biggest winner through other bets, but just not to be. Confident I’ll get that back
Only a couple to put up today
Very much like Shanbally, the market is ominous for Brookie, but I’ll stick with him. Stupidly didn’t take the 9-2 for Sans Bruit, so I’ll add Boothill for interest if Sans doesn’t drift
Midnight Musical an interesting one in the last. She looks up against it, but on Galway run, not out of it, and they’ve came over. Definitely worth a risk
Red Rum – Brookie 28’s EW5Pls
Nickel Coin – Midnight Musical 100’s EW5plsApril 10, 2026 at 16:03 #1762789Both terrible selections yesterday. Midnight Musical stone last, and should’ve left Brookie after the Ascot run
Topham main interest of day, and I’d love O’Moore Park in particular to go well
Il Atlantique 16’s EW
O’Moore Park 40’s EWApril 10, 2026 at 23:21 #1762904Much better today, and profit on the race from Il Atlantique, but should’ve won. O’Moore Park didn’t seem to like it that much, though still made a go of it near the end
On to the big one. It’s maybe much changed, but it’s still the biggest day of the year for racing, by some distance, so hoping it’s a good one
Got three decent bets running in it, and any of them would be welcome. Preference right now would be for Champ Kiely
Banbridge has been covered at 50’s, from a sentimental point of view, and I’ve taken same price Imperial Saint, who was a target horse of mine at start of season for Aintree. Probably worth noting that it was for The Old Roan
If I Can’t have the winner, please let it be Panic Attack
Few others of interest too

Grand National – Quai De Bourbon 66’sApril 15, 2026 at 12:55 #1763661Enjoyed a decent time of it Saturday, with Eagle Fang 40’s, and Konfusion 20’s, getting me some decent place money
The National obviously a bigger betting race, and only money back on Johnnywho in running, but it made a dent if nothing else.
After a good EW return at start of season, I’ve not had much from Mousey Brown, but I’m confident she’s going to outrun her odds today
Silver Trophy – Mousey Brown 25’s EW5Pls
April 16, 2026 at 17:04 #1763851Thought I was on a winner with Mousey for most of the race, but was settling for place money when she came down. Happy before the mishap
There is no doubt was is my worst card of the year, and it’s the Friday Card at Ayrs National Meeting. It’s always a disaster
I’ll still go through the card, but the only one I’m confident enough to put up is Eyed
Thistle Cabs Hurdle – Eyed 25’s EW5Pls
April 17, 2026 at 22:35 #1764018That run from Eyed, sums up why I shouldn’t bet the Friday. Hopefully the Saturday fares better
Going with Starlyte, and the Sandy Thomson duo.
Still can’t get my head round what they’re trying with Starlyte, but she’s got a good pot in her
Aeros Luck I give an EW chance, no more, but in a weak enough Scottish Champion Hurdle, Dedicated Hero would still have to be at his very best, which he hasn’t shown so far, in a slightly disappointing campaign
All about the big one though tomorrow, and hopeful one of these will do the business
Scottish National

Kim Roque 12’s
Promontory 66’s EWApril 18, 2026 at 19:35 #1764202Great stuff, VtC. Did you go for Dedicated Hero, in the end? Kap Vert was a great price at SP. I haven’t been following much recently and when I looked at the field for the National, I thought that they all could win. Kim Roque keeps being almost there. Joe fancied Katate Dori and I thought it was lining up to win, but it fell back. Congrats again.
April 18, 2026 at 20:44 #1764213Thanks mate. Crazy day, and my best of the season, unreal.
Had Dedicated Hero 22’s (R4) in the end, along with Kap Vert 22’s also. Also got The Seafield Trophy winner, Game Colours 10’s after Starlyte came out (as per race thread)
April 18, 2026 at 21:06 #1764217Superb day Vtc ..

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 19, 2026 at 06:04 #1764257Thanks Nathan, much appreciated mate
April 23, 2026 at 22:47 #1764596Doubt it’ll be as good a day as Saturday, but hoping another National north of the border can get me a few quid.
Brandt was the Antepost pick, and I’ll top up four places. The other one I’m adding is Fortunedefortunata, who was awful the last time I bet him, but can much better for new yard last time
Also with Wa Wa Antepost in the hurdle. Won’t top that up, as happy with what I’ve got

Perth Racecourse Hurdle – Wa Wa 25’s EWApril 25, 2026 at 11:51 #1764761No show in The Highland National, but delighted with Wa Wa, and so close to the win
I’m sticking with Brookie today, and in The Bet365 Gold Cup, went with Invincible Nao, but not that strong on this years race, so not as big a go as usual
I’ve edited the race threads a couple of times already, and will do again, if I have to top up

B365 Gold Cup – Invincible Nao 25’s EW5/33’sApril 28, 2026 at 13:16 #1765102Last week of my season, and it’s been a good one, so I’ll be a bit more gung ho today, and stock up all five. If it’s carnage, I’ll no doubt rein it in tomorrow
With that drift on Blood Destiny, I think I can write him off

1800 Blood Destiny 125’s EWApril 29, 2026 at 09:35 #1765198Decent enough day yesterday, as along with blood Destiny, Moab was a greedier bet, and he comfortably paid for the day, along with a small late EW on Blake when he went double figures
Messier today, and hasn’t planned to top up my Antepost on Grangeclare, but even though the 33’s tells me “no”, I’ve topped up anyway.
Biggest frustration is not being able to bet King Alexander, who’s a proper notebook horse

Grangeclare West 33’sApril 30, 2026 at 09:36 #1765335Not so good yesterday, and that one return, the EW on Cloonainra, was a much smaller one, so made little impact on the day.
Hoping for better today, and Franciscan Rock will be biggest bet of the week (no doubt along with whatever I pick in the two big chases on Saturday)
