Stud fees for the last 5 Derby winners:
Authorized £25,000
Sir Percy £8,000
Motivator £15,000
North Light $25,000
Kris Kin €4,000(Note Kris Kin is the only one to have progeny seen on a track thus far).
And that leaves out Sinndar, High Chaparral and Galileo out of the last 10 winners…all three started out with high stud fees.
Sinndar, High Chaparral and Galileo all won the Irish Derby also.

May 15, 2008 at 23:04 #163780Can see motivator doing well at stud and think out of all of them he would be the best value. North Light never really did much for me as a horse, and find his stud fee pretty high. Especially with all coolmore danehill sires from the last few seasons failing to really shine, rock of gibraltar (who covered some really good mares), where or when, spartacus, clodovil, mozart and even choisir havent exactly been hits.
I am really starting to think that High Chaparral is proving an absolute disaster at stud, the only one of his first crop that really looks to be up to black type level is that barry hills one that was placed in the cheshire oaks.

OK you win MP..my last post, thanks to the good people of the forum for the last few years, its not what it used to be anymore.
Over and Out.
Totally agree CR.
When the forum becomes a board for one person complaining about how jockeys rode their losers, and another for forcing opinions down our throats about value when he has failed to price any race accurately without using someone else’s prices, then it becomes a laughing stock.
The Betfair forum seems quite attractive in comparison!May 16, 2008 at 00:00 #163790OK you win MP..my last post, thanks to the good people of the forum for the last few years, its not what it used to be anymore.

The Betfair forum seems quite attractive in comparison!A forum gets its reputation from members not abusing other members.
You don’t have to read it if you thinkl that Reet. Not forcing anything, it is when some know they have lost the arguement, they get abusive. Have told you I give my tips on another forum and do not want to or have the time to do it here. Have even PM’d Reet with the name of said site so proven my ability to do exactly what he says I have not done here. I can give anyone the proof if wanted. Why do you say I use someone elses prices Reet? I do not use anyones prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give evidence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can not!!!!!!!! What does that make you Reet????? Think you should take that back!!!!!!

The reason I like this forum so much is it has knowledgeable members who are interested in racing not betting.

Ginge how the hell can you say that when all you constantly go on about is a horses percentage chance of winning? Pretty much all your analysis of a race is on the back of percentage and value – that is betting orientated. You show little interest on the racing side in any other form.
May 16, 2008 at 07:40 #163808I have expressed my opinion about many different subjects on here Flash, as I know you have. It is just that I have got in to a heated debate about value. I concede, it is a favourite topic, as is horse welfare. But what I mean above by betting is, other sites are not interested in the politics of betting just the tipping side.
May be I do go on about true value a little too much but it is an important aspect that I believe is not highlighted nearly enough by racing media. And I only go on about something if I am asked about it or someone comments about it. In the last fracas all I said was "depends on the prices" and both you and Fist caulled it ilogical and Fist even said it was "crazy". I was happy to leave my opinion at four words before that. So It might also be that some anti-value members are obsessed with the subject.

But for Reet to come out with such an attack here is uncalled for and a blatant LIE. What evidence can he have of using someone elses prices? Have never done so, and if I was one that sold my tips I would take legal action over his stupidity.

May 16, 2008 at 08:33 #163833People –
Can we put our egos aside and conduct these discussions without the personal insults/attacks.
I am getting absolutely fed up of the recent tendency for a majority of threads to eventually descend into petty squabbles and will be taking action to disable the accounts of people who consistently disrupt the forum in this way.(I’ve already started this process by disabling the account of one serial offender). This particular thread is a good example of the recent malaise.
Unacceptable and won’t be allowed to continue – I’ll be PM’ing those who are under review today.
May 16, 2008 at 08:42 #163836Good, sensible point, Drone, imo,
though I don’t see Ginger as any worse than the rest of the playboys on here ( myself included).May 16, 2008 at 08:58 #163843There are half a dozen that could/should have been launched before MP….bowing to pressure from the "elders" IMHO.

Who would they be then ?
bowing to pressure from the "elders" IMHO.

Who are ?
May 16, 2008 at 09:34 #163849bowing to pressure from the "elders" IMHO.

Very unlikely, I would have thought – that would lay contrary to the integrity and incorruptibility of the Forum’s moderators.
Mycenean Princess’s behaviour trajectory seemed similar to me to that of Kwai Chang Caine of recent memory, in that it got increasingly irascible over time, and I suppose the likelihood of them being one and the same cannot be ruled out. I didn’t have any particular wish to see the end of her / him / it, though.

May 16, 2008 at 10:32 #163854Cary Grant’s….ahem….gentleman companion?
May 16, 2008 at 10:37 #163857I thought it was Drone and his swimming chum!
May 16, 2008 at 10:37 #163858I thought Cary liked them with a touch more rigor mortis, Rory?
