As I said earlier, for some reason I got it into my head
that the last day was when Champions Day finished and basically
threw away my last swap on 2 very moderate horses running in the
same race in France as that was all that was running. Neither was
placed and 8 swaps not used. I don’t know how I managed to get in
such a muddle or I would have kept my swap to take all the Godolphin
runners at the Breeders Cup. Were there 10 running? So a bundle of
points just thrown away  At least I had Mawj. Here’s my
    disappointing finish.

    Points 1,090
    Position 401

To be honest I’ve started (if that’s the right word) The Daylight
Cup like a complete muppet. I was so tied up with the Breeders Cup
that I nearly forgot all about thr Cup. I quickly picked 4 and
didn’t even have time to put in reserves as I got in with a minute
to spare to my 1st horse with the 1 hour rule. Nightmare  ,
as is proved to be as only 3 ran and not a point in sight. It serves
me right. My opponent, Isinglass, had 2 2nds at 100/30 and 10/1 so
I’m 16 points down for next Saturday. At least I’m sort of free so I’ll
be into heavy studying on Friday night :mail:

Graham..such a shame that you missed out on the Breeders Cup points it was a whirlwind of a weekend for competitions and my head was spinning to, I was ticking off all the competitions as I entered them and knew I had to spend some time on my Breeders Cup entries because I knew nothing about the American opponents…I was over the moon to win that competition David Cormack has been in touch about my prize and I have chosen Inspiral as she put in an amazing finish with Frankie riding. :yahoo:
Many thanks for running it Graham, it was a bit of a marathon but so exciting.

As far as the Daylight goes 16 points is not a lot to have to be catching up on…you can do it. :good: I only have an 8 point lead over Rob and that’s a dangerous place to be as Rob is renown for picking those big price winners and places.
I too have some studying to do.

Still have to enter a stable in your TTTF league.I’d better get that up and running least I forget..

Best of luck to all of us .. :good

Many thanks Andre.. :good: We had the most amazing two days at Newmarket and with 9 races both days it meant a lot of studying but it all came good for us, especially Louise who couldn’t stop picking winners even on Saturday which turned out the most frustrating day for me with a lot of my horses running 2nd.

Dubai Melody in the first race stood out head and shoulders over the other fillies and looked the likely winner until they hit the uphill finish where she struggled to maintain her lead and went down by 2 1/2 lengths to Love Dynasty…put both fillies in your notebook for 2024 :good:

Thank you for your good wishes on my Breeders Cup 🏆 win, I was amazed and delighted to win that..it means a lot. :rose: and Graham made it all the more enjoyable with his scoring and updates…burnt dinner and all.. :good:

Sorry not to have got back to Meydan Thursdays earlier but apart from the hectic weekend, we now have a house full of Builders modernising our Bathroom in fact completely gutting and replacing it  and to top it all I came home with more than a satchel full of bookies money on Saturday when an insect bite made my leg swell up like a balloon..I took some piriteze Saturday night and it seemed to do the trick but I felt a bit woozy Saturday morning..until I saw the result of the Breeders Cup compy :yahoo: that cheered me up.
Dave reckons it was a Horsefly bite 😅🤣😂

    Sam …
I have been reading about your gardening capers and just have to say how much I admire what you are doing and your energy and enthusiasm.
I thought your conversations with Drone so interesting and when I get more time I will go back and read them again more thoroughly. :good: Thought Drone’s garden looked amazing. Just wonder where you get the time to study your horses Sam…if you don’t win our TRF poster of the year there is no justice in the world. :good:

Now the flat is over I”m hoping to have a bit more time to study jumps form although I’m hopeless at NH in general apart from the top horses but I’ll have a go and keep the sofa handy for hiding behind when they’re running.

Nathan..looks like he may have run away with our Godolphin Fantasy Competition and I will update that Final Leaderboard shortly when the results are confirmed..Brilliant final total Nathan. :good:

    Take care and stay safe.

I was delighted you won the Breeders Cup Competition Jac. To be honest I thought you
might be too far back with Rummy having an amazing 1st round. Well if Rummy had an
amazing 1st round you had a supersonic 2nd round :yahoo: When I counted them up I
was really chuffed that you had got there. It was a great meeting but I discovered
you can’t watch the preamble to thr racing and the race itself at the same time as
marking it up and making comments between races  Anyway, despite running
the compy I did enjoy it, more so on the 2nd night when I realised that marking can
be done later, watch the races and sling in the ocassional comment. If anyone here
hears that I’ve put my hand up next year they have my permission to PM Bobby or
Cormack and say I’ve lost my marbles

I thought this was a good one of Inspiral and Frankie :good:

As I’ve already said, and I’m getting a little concerned about my memory, I nearly
forgot The Daylight Cup. I had to quickly pick out 4 horses, with minimal study, and
I got them in with 1 min to spare with the 1 hour ruling. I didn’t even have time to
put in a reserve and of course one of them, Larry, was a N/R. So I got 0 points, which
I rightly deserved, and I’m playing catchup with Isinglass 16 points ahead. I’ll be
going through them with a fine tooth comb on Friday night.

Finally, as I already mentioned, I made a pig’s ear of the Godolphin Competition
by thinking that it finished on the lasr day on Champions day at Ascot. There was
nothing left to pick ecept 2 horses running in the same race in France. Both carthorses
and neither got into the frame. I wished I had thought it was hardly worth it and then
I would have had a full swap for the Breeders Cup. Six Godolphin horses running, all in
Group/Grade 1 with 2 winners, one 2nd and one 3rd. in total 1,700 Points and 4 spare to
try and pick up a few points elsewhere. Despite all that, and I did have Mawj, I ended up
    as follows

    Points 10,090
    Position 404

Well a quiet week ahead (I hope) and a final challenge for Neil’s competition,
I’ll need the f/c there. Good luck Jac in the Daylight Cup. You’ve got your nose
ahead of Robnorth, but he’s a wily old fox so watch out

You’ve still got it Big G, I’ve joined you in the big priced each way stakes after a long absence, tonight as the Alexander thread really begins to kick in.
College Wizard was an 80/1 shot tonight and thanks to traverse law and free energy kicking in from the same angles was massively boosted into a career best fourth place. Furious typing away posting up the bet meant the 100/1 plus was missed out on. But I’ll take 80/1.
Triptych I’ve scaled back a big bit and those impulsive at the post bets are disappearing now and like I’d said to you and Graham well over a year ago (or maybe more.)More is less. Finally as I put my trust into this marvellous system some amazing results are coming to the fore if I begin to mix it a little with more conventional pointers of form I’ll be approaching the perfect blend of balance. My fathers anniversary is fast approaching and with the efforts to raise awareness of immediate environment issues in my own locality in his memory and in support of my local hospice I’m focusing more and more on what I can do to help others. So uncharacteristic of me to bet in about three races or do today but the area I’ve moved into is a vital one and will impact on people around me now, long after I’ve gone. We are of course here but a tiny spec of time and we get scant chance to make any impact it seems though I was born to make one and had to wait a long time to find out what it was. Now I know I’m getting on with it. It seems to be happening across multiple fronts and I really hope perhaps they are interrelated no matter how many poles apart they may currently seem. Anyone unsure exactly what I’m talking about, might like to visit The Tree 🌲 thread in the lounge.

Thanks Graham.. You made me smile as I can imagine you surrounded by the scores and frantically trying to watch the race..I bet there were a few Scottish swearwords coming out that I’ve never heard of.

Nay matter you can enjoy the Melbourne Cup tomorrow night without having to pick up a pen, just a few wee goldies and a late night rendezvous with Moe ( I won’t tell Marjorie.. 😀)

Looking back I had a superb night and didn’t realise how much ground I had made up..poor old Rummy but that’s how these comps turn around as we all know.

Beautiful picture of Inspiral and Frankie Graham I think I might try and order that from the Racing Post to go with the one I won a terrific memory of a fantastic night’s racing.

Get studying for Saturdays Daylight Graham and lets give our opponents something to think about …I wish you all the luck in the world..Jac :rose:

Thank goodness I set the alarm for 3.55 cause I nodded off! I backed loads of them but had a big bet for me 10 pence ew on Soulcombe because two people on Radio Sport tipped it. Teofilios third Melbourne Cup winner which also scored 15/15 on the OLBG blog but, annoyingly I didn’t back it because it wasn’t my sort of a price. Galileo still hasn’t sired a winner.Need to get some sleep now because I’ve got to take the car for it’s MOT.

Hi Sam.. Many thanks for your lovely comments and anytime you are at HQ just PM me and we will find a place (probably by the pre parade) to meet up and discuss the runners.

So unlucky with College Wizard last night just losing out on 3rd place certainly one to watch out for next time. :good:

I have been reading through your posts on The Tree and you certainly seem to have found your vocation and are helping to make our planet a more sustainable and safer place for future generations and so admire your work together with the local Hospice.✨️🌞

As Graham said on that Thread, along the lines, Gingertipster will never be proven wrong and quite honestly just doesn’t share your vision. He can argue until blue in the face but you must follow your natural born instincts and see out your theory to the end. Never give up or take any notice of those that don’t share your vision, those idiots are too busy chopping down rain forests and destroying all the animals habitats and the plants, some still unknown, that could provide the cure for cancer.🌲🌵🌿🏥🏨

I’m looking forward to seeing your National Hunt choices Sam as I don’t study up the form as I do for the flat and I will be looking out for all the clues I can get

Didn’t realise the Melbourne Cup had already been run until I saw Moe’s post..Vauban very disappointing after all the hype and surprised to see Alenquer down the field too.

Just a quick word on the FINAL DAY OF THE GODOLPHIN COMPETITION as there is a horse declared at Chelmsford tonight..
    Panarea
not many points to be had but could make a difference.

Anyone with Cody’s Wish in their stable has the chance to substitute in a horse running today .. so be quick. :good:
    ************

All Good wishes for your ‘Alexanders’ into the NH Season Sam and just keep on doing what you’re doing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise… you are an amazing person. Jac. :good:

Sam, absolute blinder of an e/w with College Wizzard at a brilliant 80/1. You
just keep going and don’t let anyone grind you down. I think you are fine tuning
things by adding a little conventional form, It’s all about balance as you rightly
say. I love reading about your work on your own behalf and that of others. I don’t
have any doubt you will leave your mark on this ailing planet, it so needs people
like yourself. I have to put in a mention for Drone too, the pair of you are doing
outstanding work. As Churchill was quoted as saying “dont let the buggers grind you
down”. More power to your elbow Sam :good:

I know what it’s like to have builders in Jac, we had a complete makeover in our
bathroom last year. I have to say the guy was brilliant and when he asked if we
objected to him playing heavy metal music as he worked I said “not at all”. I
think our ears took a few days to recover, it’s maybe just as well that I already
    have tinnitus

You’re right about Ginger Jac, he could argue in an empty house, but to be fair,
spats and all, he knows his horses. I maybe was a bit hard on him, he’s not a bad
fellow, I just didn’t like the way he was dismissing Sam’s ideas and that got me
a little hot under the collar. Sam has a vision, whatever anyone may think, and he’ll
get all the support he needs from us :good:

Well done Moe with Soulcombe, that was a very decent e/w at 17/2 :good:
I fancied that Chris Waller would have one that could upset the apple
cart, he had 2 running. I picked Magical Lagoon at 200/1 who ran well
for a long way, up with the top 3 or 4, but he tired after the final
turn and fell back into the pack. Wouldn’t you just know it, his 2nd
horse Sheraz came screaming home for 3rd place at 150/1. I know, I
should have backed them both  Anyway it was a cracking race,
the fav Vauban didn’t really fire at all. Well that’s it for another
year Moe, God willing I’ll be on with you at 4am next year too :good:

We certainly are always here for you Sam keep on doing what you are doing . :good:
Graham I think I remember when you had your bathroom makeover apart from the kitchen it’s the worst room to have to go without for 3 weeks luckily we have a shower room downstairs which is a lifesaver and even luckier our builder listens to his music via his Bluetooth earplugs. 😃

Just about to get the Final positions of the Godolphin competition together as the competition ended today…will announce it all properly tomorrow when I am on my computer as I keep making too many mistakes typing it out on my mobile.

GRAHAM AND JAC thank you for your kind thoughtful comments.

I was delighted to get the 80/1 up last night as my bookie pays out four places. The gingertipster nonsense is negative energy and I think the two of you are well aware of the huge effect negativity has on me. Even though I beat gingertipster all ends up, all of that negative energy drains me totally mentally and although I’ve had a hugely positive day outdoors there was little left for horses at Newcastle. I’ve got so much going on the last thing I need is something to distract me from positivity. I can’t do it.
In the middle of my job I went to the food bank this morning. I love the people there and just talking with them for a few minutes is so uplifting. The biggest currency I carry is Jerusalem Artichokes and they are looking forward to trying them out next week. I took a handful to the coffeehouse who give me all their grounds and took the young lady through the steps of making the perfect artichoke sauce to accompany a fish or any meat dinner. I only just now realised I was meant to meet one of the guys from the bank at his house to collect some of his compost earlier. I clean forgot.
Instead I was back where I was ten days or so ago emptying out compost bins and I got pure rocket fuel leaf mould compost to build another new bed. The last time I was here I picked up a very strong infection which blocked airways and led to a horrid respiratory issue. No such problems today and a face mask was an unused placebo.
It is so frustrating when you have clear indicators of decent runners but cannot act on it is annoying.

It was great to be outdoors today.
So scaling right down I just need to focus a bit more on the next few days (which are going to be very demanding)I’ll be in meydan and the tree only. I’m going to talk to a good friend tell them where I am and go forward from there. I’m so close.

Just a quick note – Jac, I scored another 120 pts today when Quarryman won @ Indiana Grand. My final total is 11,790 and 271st overall.

Oh a bathroom renovation is always hectic, almost as bad as a kitchen remodel!

Hope everyone is doing well. Take Care
