November 8, 2023 at 09:45 #1669750I also had Quarrymen so finish on 11320 (308th). I wonder if thy will run it next year.
November 8, 2023 at 11:44 #1669759Hi all and first of big congrats to Jac for winning the Breeders Cup Comp
And well done Graham for doing the comp, we do know how hard t is to do race to race updates and what I tend to do is do the scores every coupe of races which gives me a chance to watch some of the in between bits too
I was not good in the competition myself but did great punting on Day One but not so good on Day Two but hey how showed a profit over the two days so can’t complain. Tracey won the cakes and showed a profit too so it can’t all be bad .
The reason we didn’t offer to do the comp Graham is we are a bit all over the place at the minute because Tracey’s mum is in hospital in Boston (Lincs) and we are running up and down the A1 and Tracey is getting trains here and there so life is just a blur at the minute but that seems to be the case with everyone nowadays

Otherwise I hope everyone is okay and healthy or as healthy as you can be

Finally I ended up with 7900 pts and 724th place in the Godolphin competition which I am pretty sure will still win me the wooden spoon.
Stay safe and healthy everyone
November 8, 2023 at 13:51 #1669765Many thanks Raymo
As you probably guessed I was over the moon at winning the Breeders Cup Competition, totally unexpected as I got my choices in early as I was off to Newmarket and got home to watch all
the action Saturday night, there was much excitement in our house as they kept coming home. Fantastic weekend.
Just totting up the scores for the Godolphin Competition as sorry for the delay in posting as I have been busy with plans for the Bathroom which is currently being knocked down and have to meet the grandchildren from school in about an hour so hoping to get this done.
Thanks for your scores Raymo and you’ll find out if you’re the proud owner of a wooden spoon very soon.
Jac

So sorry to hear about Tracy’s mum, There’s nothing more worrying than when a family member is unwell and please pass on all good wishes for her to get better soon 🌈..JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 8, 2023 at 14:35 #1669767TRF Godolphin Fantasy League Competition – FINAL RESULT
**************************************************************
11790 Points – ANDRE (Euroalien) – 271st
11740 Points – Nathan Hughes – 276th
11320 Points – Catherine(Tonge) – 308th
10590 Points – Jac (Triptych) – 360th
10090 Points – Graham (BigG) – 406th
8020 Points – John Gooch – 701st
7900 Points – Raymo – 724thth
*****************************
Congratulation from all of us to
EUROALIEN (Andre)
winner of our Godolphin TRF Fantasy League Contest.
Commisserations to Nathan who was breathing down Andre’s neck for the final furlong but just went down in a head bobbing finish with 11740 points to Andre’s 11790. Well played to both players.
Many thanks to all for taking part in a rather frustrating Competition this year with a severe lack of Bonus Races not helping those struggling to pick up points to catch the leaders.
Godolphin missed a great opportunity to stage a Bonus Race on the final night of Breeders Cup when Master Of The Seas and Mawj where taking on each other and I’m certain it could have provided an even more exciting climax to our TRF competition if it had taken place. With 1700 points up for grabs on the Saturday Breeders Cup night many of us forged ahead with points and just have to say how unlucky Graham (Big G) was for thinking that the Competition ended on Champions Day at Ascot and using all his swaps. We have all had our heads in the clouds lately Graham and that could have happened to any one of us.
Let’s hope we can come back and do it all again in 2024.Finally Andre really well done accruing all those points and keeping your eye on the International runners also, as did Cathering (Tonge), and to John and Raymo (winner of the Wooden Spoon
)thanks for taking part and hopefully next year we can come back and do it all again.
Andre please PM me with your address and I will get your prize organised. It was to be a Gift Card for Hillside Animal Charity but as I don’t think they deliver to America I would like to send you £25.00 to donate to any charity of your choice…and well done…Jac

Many thanks to all for taking part and if anyone sees Ben just give him a little reminder that he’s on the missing list and his points haven’t been included on our scoreboard….
Hope all is well with him. Jac

Best wishes to you all.

Bama lama
Win
We’ve got free energy and traverse law kicking in here and the top weight carries a penalty and the cola kid dropping down in treat and turned out quickly could run well here again under same jockey. But liberty bay unseated last time which means this horse which hasn’t won in ages may have more of a shout having run light last time cans us well in to take advantage of the situation if refinding lost form in the book.November 9, 2023 at 11:09 #1669813Congratulations to Andre winning the Godolphin Competition, it was tough
this year and as Jac said we could have done with s few Bonus Races. Your
record in winning competitions is nothing short of brilliant, well done
mate
Nathan, you kept it tight and it could have gone either way with yourself
and Andre, nothing in it at the end so well done on that
Jac, many thanks for running this again, I know how frustrating it must
have been for you with Godolphin running a shabby ship. You kept it
going and great credit to you for that. Hope they get themselves sorted
out for next year and we can have another go. Thanks again
Raymo, no need to apologise for not doing the Breeders Cup, you and Tracy
do a power of work in the competitions, it’s us that should be thanking
you. It is a tough one to do but I got the hang of it by the 2nd day.
Happy to step in anytime and I’m sorry to hear that Tracey’s mum isn’t
keeping too well. I hope she picks up a bit and gets back out of hospital,
they are depressing places to be in. All the best to her and yourselves
November 9, 2023 at 11:17 #1669815Sam that was agonising with Page Three. I thought she was going to hold
on but just got caught and narrowly beaten by a neck. She was a decent price
too at 13/2. So near mate.November 9, 2023 at 13:22 #1669823I was very fortunate to win the Godolphin comp!
That swap on the last day, bringing in Quarryman for the retired Cody’s Wish, really paid off and made all the difference. Sorry Nathan, pipping you on the post like that. It couldn’t have been closer at the finish.Huge thanks to Jac
for keeping this comp going and for keeping us all interested in what seemed like a difficult year for Godolphin. Their running of this comp is mediocre at best – they could do a lot more with it.Oh gosh – I don’t need a prize Jac – it’s all about the friendly competition between the friends on this thread.
Raymo – I hope Tracy’s mum is doing alright. Sending lots of good thoughts and best wishes across the Atlantic.
Take Care Everyone
November 9, 2023 at 14:36 #1669826Well done again Andre 👏 👏 you certainly kept your eye on the ball until the end and your Quarryman sub sealed it for you.

As you and Graham said it’s been quite hard keeping up the enthusiasm for this competition as Godolphin are not really playing the game with their promise of Bonus Races..I just think they can’t be bothered and let ‘those in the know’ speed ahead of the rest of us. I mean your final score was a cracking 11790 points and you Nathan and Catherine should all have been in the top 100 with those scores but the Godolphin official winner scored over 18000 points
how on earth did he managed to rake up such a score unless he was on every Group 1 race run in the entire competition.
Cunning Plan:….
I suggest we employ stalking tactics in the next competition.. note down the top 10 and follow their choices..
See you in Dubai..lol😅🤣😂Andre it was such a nice thing you said about not needing a prize but if you don’t mind I am going to donate £25 to Hillside Animal Charity towards Winter Hay for the horses🐴…they will love you for it..
and thank you.
This Thread really is making a difference.❤️Raymo..Hope that Tracy’s mum is getting on OK, as Graham says Hospital can be a depressing place but I’m sure family visits are perking her up and that is what really matters and keeping positive throughout.

Sam…Almost but not quite with Page Three yesterday. Best of luck with your horses today and over the weekend.

Thank you to everyone for their kind words and let’s hope we can all get together again for the Dubai World Cup competition in January 2024..fingers crossed it happens. I think it is my favourite of the two competitions as you are just focusing on Meydan.
Off to put up Saturdays Select 3 Horses now..see you there.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 9, 2023 at 14:58 #1669831I was quite pleased at the lack of bonus races as I never get them right
First time in about 5 years I haven’t finished last so taking it as a minor victory
Sending Mrs Raymo’s mum all the best wishes in getting well soon…Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 9, 2023 at 15:21 #1669833Well done Nathan

Have just donated 2 x Bales of Hay and a big Bale of Straw to the animals at Hillside.
Thank you Andre, I know you didn’t want any prize but certain that you won’t mind the animals having it and keeping warm this winter.. Big thank you.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 9, 2023 at 20:20 #1669856Well done guys!!
A great day personally and no time whatsoever for racing.
Just time to check out the lucky last and I’ve come up with Chelmsford 8:30
Crimson sand
Win
Very unlucky but consistent but found one two good 8 out of ten times. If breaking well has a great chance but this is so competitive tonight.
The sand comes out of stall one and a good break would be enough such is the draw here but traverse law allows for that and brings stall 9 into thisSONG FOR WHOEVER
Each way
Finally
BLIND BEGGAR
Each way
From stall six from a world in world class form given the breeders cup and two great runs in a row from baldermo
There are two other runners with great chances Almaty star and skalkywag bat and it’d be a suprise if the first three and therefore the tricast doesn’t originate with these five runnersNovember 9, 2023 at 20:26 #1669857That works perfectly Jac – Thank You for doing that

I couldn’t agree more Nathan, the lack of bonus races certainly worked in my favor, as I rarely score points in those “events”.
Good Luck in the last at Chelmsford Sam!
Take Care Everyone
November 9, 2023 at 20:46 #1669860Thanks Andre and a good outcome with crimson sand running well.
Four of the first five home listed above and I’m glad I got the winner rather than going for a tricast.
Blind beggars form over this trip and supreme yard form ultimately the compelling factor and he won with plenty up his sleeve and twice this year I’ve been able to avail myself of Blind beggar.
A poignant but fulfilling day in so many ways. Things slowly coming together. - AuthorPosts
