Can’t she be a bit awkward to load? The occasion might get to her.
November 3, 2014 at 19:30 #494429Absolutely Mo but 40/1 sort of makes up for that.

November 3, 2014 at 19:48 #494435Just checked out what her name means. So perhaps she’s not difficult but often can’t decide whether she want so to go in the stalls or not; girl after my own heart, really.
November 3, 2014 at 21:05 #494441Cavalryman has been scratched
November 3, 2014 at 23:28 #49445629 degrees in Melbourne with just the chance of a shower, but Melb can have 4 seasons in one day. Over here if a horse has the same name they put My or Our in front sometimes the original hasn’t raced for yonks so a bit annoying. Just worried that Ambivalent wasn’t right for the Caufield Cup and had to be scratched.I left Fawkner out but he is a class horse who could go close.I don’t like the internationals not having had a prep run here.I may be wrong but Mutual Regard to me looked like a dour win, didn’t have that bit of zip, but as i said he could prove me wrong.

Nathan in race 5 i like the top weight Law, only about 5 to 7-1 but think he will go close. In race 8 horse 8 Vilanova ew at around 10 to 12-1. A hard day big fields.Just checked it out big money for Law a bit skinny at 5-2, 3-1, but think with no bad luck he looks to have better form than the others.
November 4, 2014 at 04:14 #494461well done to the two old boys – Red Cadeaux and Gerald (who took out the HK jockey challenge on Sunday).
always placing here – very much their time of year.
November 4, 2014 at 04:36 #494462The rise and rise of the German bred horse. Not sure why the Murtagh horses weren’t dropped out more but I guess it proves how important it is to have a prep run, if only to get the fizz out of them; yet again the winner is in a 5-14 stall. Sounds like quite a ride by Ryan Moore. At least I’ll get my money back on Cavalryman
November 4, 2014 at 04:52 #494465sadly, Admire Rakti died in his stall after fading to last.

November 4, 2014 at 05:17 #494467Well Protectionist looks like the winner to me drawn nicely 11 of 24 and i am tipping that the ‘butcher of Flemington’ Ryan Moore will get it right this time and win the cup.Moore has had 2 rides in the cup and he certainly wouldn’t want to view the races again…Like Frankie, rode well over there but got lost here. Roger Varian must have plenty of Group 1 wins as he threw away one today putting Andrea Atzeni on Faaraaj ,was a certainty beaten, a massive run in the million $ Mckinnon stks. The horse drew badly in 15 but Atzeni had a brain eexplosion sitting 3 deep outside the leaders on the pace the whole trip of 2000 mtrs. IF you are caught 3 deep you try and cuddle them off the pace a first year apprentice would do what Atzeni did today. He was the talk of the town and not in a good way….I think old Red Cadeaux could be the blow out horse at 20-1 he is an old marvel and loves Flemington.Hardest to beat Admire Rakti as the Japanese have much superior stayers to the rest of the world but 58.5 kg hasn’t been carried to win a Cup for 39 years. The Sydney mare Lucia Valentina ran a bottler in the Caufield Cup and a big danger. Finally i hope Ryan Moore can show his class and win it, he is a world class rider but has 2 shockers out of 2 in the cup, a 10 to 12 draw is about perfect in the Cup and Protectionist has drawn 11, so Moore gets his chance to win it.
Well tipped up there with the 1-2, terrific stuff.
I wouldn’t have backed Red Cadeaux if he had been 50/1, based on modest form from himself this year and his trainer’s very quiet season overall, yet he has run a cracker again without landing the big one. A credit to his trainer.
The winner has hosed in there and struck a big blow for German horses. Ryan Moore looks like he’s learned from his previous outings and it obviously helps that he was on a horse with plenty to give.
My abysmal record in the race continues and Vintage Crop seems a distant glory for me. I felt Fawkner ended up very short odds for a horse with a stamina question and the same concern was even more of a worry with My Ambivalent, even if there was a chance on breeding, because it was a fair old step up the distance ladder for her today.
Shame about the favourite and it put a dampener on proceedings but well done to anyone who picked out the good winner, who was priced up at 25/1 on the out of date odds list I saw on ATR’s website yesterday!!
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
November 4, 2014 at 07:04 #494471You Thanks Steve things went my way, sorry Nathan for the shitty tips.Very sad to hear Admire Rakti died, a real downer, good day i got our trifecta for 145% and first 4 for 48% so a $100 outlay returned $10 646, very happy and wife won best dressed woman and i won best dressed man…..But i was hot……Anyway Ryan Moore you legend i coaxed it out of you, the best ride in the race, now Australia knows he is world class and yes in the bestriders in the world.Poor Admire Rakti, a real sad part to the day i was on him in the Caulfield Cup

I had gone to bed by the time you had put them up Jolly. Managed to get Precious Gem at 6/1 along with 2 losers so not too bad.
Well done on the big one.
