I think that Thomas Patrick has a huge chance here, there’s lots in his favour, and I took 8-1 win. My main fancy though is Rathvinden. The nrnb concession with Ladbrokes made a big difference and I bet him 16-1.
November 29, 2018 at 10:11 #1387357Thank goodness for nrnb, as Rathvinden isn’t going.
I’ve always liked Go Conquer, so I’ll probably bet him each way once more places are offered.
November 29, 2018 at 10:41 #1387359Only 14 going. Very disappointing. I wonder why these big handicaps keep producing such underwhelming numbers?
November 29, 2018 at 11:14 #1387360Thank you Kev, much appreciated mate.
14 declared!…14 Peter!! I was out on the razzle dazzle last night, so I’ve only just seen the decs.
Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaa.
I’d say it could not have worked out any better for us so far VTC. Roll on Saturday now.
November 29, 2018 at 11:32 #1387362Up for Review doesn’t go and I was wrong about Mullins- he’s only sent one. I probably won’t bet now but should be a good race to watch. Good luck with Dingo Dollar chaps
November 29, 2018 at 12:10 #1387364Well that is a surprise!! Only fourteen runners

I have had a small interest each way on two at big prices
SIZING TENNESSEE 25/1
GO CONQUER 50/1Both four places e/w
To be honest I could bet about six in this and still not get the winner. It is very open and IMO not as good as race class wise as previous years so maybe it won’t take as much winning.
November 29, 2018 at 12:13 #1387365Poor renewal and poor numbers. Still decent for a Grade 3 but not the Hennessy levels of old.
Mullins is very reluctant in sending out his second season chasers and such, has some amount of backlog to run by the looks of it.
November 29, 2018 at 12:30 #1387368All these things that you are all saying, I so agree, poor renewal, won’t take as much winning. No where near the race it normally is.
For these reasons, I’m currently dancing around the front room, seriously. ‘Can’t stop the feeling’ booming out on the sound system, the neighbours must be wondering what’s going down.
I might go and tell them later, the Hennessy on Saturday only has 14 runners, and looks a crap race compared to usual. I have a lot of money on a horse in the race at 25-1 (they are a solicitors and will not understand). But they will understand when I tell them that the screaming that sometimes happens on a Saturday, well it’s probably going to be quite bad this week. Best they go out for the day. I get on super well with them, they once told me they had very posh friends over one Saturday. I must of won a lot of money that day, as apparently, their posh friends heard words they had never heard before. But apparently I sounded really happy.
November 29, 2018 at 12:34 #1387369When you put it like that it doesn’t sound like horse racing screams coming from your house on a Saturday afternoon Nausered

Oh they know alright. I have a very expensive Bose sound system, rigged up too a fantastic TV, which is all linked up too an eye retina Mac. I work from home, so there’s music playing all day during work hours. On a Saturday, when I have a lot of money on a horse, I’m sure the whole road hears the race. It gets turned right up to mask my screams (these might contain obscenities)

I get on really well with all of my neighbours luckily. The solicitors have two young sons, very very posh, but they like a party with their pals sometimes when mummy and daddy go away. Trouble is, my sound system, is far far superior to theirs.
November 29, 2018 at 12:46 #1387371Good to know the fun doesn’t stop in your house Naus

My neighbour knows when I have backed a good winner too!! LOL
November 29, 2018 at 13:17 #1387373Too soon to say it’s a poor renewal. Invariably only four or five ever run to form in these races anyway and – despite the number taking part being only 14 – all at the front of the market have been declared and plenty of unexposed types who could improve 10+ lbs/in to top staying chasers.
Obviously am happy with my 10/1 Thomas Patrick; although not ideal all bar one or two can be described as best/usually racing at or near the front!
There could well be an overly strong pace favouring horses held up/dropped out.Value Is EverythingNovember 29, 2018 at 13:32 #1387374Good for you too Raymo, life is for living mate! If we can’t enjoy ‘happy’ moments in life, we all might as well just die now. That’s my theory anyway, and I stick to it. There’s enough rubbish moments…
November 29, 2018 at 13:44 #1387377Would love to see Ms Parfois win this. Deserves a big race after what happened at Cheltenham in March. 5/1 seems short enough for me though.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!November 29, 2018 at 15:30 #1387386That’s a real shame about Kemboy, he was a strong fancy here.
I’ll side with Sizing Tennessee then at 16-1 for the win. I thought that he was very encouraging behind Rathvinden in March.
November 29, 2018 at 15:42 #1387388The Young Master 20’s and 16’s
American 16’s
Black Corton 20’sThat’ll be me unless there’s a little inflation on the morning of. It’s a little shameful to have three horses in a thirteen runner race, but hey ho.
The Young Master looks thrown in here. Everything in his favour. Can’t see him not having a shout.
