There are well over a dozen that catch the eye, but Otago Trail was the one that jumped off the page at me. Was looking like a classy sort a few seasons ago, but has been off since.
It’s a cracking set of entries. Also a quick note for Don Poli who has plot job written all over him. If not for this then certainly for the National.

Too many to mention who i like!
November 7, 2018 at 13:37 #1379925I’m wondering if Javert (out for over two years before winning off 140 at Uttoxeter in September before following up with a close second to Frodon in the Old Roan a couple of weeks ago) is a little under the radar here.
Not many miles on the clock for a nine-year-old.
That said, I’m very keen to see if Thomas Patrick and Ms Parfois take to this.
Still haven’t got over how Whisper was done by Total Recall in this last year – was my biggest bet of the season that.
November 7, 2018 at 15:59 #1379934Peter and Quelle, totally agree, smashing chance been given to Ms Parfois.
Just above her in the weights is Pairofbrowneyes, and I’d be happy to have a third string here, and he’s close to being bet at 25’s.
Dingo out tomorrow, so seriously considering a top up on him.
November 10, 2018 at 16:18 #1380231Well I’ve kept chipping away, whilst Dingo Dollar was still 25-1. Last time I posted on this thread I had approximately £200 running on to him at 25-1, via extra £5 win doubles added too my main bets, all to win. I now have just over £600 on him at 25-1 to win via those doubles. I’m going to pull up sticks now I think.
£15k will do very nicely indeed. I’ll be praying now that he makes it to the race okay Bobby
November 10, 2018 at 17:11 #1380246So will I mate, though I’m only waiting on him for 14k lol
November 10, 2018 at 18:05 #1380253One For Arthur is a very interesting entry imo. After his National win, trainer said everything would be geared toward the follow up. I wonder if she considers him well handicapped here and hopes to top and tail the season with a Hennessy and another National. Worth remembering he was seriously on the up last time he was seen.
November 11, 2018 at 14:36 #1380296That was brutal from Terrefort today, be amazed if he runs here now.
November 11, 2018 at 15:19 #1380309Thomas Patrick quite impressed me there. On a flat track like Newbury he wins that. And he will escape a penalty for not winning. Needs cut but a definite player if it is.
By the way trainer of Ms Parfois would love to win the Welsh National with her. So may take in the Betfair Chase as a prep in order to escape a rise in the weights. Just a warning to antepost wagers.
November 12, 2018 at 16:17 #138038010/1 Thomas is disappearing fast.
Value Is EverythingNovember 12, 2018 at 18:48 #1380394I understand connections were talking about working back from the National and maybe looking at the Beecher Chase as the next target but surely Present Man off 10st 5lbs should be heading to Newbury instead?
I know he didn’t cut much ice last year off 10st 2lbs but that was his 3rd run of that season and a horse that does particularly well on flat tracks who jumps and gallops like he does is worth another shot (Bet365/Ladbrokes/Betfair & Paddy Power don’t quote him at all but elsewhere his odds range from 20s to 50s).
November 21, 2018 at 01:47 #1381186Looks like invitation only and up for review won’t run as the ground looks to be to quick. Have cashed out in both. Need to look at this race again. Fancy label des obeaux at 33s at the mo. Alan king in excellent form and he has slides down to a workable mark
November 21, 2018 at 08:45 #1381192The one i will be looking to take on near the head of the market is Kemboy. No matter what way the weights are done to make them more condensed, he has a hell of a task on hand. Whilst he has got a 4Ib pen for his Clonmel Oil win he is really only going up 1pd.. However, to me he’s a horse that is keen and likes to race near the pace. He can throw in a bad jump or two, and they will be found out in a race like this. He has undoubted class, so much so, i wouldn’t rule him out of winning a Ryanair, but 3m2 wouldn’t be my idea of what he needs right now.
Currently don’t have a selection as not 100% what way the ground will turn up. A couple that catch my eye early on are: Dingo Dollar + Pairofbrowneyes.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!November 21, 2018 at 09:43 #1386530Black Corton off 157 appeals to me, especially at 25/1 and half decent ground likely. Have had some of that each way.
Made a blunder in the Charlie Hall and still got within two lengths of 164 rated Definitly Red.
Nicholls is probably the best target trainer in the game, and he’ll have this boy primed to run for his life.Terrefort interestingly, is still being targeted at the race after pulling some muscles, but i’ve written that money off TBH. Especially given both prep & lack of rain.
November 21, 2018 at 17:51 #1386601Similar thoughts from me Kev, still got Terrefort, but more or less written it off, and if starting again I would 100% be with Black Corton. 25’s is an excellent price.
For now though, happy with Dingo Dollar and Pairofbrowneyes, though one of those races where I’d be happy with three, so if Terrefort was confirmed absent, I’d look at Corton if the price held.

Sorry mate, accidentally deleted your Dingo comment on Betfair Chase thread. Yeah, nice bit of blue, very encouraging.Kev, added Black Corton myself now, 25’s just too big.
Happy to have this trio on side.
Black Corton
Dingo Dollar
Pairofbrowneyes
