December 21, 2020 at 12:45 #1514852So Henderson been saying that the track don’t suit, and now supplements him.
December 21, 2020 at 12:49 #1514853Santini has a free week as he was originally booked to carry Champ over to Ireland so taking in this for fitness instead.
Can’t see him winning at this track but if he does…

“When you are in lockdown Tier 4, you haven’t got a lot to do on a Sunday afternoon and I had a bright idea about what to do with Santini. The Cotswold Chase is still five or six weeks away, so we supplemented him this morning for the King George party. We discussed it last night. We’ve been through everything this morning, and he’s so well in himself and passed all his medical checks.
We didn’t put him in originally because I’m the first to admit we don’t think Kempton will be his ideal track – but he’s very well in himself, and there’s nothing else to do. He may as well gallop round Kempton rather than gallop around here for five weeks.”
December 21, 2020 at 16:44 #1514876Henderson just keeps on getting better.
After bleating that there is barely a track in the country that suits Santini, he decides to run him on the least suitable track of them all.
I wonder if this is a hint that Champ – schooling brilliantly and on course for Leopardstown until all of a sudden he was not ready – is going to run in the Cotswold.
And apparently Kempton soft does not worry the master trainer for Altior because it is different from Sandown soft. Is that a slight concession the ground was not heavy at Sandown on Tingle Creek day? Timeform said it was good to soft.
December 21, 2020 at 16:56 #1514878Could be the case regard Champ..
Henderson will do what he likes regard Altior, he said in a roundabout way he doesn’t care one jot about the punters and getting the horse to Cheltenham in one piece, fit and well is his priority. If he has any inkling of a concern he’ll pull the plug on Kempton too.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 22, 2020 at 10:19 #1514927Saint Calvados has also caught my attention DBRDBR. I am wondering if it’s a case of me looking too hard to oppose the big two, which it may be, although the form with Min looks strong and his form first time up reads 1111.
December 22, 2020 at 14:19 #1514952Monalee the obvious non-runner.
December 22, 2020 at 21:00 #1514987Got to say I’m suprised Santini is going to run here , is lack of pace is going to badly highlighted

December 22, 2020 at 21:33 #1514990If they did another lap of the track he’d have a chance
December 22, 2020 at 21:56 #1514992I don’t think Henderson is too bothered where he finishes
a grade 1 fitness exercise, all roads lead to Cheltenham blah, blah, blahGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 23, 2020 at 05:58 #1515007Nathan I think he would be , it’s a strange decision , he,d be better running champ here and santini in Ireland ….champ wouldn’t win either but he would prob finish nearer
