September 4, 2021 at 23:50 #1559145Welcome back Joni
What are your thoughts on Snow Lantern’s chances tomorrow against Baeed?
Hannon has certainly taken a strange route for her putting her up against the colts and giving her a baptism of fire this year.
The vibes for her are very good according to Sean Levey and he has certainly gone the extra mile to be with this filly 24/7 whilst training he deserves this win as does Snow Lantern herself.
So I’ll be having a reasonable bet with some of my Falmouth winnings for her to come flying home in France tomorrow afternoon.
Best of luck..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 5, 2021 at 10:31 #1559162I’m with you Jac. This horse needs a fast run mile on a galloping track and that is what she should get today. Novemba is likely to try and pinch it from the front and that should suit SL who can pick them up and show us all what she is really made of. Obviously the fav could be a superstar but he still has plenty to prove at the top level and is no price. So it’s Snow Lantern for me!
£100 win Snow Lantern – 5-1 – Prix Moulin
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 5, 2021 at 18:09 #1559241Oh dear it wasn’t to be for SL.
You were right about Novemba belting off in front and Snow Lantern just never had the chance to quicken she was the first beaten..oh if only she had been trained by Henry Cecil she would never have taken this path through her 3yo career it has been a disaster.
However she remains a very desirable broodmare and I wouldn’t be surprised if she retires at the end of the season. Hopefully with the Sun Chariot under her belt.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 9, 2021 at 20:00 #1559709In the end it didn’t matter that Novemba set a decent clip as they all ignored her. Sean needed to sit in behind rather than 6 lengths back. Saying that, she ran very flat and, you are right, they’ve made a complete pigs ear of her career. Richard junior still strikes me as naive..
A huge weekend of racing ahead but one bet for tomorrow.
£50ew Find – 9-1 – Doncaster 1.40
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 12, 2021 at 14:03 #1560252Not managing to find many winners right now but the good news is I’ve moved in to the Top 10 in the Tote Ten To Follow competition – https://tote.co.uk/ten-to-follow/play/leaderboard/overview – I doubt I’ll win it but I could finish top 5 if results go my way..
A great win for Hurricane Lane yesterday cementing Frankel’s place at the top of the Champion sire leaderboard and wasn’t that Irish Champion a great race? St Mark’s is some horse..
A couple for today:
£50 win Love – 5-4 – 2.20 Curragh
£50 win Homeless Songs – 2-1 – Curragh 3.30
£50 win double"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 15, 2021 at 12:19 #1560558£50 win Sir Busker – 3-1 – Sandown 3.30
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 17, 2021 at 11:09 #1560740I’m off to Newbury for my first live racing in 2 years! Can’t wait. Just the one bet for now but possibly more later:
£50 win Al Suhail – 4-1 – Newbury 3.30
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 23, 2021 at 20:33 #1561305After a great day at Newbury last week I’m lucky enough to be working in Newmarket tomorrow morning so will be there for a few races in the afternoon. A few bets lined up:
£25ew Soft Whisper – 9-1 – Newmarket 1.50
£25ew Sayyida – 6-1 – Newmarket 2.25
£50 win Majestic Glory – 5-2 – Newmarket 3.00
£50 win Benbatl – 11-4 – Newmarket 3.35
£2 win lucky 15"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 23, 2021 at 23:55 #1561316Well done for getting into the TTTF top 10 Joni that is one tricky contest and you have a great team. Interesting to see that Snow Lantern is beating Snowfall on points and sad to see Santa Barbara in your stable what a dreadfully sad loss for Coolmore, she did you proud ⚘
Have a great time at Newmarket tomorrow Joni, so sorry we can’t meet up as I am only going Saturday due to having to get a forgotten MOT for my car. Try and stand behind Ed Chamberlin and give us a wave and good luck with your horses..I am torn between Benbatl and Master Of The Seas two Godolphin giants taking each other on it should be very exciting.
I backed Modern Games (got 9/2) today as Charlie Appleby had previously said he was beating everything at home. Nothing could get near him on the Rowley Mile he was so impressive.I’m really looking forward to being there on Saturday and have been doing my homework on the unexposed 2yo races, I think we might see a future champ emerge in the Cheveley Park in the shape of Juddmonte’s Sacred Bridge.

Best of luck Joni it’s been the trickiest year to find winners but you’ve scraped a few good bets together and hope you win the Tote Ten To Follow. Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 24, 2021 at 22:48 #1561410Well done with Soft Whisper and Benbatl Joni..
Don’t know what happened to Majestic Glory ..just didn’t want to run today.Hope you enjoyed your time at Newmarket.
Looking forward to being there tomorrow and hoping for a few winners.
I’ve done the homework now I need the Gold Star.
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 25, 2021 at 08:56 #1561440I had a wonderful time thanks Jac! So sorry not to be able to see you. Hope you have a great day today and that Sacred Bridge can do the business for you.
I was really impressed with Soft Whisper and she’ll definitely be one for you and your Meydan crew to follow this winter! Majestic Glory missed the break and then didn’t seem to handle the dip. She never really travelled and I think/hope we can chalk that one off. Benbatl was an absolute star as he always is but Master Of The Seas will improve a lot for the run and was probably a bit unlucky to be squeezed out by the winner coming out of the dip. He’ll still be a player in the QEII I reckon. All in all it was just amazing to be back at my favourite place in the world. Just before the Joel Stakes I got chatting to this couple by the pre-parade ring and told them my dream was to retire to Newmarket and buy a little house near the gallops. They told me that’s EXACTLY what they did a few years ago and they have never been happier. Watch this space….
My youngest has a birthday party this afternoon so will have to watch the racing on catch up tonight but just having a couple of bets on the Cambridgeshire. Even though Frankie has chosen the other one, I still like Uncle Bryn on this quick ground. And I’m giving one more chance to Fantastic Fox. It’s that maiden run behind Snow Lantern and Derab that I can’t get out of my head. Unless that was a complete fluke then he’s a 110 horse at least. It’s just he’s a big baby and doesn’t settle off slow gallops in small fields. He’ll get pace today and I reckon Andrea will cover him up and get him to settle. If he does, he could run a big race..
£25ew Uncle Bryn – 9-1 – Newmarket 3.40
£25ew Fantastic Fox – 20-1 – Newmarket 3.40"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 28, 2021 at 14:15 #1561742So glad you enjoyed your day at your 2nd home Joni and couldn’t agree with you more about retiring to Newmarket later in life. I have several properties on my list within 10 miles of the course that I look at every time I travel up there but to get one overlooking the gallops you better have a quiet word in Sheikh Mo’s ear..

Sacred Bridge was so disappointing in the Cheveley Park, she looked lovely in the paddock (no negatives) and going to post, she just didn’t handle the course and Tenebrism was the superstar we had amazingly overlooked.
I did manage to win the ‘lucky last’ with Jumby so the bookies didn’t get all my money.
Looking forward to the Sun Chariot on Saturday and praying we don’t get too much rain which will mean non runners.
I’m going for the two grey fillies to fill 1st and 2nd and feel that Godolphin’s Althiqa has an outstanding chance in this she has been backed down from 14’s to 6/1.
My heart desperately wants Snow Lantern to win but somehow the shine has gone off a little thanks to her erratic passage through the season. I will still be backing her but waiting for the day to do so. Would love nothing better than for her to win this.
Best of luck Joni and look forward to your weekend bets, especially the Arc where Adayar, Hurricane Lane, Love and Snowfall are due to turn out. What a race that will be.
Can’t believe the Season will soon be over but already looking forward to The Craven.
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 2, 2021 at 08:46 #1562005Hi Jac – sounds like we’ll be neighbours!! How cool!
Yes it doesn’t get any better than this weekend does it? Quality racing on both sides of the channel and so many exciting horses to look forward to. I’ll be hoping the rain has stayed away for Strad over in Paris and that he will run and win. I’ll wait to hear on that. In the meantime I’ve a couple of bets for today including Snow Lantern who (surely!) must get the race run to suit today..
£25ew Swoon – 11-2 (4 places) Newmarket 1.45
£100 win Snow Lantern – 3-1 – Newmarket 2.55
£50 win Glen Shiel – 10-3 – Ascot 3.15
£5 win patent"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
October 2, 2021 at 22:37 #1562144Oh well Joni not sure what to say about that run today from Snow Lantern. Very disappointed that she dropped away tamely, hope she is alright.
I expect she will go to stud nown having done all she possibly can for Hannon.
Tomorrow hoping Glass Slippers will win the Abbaye and Adayer/Hurricane Lane in the Arc but had to take the 33/1 on Alenquer he stands an outsiders EW chance on past form.

Like yourself no winners for me today, just got very very wet and blown around the Rowley Mile..but will be back next week for some more with hopefully better weather.
