There will be pause in this thread from October 9th to 12th as we are off a Kelso Racecourse organised trip to Pardubice for the Velka Pardubicka 2026. Only 10 runners this year which is a tad disapppointing buyt I presume Cazechia has suffered as much as the UK from shortage of rainfall, and I’m not sure that Pardubice will have a watering system.

I’ve been learning a bit of Czech on Duolingo, soem useful stuff but I’m not sure the Czech equivalent of ‘Are they snakes or carrots?’ is likely to be of much use. For Monty Python fans I’m tempted to type ‘My hovercraft is full of eels’ into a translator!

Just the one Class 3 race at Worcester and ratings headed by a horse that hasn’t run for 587 days and makes its chase debut. That said it’s an interesting debutant from a capable stable. Remainder very evenly matched on available data.

I’m so envious. Have always wanted to go to the Pardubicka. Have you got John Pinfolds book about it. We used to speak to him at the Midlands Racing Club meetings; he’s quite the expert on that and the National. By the way, do you know a Kelso member who’s called China? We met him at the Etal show and then bumped into him at the track.I’ll be checking out Darren’s preview of the race; he used to post on here as Anglo German and is now on facebook.I need to get a link to the race…

Without checking I would venture that Final Orders is the first horse to have had a Pardubice prep race at Bellewstown!

Away to Czechia on Friday morning but will endeavour to get Saturday ratings up here tomorrow evening. Could be a task as this weekend normally has a stack of handicaps.
