Hang on. Chezza doesn’t watch the racing with the sound on? This is new news isn’t it?
Did that Paddy Power advert really imply that a jockey was having a bet there? Unbelievable.
March 14, 2023 at 13:20 #1639062Chezza might have mentioned it previously, tbf, Chezza doesn’t actually recall.
Talking of Paddy Power adverts, Chezza must have seen the one with Matt Chapman, a rather attractive young lady – who ends up getting a piggyback off Chapman? – and former football player Peter Crouch on mute many times.
Chezza has occasionally wondered what it must all be about – it seems like a rather disturbing surreal dream, possibly brought on by a surfeit of late-night hob nobs – but Chezza always felt it safest to leave it muted.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 14, 2023 at 16:37 #1639185Today’s coverage was ok, at least Ed didn’t bother trying to make El Fab vs Jonbon an Ire v Britain thing as nobody actually cares, hopefully he’ll shelve this angle
“I think Edwardstone will indeed land the Champion Chase. He’s one of my bets of the week and I’m going to bill it on ITV as David versus Goliath.” tomorrow as an Arkle and Tingle Creek winner vs a LTO uninspiring 3rd can hardly be billed as David vs Goliath.March 14, 2023 at 16:42 #1639189A small ownership team v the owner of a Premier League football club could be, though.
March 14, 2023 at 17:01 #1639195Ah I see, forgot about Energumene’s owner owning a football club etc.
March 14, 2023 at 17:06 #1639201I remember a time one could watch all Cheltenham races on TV … not any more. Up yours ITV! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
March 14, 2023 at 18:07 #1639242Amusing on RTV to see someone sweeping up while Nick Luck and Co sum up the day, oblivious to their conversation and the fact she was on television.
March 14, 2023 at 18:30 #1639247Caught some of the ITV coverage and quite liked the stuff with Ruby.
Definitely not a fan of the camera angles during the race though. The aerial shots are useless for race reading, the mobile camera is nauseating and the way they switched angles before, during and after the fences was infuriating.
If they are trying to make it dramatic for casuals, maybe I get it. But as someone who is into the substance of what is happening, I found the live production to be farcical.
March 14, 2023 at 18:44 #1639252Enjoyed the ITV coverage today. Seemed to ‘hit’ the right note imho.
How ‘fresh’ it still is, compared to the dull days of Luck & co on Channel4.March 15, 2023 at 07:39 #1639355I knew I’d see myself if I wore a bright yellow cap…😂

March 15, 2023 at 10:33 #1639395Did you go on your own?
March 15, 2023 at 10:48 #1639397Good spot Nathan. I thought that was Roy Keane…
“Did that Paddy Power advert really imply that a jockey was having a bet there? Unbelievable”.
Isn’t it? They changed it for a while, replacing the jockey with Chapman, which, of course, meant that the “he may be short” joke (using the word in its loosest possible sense) made no sense. Why they didn’t just pull it is beyond me. Wasn’t funny first time and certainly isn’t improving with 100 odd viewings, aside from the ethical considerations.
“Hang on. Chezza doesn’t watch the racing with the sound on? This is new news isn’t it?”
I can’t believe he hasn’t mentioned this…..March 15, 2023 at 11:09 #1639400“Did you go on your own?”
Absolutely.. Chezza was unavailable
I did bump into Cormack for a brief catch up and managed to avoid the police this year. What more can you ask for?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 15, 2023 at 11:18 #1639401Chezza ALWAYS goes on his own – obviously.
But Chezza wasn’t there – Chezza’s not keen on Cheltenham (overrated in Chezza’s opinion), especially at the Festival.
Chezza MIGHT have mentioned this before.
Chezza was chez Chezza, crashed out on the Chezza “Chezz Longue,” watching the live race coverage only on mute on the Chezza phone using Betfair Exchange’s video service.
It was brilliant.
There’s a remote chance Chezza MIGHT have mentioned this before too?
Anyway, if anyone is there today and sees an annoyingly-cheery, popular, fellow in a yellow cap, go up to him and say: “You’re Hughesey – and I claim a free packet of Space Raiders for identifying you. NO Pickled Onion, though!”

March 15, 2023 at 11:37 #1639406by the way if you look closely to the photo you will see a woman stood behind me with her arm in the air
She is a secret assassin and was hired by Ian to wipe me out.
Unfortunately for Ian I charmed her with a packet of pickled onion space raiders, a pickled egg and a half eaten hob nob..Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
