I see they’re chatting to Ken.
Cba to unmute but I wouldn’t mind betting he’s saying the favourite looked well in the paddock.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2022 at 21:43 #1617899Not always but usually. Mind you, he has a good win ratio and, on the odd occasion he says one looks dodgy, you can put a line through it.
October 8, 2022 at 21:51 #1617900I like Ken, but on the few times I’ve unmuted for a listen he hasn’t half sat on the fence.
He needs to have the courage to speak out if a favourite doesn’t look 100% to him in the paddock.
He’s too scared of being wrong in my view – everyone gets it wrong sometimes in this game.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 10, 2022 at 16:29 #1618010I get it wrong most of the time.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysOctober 22, 2022 at 13:52 #1619566The opening show was dull dull dull this morning.
The only thing I enjoyed was seeing Millenary on the Home Schooling pre advert slot.Alice Plunkett obviously very happy to be back but she had nothing of interest to add.
Long article and discussion on the decision for Cheltenham to remain a 4 day meeting.
Another regarding a stable lass who is championing for more people of colour to come into
racing and showed her leading the way to ‘take the knee’ amongst other jockeys where she had ridden and won a race, they all looked a bit unsure whether they should join in or not and they all did eventually even though a few looked unsure. They previewed just two races one at Cheltenham where they all went for Panic Attack and the big flat race
at Doncaster today where they went for the 1st and 2nd favourite and that was it and no doubt it will all be repeated on ITV racing this afternoon. No interviews with NH trainers or anyone of interest..no clues for the upcoming NH season. I had a notebook at my side which remained blank…disappointing show.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 22, 2022 at 13:59 #1619567I don’t know how to get ITV4 on my television set, so I’m crashed out on my sofa watching the racing on mute on my phone at a betting site.
This is the life!

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 22, 2022 at 18:13 #1619613I normally think that criticism of ITV coverage is unreasonably harsh but it was genuinely woeful today. Maybe Chamberlain & Chapman add more than we give them credit for. Jason Weaver at Newmarket on his own was fine which makes you wonder why they usually have half a dozen or more there for similar or lesser meetings. Home Schooling is always a nice little feature though – and mercifully brief.
ITV4 is 26 on Freeview Ian, or (apparently) 118 on Freesat. It has some good stuff from time to time, as well as the racing. Drama is a great channel. I’ve been rewatching Spooks and had forgotten how good it was (at least the early series).

Thank you – and bless you – Tonge, for talking to me as if I was a normal person and not the happily socially dysfunctional reclusive lunatic I no doubt am.
I hardly ever watch television, consequently couldn’t be bothered to investigate how to adjust my set when the freesat/freeview (I neither know nor care which one I’ve got) changes occurred a few years ago and now I’ve realised I can watch the BBC News channel (when something massive politically is kicking off) on my phone the only time I ever switch the TV set on is when racing is on ITV1 when, as stated so often, it’s muted the vast majority of the time (I might unmute to hear future running plans for a winner after a race).

as one to another, there is good stuff to be found on terrestrial tv (most of it very old to be fair). Freeview 82 (Talking Pictures) is another a good one. Loads of old films – some rubbish too but some greats. Seek it out!
October 22, 2022 at 20:58 #1619637It always amazes me in this day and age when so many people have these giant tvs. (I don’t have one, if that matters) That a lot of people are happy to watch things on a tiny screen on their phones.
October 22, 2022 at 22:23 #1619643Why didn’t you call me Ian?!?
Just over a decade ago I spent a year working in a call centre talking people through retuning their tvs. I could get your ITV4 back with or without sound.
I occasionally moved on to the PPV boxing calls and once spoke to Dettori. He was really nice, chatting about football and racing, although I may well have messed up his order
October 22, 2022 at 22:48 #1619646I actually find it more enjoyable that way, chestnut.
Crashed out on the sofa, screen less than a foot away from me (as it is now while I type this posting) I can see the race perfectly well, what do I need a dirty great big flat screen TV the size of a wall for?
That’s a very kind offer, patriot1, but I’m just not that fussed tbh.
In fact, while I have the racing on muted when it’s on ITV1 there in the background, I often forget it’s there and watch the races on my phone anyway.
I think I may have this condition called “clinical insanity?”
But no matter – I’m happy enough!

It’s far more beneficial and much more enjoyable impersonating the dead contra the living, simply because, and by vitue of my extremely ‘umble, stooped, over caring nature, it gives them a second chance. A second coming if you will. Another crack of the whip !
I can do the odd jockey.
Dettori, who I prefer to call Franco, or Frankie, depending on my mood, is a particular favourite, although I stopped the jumping years ago.
October 22, 2022 at 23:38 #1619660I thought you’d enjoy these revelations – though hardly news to you – gamble.

On a positive note – nice to engage with the up and coming poster of the year.Lovely mirror ☺️
October 22, 2022 at 23:45 #1619666Yes it did spark my interest !
