I watched the early stages of the Topham on RTV. After they jumped the Chair, I decided to switch over to ITV. On its coverage, the runners were only just approaching the Chair!
It is ridiculous to be so far behind the live action.
April 4, 2025 at 16:24 #1725901I always watch RTV, and it is generally around 10 seconds or so behind the live time (comparing the time in the top corner of RTV to that on my laptop).
If you’re watching terrestrial coverage, the signal takes even longer and if it’s HD then it’s even longer to broadcast.
You certainly wouldn’t be able to bet in-running using ITV HD!
April 4, 2025 at 16:27 #1725903Lovely segment on the David Power cup which nobody except the jockeys gives a damn about
April 4, 2025 at 16:30 #1725907Quek isn’t a new regular team member RTB; I believe she’s just there for the National Festival. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if she reappears for other big events like the Derby if her participation is judged a success by ITV.
She’s not had much chance to demonstrate any knowledge of racing she may possess. The remit she seems to have been given is to convey the atmosphere and experience of a day at the races for a more mainstream audience. Like most posters here, it’s not of much interest to me, but I really can’t get too bothered by it.
April 4, 2025 at 16:34 #1725909I usually quite like Rachel Casey on RTV but she is embarrassing herself today. Does an audience of racing enthusiasts paying for a subscription channel really care where Mark Walsh is having dinner tonight?
April 4, 2025 at 16:36 #1725910Ed said the public haven’t taken to the David Power cup to which Adele disagreed, there was me thinking she had some intelligence.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 4, 2025 at 16:42 #1725912Vested interest probably RTB, hubby is a jock albeit a flat one
April 4, 2025 at 16:48 #1725913Hope it isn’t going to happen on the flat.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 4, 2025 at 19:20 #1725966Ed has already written his “it was a sunny day” excuse for tomorrow’s poor viewing figures
April 4, 2025 at 21:01 #1725997Oli looked smitten by Quek.
April 5, 2025 at 06:08 #1726052Oli looks smitten by everything. He’s like a big Labrador puppy.
April 5, 2025 at 13:46 #1726184Seems as though Hendo and Fitzy are now bitten by the smitten bug…
April 5, 2025 at 14:57 #1726211Watching Opening Show this morning and they kept referring to Nick Rockett as “winner of the Irish Grand National”. I didn’t sleep for a year, did I?
April 5, 2025 at 14:59 #1726216Oh dear that segment with Sam Quek pouring a pint and then egging on Olly to “down in one” was a bit awkward. Responsible gambling but not responsible drinking the order of the day
April 5, 2025 at 15:25 #1726229As I said earlier she is a 90s girl power throwback and it doesn’t work. To say she has a crush on Hendo is quick frankly ridiculous and embarrassing.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 5, 2025 at 15:25 #1726230ITV’s star signing and she ends up being a barmaid.
I would be having a word with her agent, if I was her..
April 5, 2025 at 15:32 #1726231And there we have it
the sort of new people we want to attract to racing are the ones who put money behind the bar
drink it fast, get in a fight and put proper people who they should be attracting to not go againGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
